Rod Price - one of those under-appreciated guitarists.
Long live The Bottle.
Lonesome Dave and Rod - 2 of the best. RIP
Foghat would play at our high school often and donate the money to the school, Port Jefferson.
I remember when my brother could drive. He had stereo speakers in the back of the black Mustang. My brother and his friend and I would sit in back between the two speakers, and we would roll on down the road listening to Foghat on cassette tape. High oh Silver!
Sometimes, you never know the value of a moment until it becomes a memory...
Happy Wednesday... thank you for sharing! 💖
The original Foghat with Lonesome Dave Peverett and Rod Price. This is what it was all about and why their concerts were awesome.
This line up has three originals but bassist Craig McGregor seen here was their third bass player. From this line up only Drummer Roger Earl is still alive.
Foghat LIVE ..... One of my favorite live albums !!! Lonesome Dave was the MAN !!!
Interesting - that's 'Train Kept a Rollin' riff with the 'Hi Ho Silver' lyrics grafted on.
which came 1st?
Sure sounds like it! But I'll take Foghat over Aerosmith all day all week!! RIP LONESOME DAVE AND ROD🕊🕊
OMG!! Like being at a concert. Midnight Special had great, live music.
Got to see Foghat twice back in the day. They opened for Blue Oyster Cult ( I had front row on the floor and couldn't hear for many days after) and saw them co-headline with the Outlaws. By then, I got smart and wore hearing protection, although it was a little too late by then. Now I have a lifetime of tinnitus. Good times.
I went to a Rush concert in late 76 (Dec 30) and several days later when returning to high school after the holidays my ears were still ringing, Really wanted to see Foghat back then but had to settle for Don Kirshners Rock Concert on tv.
Glad I grew up with the music of this era....Had this on vinyl, and wore it out back in the day
You and me both I just turned 67 music will never kick ass like this again
Rock, boogie, and blues, these guys had it all, my favorite band for so many years...
That's real rock n roll
Good Rock and roll. Foghat. Got that Detroit Grit Legendary 🇺🇸
Outstanding 70's music. Thanks Midnight Special.
They are crushing it here.
Fantastic group and have loved them since the mid 70's.
am i the only one who thinks this song sounds a lot like 'train kept a rollin'?
Nope. It is.
So what came first?
@@nb7466 the egg.
Honey Hush was recorded by Big Joe Turner in 1953. It went #1 on the R&B charts.
But Train Kept A Rollin was recorded in 1951 by Tiny Bradshaw.
Hi-O silver and heave and a ho away, train kept a rollin…( yep a mash up works perfectly)
Ahhhh… Yeah we did have the coolest hair, clothes and music….. Lonesome Dave, RIP. You were a class act.
Foghat was a great band to me growing up in the 1970's😃We used to call them Hogfat😁ROCK ON!!!!!!!🤘🏻🤙🏻✌🏻
We called them that too. 😆
Seen those guys in the 70-80’s whenever they came near Tampa, always great 👍👍
Rock & Roll at it's Finest Thank You TMS
Energized!
If only Kirk Hammet could use the wha so well
The perfect rock band.
Seen them one time at the texxas jamm...believe it was 78
Classic ✌🏼😃
Well I must be stone blue this morning but I do know that wasn’t Home in my Hands.
I miss my Foghat Live tour tee shirt from 78. I wore that poor six dollar concert tee right out.
My friend, you are right. This song is Honey Hush, at least that's the song listed on Foghat Live
The song is Honey Hush
That was awesome! 🎸🎤🎸
Love Foghat. Thanks for sharing.
Excuse me, that is not "Home in My Hands," That song is "Honey Hush."
Appears to be a glitch in the matrix. MS posted this 11 months ago with the correct title - /watch?v=7IvBpU9sVPw
GRACIAS , por darnos la oportunidad de disfrutar una joya de ROCK .
Loudest concert I’ve ever been to🤘
Train Kept a Rollin?
YES! Why can’t I find any mentions of this obvious similarity on the internets?
Honey Hush
@@davelennie1591 I'm readin "The Train Kept Rollin'" is a song first recorded by American jazz and rhythm and blues musician Tiny Bradshaw in 1951."
It's been covered a lot
Great band, still one of my faves.
FUNKY BABY!!!!!!!
Awesome. Thank you
Hi ho Silver away!! Fantastic song rockin' into Wednesday! 😎🔥💜
As a drummer, I always think of that guys stamina. Holy fk! 🤘🏻❤️✌🏻
Talk about stamina...he's still doing it and chasin' his wife around the table in Long Island...a frigggin' force of nature !
Lovely stuff. It’s Honey Hush though
Stroll On-The Yardbirds, Blow-Up movie (1966)
Foghat was the first concert I ever went to. I believe Robert Palmer opened up.
That's definitely not Home in my hands.. But I like it.
Everyone that rocks has stolen or been influenced by someone before them but absolutely 💕❤️💕💙 this
The more time that goes on, the more I appreciate Lonesome Dave Peverett. He was a great frontman. Excellent vocals and solid rhythm guitar work. Dude deserves to be in the hall of fame somehow.
First concert I went to. Birmingham Alabama
It's Honey Hush
Love Rod Price.
If you google both songs on u tube you will find bands have combined honey hush and train kept a rolling into a medley. Johnny Brunette also recorded covers of honey hush and train kept on rolling along . Probably over the years the two songs have morph together.
The bottle and the scatin'. Great shit!!!
It's actually a cover of a song called Honey Hush done by Johnny Burnett and good Rock and Roll Trio, which also sounds a lot like their version on Train Kept a Rollin'. So, the rich and roll trio may have actually copied the.selves.
👍🏻💯
I think this is the first time TMS uploaded a clip that they put out previously.
That is train kept a rollin
Foggy as a damp dark FOG BANK.
Wrong song name. It's actually Honey Hush. This is an amazingly storied song. Wonder as to why in 1974, Foghat and Aerosmith released the same sounding song? Both covers, both lyrically correct! A tale of blues, a rockabilly legend, The Yardbirds and Led Zepplin.
1974 kicked serious butt for Rock in general.
Be bopin' and scatin' all over the place
FOGHAT... the band that didn't know the definition of slow.
Honey Hush et Train kept a rollin' écrit et interpréter la première fois en 1956 par Johnny Burnette and the rock and trio, d'où la ressemblance des deux titres
Very Very, much like Train 🚂🚂 Kept Rolling!! Such an underrated band!!!
❤
Train kept a rolling all night long
UMMM....."train kept a rollin"......this was already done.
There were many virsions of this song dating back to the sixties and possible farther back than that and no this is not a Train Kept on Rolling ripoff .Aerosmith were the last band to put out thier virsion. This song also appears in the movie BlowUp with Jeff Beck and Jimmy Page as part of the Yardbirds.
Sounds like Train kept a rolling by Aerosmith..
Train kept a Rollin’ by the Yardbirds.
Yeah sounds like Train, but it's also Not 'Home in My Hands', it's Honey Hush, which was basically a rewrite of Train
Did anybody contact Aerosmith?!!!
@danallshaw1131 actually they should contact the Yardbirds who contacted Sonny Boy Williamson
Does anyone know if Foghats new Dvd 'Slow Ride Live in Texas 1999' is the same as the Millenium dvd which was also recorded in Texas. It is very misleading, and there has been no advertising confirming the actual detauls of the dvd be it whether it is multiple venues in Texas
What is the meaning of the name Fog Hat?
Lonesome Dave was playing a game of Scrabble with his brother and he came up with it and after the fisticuffs ...he realized that would be a good name for a band !
it's honey hush not home in my hands.
Nice version. Very different from the one recorded by Jerry Lee Lewis
How weird, on the record this song is called “Honey Hush.” In actuality “Home In My Hand” is a different song, and I believe there’s a recording of Foghat doing that song on The Midnight Special as well. @themidnightspecialtvshow y’all might want to fix that.
Foghat is neither “fog” nor a “hat.” Discuss.
OK so who played this riff first? Foghat or Aerosmith on Train Kept a rollin? Someone ripped someone off
A song about the value of a non-yapper lady.
Which song came out first? Train Kept a Rollin is better song by a better group. Not that Foghat doesn't rock, but Aerosmith just happens to be the bomb. 💣
They were so basic and terrible and I love them for that.
This is Honey Hush from the Energized album.
