If you’re on a tight budget, want a variety of items, Dollar Tree always beats Walmart. Why? Because I can’t afford to buy the larger size packages even though it’s a better buy. I need to buy small and get a better variety of items for my upcoming week. If I have a little extra left in my budget, I will try and buy a bigger item to stock my pantry, but that is not always an option
Same. I’m only cooking for me, and as nice as getting the better buy is, i appreciate the smaller portions. I don’t want to eat the same thing all the time
Also, if you are only cooking for one (or two) items like roasted red peppers (that I use, but not all that often) will go bad in the bigger size. So DT wins here too
I totally feel you on the DT items fitting my budget better even though the larger sizes may be a better deal. I also like the smaller items bc storage is a challenge in my tiny pantry.
Yes on the spring rolls!! We load up on these and no complaints as we incorporate them with homemade or take out Asian entreees! Saves so much money !!
From DT I want to add the frozen meatless meatballs, cauliflower rice, Celeste personal pizzas and chicken and pork potstickers. Also want to add Lysol concentrate that makes 5 gallons of all purpose sanitizing cleaner.
Those spring rolls are the real deal! There is no junk in the ingredients! And I think they taste better than other grocery store brands that cost 5X more.
Good to hear! I'm leary of buying any frozen food at any dollar stores after I got a bell pepper blend and was sick all night. I checked the package and found it was from China.😝
I pick up a jar of those red peppers every time I go into the Dollar Tree. I've added them to non-lettuce salads all summer long. They're also nice on a sandwich when it isn't tomato season.
I'm glad to see the spring rolls on here. Mom and I found these about a year ago and couldn't believe how good they are....nice clean ingredients, also.

Honestly, getting a little cheapie rice cooker changed my world. I use it for rice (which is literally the best rice I've ever eaten not from a restaurant), yes, but for cooking for one or two people it's SO convenient and doesn't heat up the house. I also regularly make oatmeal and single servings of pasta or steam veggies, and can meal prep x8 hard boiled eggs for the week in one go. SO good.
I like their Jasmine rice, it always turns out light, fluffy and delicious. Rice is my kitchen nemesis and It never turns out right when I use the white or brown long grain rice. Also their frozen peppers and onions, asparagus and fruit for smoothies I feel like are great deals. Those spring rolls with some sweet chili sauce, YUM! And their seasonings are a great deal too! A lot of the time they have name brand overflow, like the Kingsford brand.
They have potsicker's,I can't remember the brand name of them. However they are delish with the spring rolls. Also they have coconut milk occasionally. TFS

Those spring rolls are the best! My other DT freezer favorites are the 2-in-a-pack veggie burgers, the potstickers and what I think is their best value: the 10 oz. sack of frozen blueberries which I buy for my oatmeal.
they are also shelf stable and very quick / easy - when we lost power for 7 days last winter, it was SO much easier to prepare these on our camping propane stove than to try to do dried pasta
I no longer eat the high carbs or wheat, but oh my gosh, I LOVE those gnocchi. Boiled and/or fried, they were delicious, cheap, shelf stable, and quick.
Thanks for the info. I have been reluctant to buy food at dollar tree just because I thought it was a bad deal or it would be junky. Now I will look closer, since I am always there buying gift bags, cards, hair clips, candy and have bought ornaments and comet. Love it.
Campbells soup at the $ tree (chicken noodle and Tomato) are HUGE-- 25% larger than the ones sold in grocery stores. 14.3 ounces versus the 10.5 ounces. Now that's a dollar or two well spent ! I buy these two flavors only, as to this day at 63 yrs of age, I've YET to make an edible pot of ckn noodle or tomato soup!
I don't like the spring rolls, but the husband LOVES them, so I try to pop a package or two for him for snacks. We *adore* the pot stickers though. Pork and Chicken are great.
Went to DT a couple of weeks ago to check out the food. I came out with 5 bags for $33! I heard that another DT in another town (to which I go often) has even more food items. My youngest daughter's favorite Dollar Tree find is the "unicorn poop" marshmallows. (That's their real name, they are just rainbow colored marshmallow candy). It's about half the price at DT over Walmart.

@@jillgott6567 my stepmother is Chinese and taught me a lot of her Chinese dishes that she grew up with, so we serve it with just about any meat or vegetable Chinese dish. We also love it as a side with a pork pot roast that was roasted with apples and onions--we like to pour a little bit of the juices from the bottom of the pan over the rice. Chicken and rice casserole, chicken and rice soup, risottos, pilafs, fried rice, rice porridge, horchata, Spanish rice with tacos or burritos, as a filler in meatloaf sometimes, etc. I have Celiac disease so I have to avoid wheat, barley, and rye, and be selective about oats due to cross-contamination (oats are often grown and/or transported alongside wheat), so rice is typically my grain of choice.

I get the Healthy choice chicken rice soup, by the case if they have it. $1 at tree, grocery stores over $2. Not all grocery stores sell these.
I love Dollar Tree bagels. They're so dense and chewy.
Thank you I learned a lot on your videos, I shop at Dollar Tree but mostly buy other things but food but will now check out the food deals next, would save a lot of money, I live alone and don't need large amounts at a time. Thank you
The dollar tree is GREAT. Thank you for sharing. Your a blessing.
“Most people don’t know how to use that much rice.” Our Asian family….”hold my rice cooker.”🤣
Hahah I buy the biggest bag my Walmart sells and store it in a 5 gallon bucket.
SO good.
@@PixieLovesItAll when our ancient rice cooker died I switched to my Instant pot for that very reason! Can cook it all. And excellent rice
😂
You win the comments today! 😂😂
The coconut rolls are amazing. After the suggestion to try them I'm hooked
I dip in cool whip
I like their Jasmine rice, it always turns out light, fluffy and delicious. Rice is my kitchen nemesis and It never turns out right when I use the white or brown long grain rice.
Also their frozen peppers and onions, asparagus and fruit for smoothies I feel like are great deals. Those spring rolls with some sweet chili sauce, YUM!
And their seasonings are a great deal too! A lot of the time they have name brand overflow, like the Kingsford brand.
I totally agree about the spring rolls! They are wonderful!! 🥰
They have potsicker's,I can't remember the brand name of them. However they are delish with the spring rolls. Also they have coconut milk occasionally. TFS
My son loves them!
Potstickers and the spring rolls, my teens love them!! Way cheaper than at Sam’s club and the air fryer makes them super yummy
That candy is delicious! I stock up when they have it! They taste like natural fruit starburts.
The Gossner plant is in Logan, UT. We always stock up on shelf stable milk when we drive through. My kids love the chocolate milk.
I love this milk, nobody really drinks milk in my family but me so it works great.
I wish dt had the chocolate.
Gossner produces a CHOCOLATE MILK ?? !!!! 😳.. I'm gonna have to delete your comment and my reply before my 31 yr old son see's them! Have NEVER seen the choco milk !! Didn't know it existed !!
@@paulawinstead5660 not just chocolate other flavors too. Cookies and cream, banana, strawberry, rootbeer, vanilla.
Those spring rolls are the best! My other DT freezer favorites are the 2-in-a-pack veggie burgers, the potstickers and what I think is their best value: the 10 oz. sack of frozen blueberries which I buy for my oatmeal.
Great video! Thank you Christine, you are appreciated by so many.
Thank you so much!
Gnocchi in chicken soup like a dumpling.... That is so smart!
I love the spring rolls. My husband was skeptical but once he tried them he was hooked too.
I love them too! Sometimes when I’m traveling I will get one and microwave in the hotel room for a quick meal.
Dollar tree has awesome egg rolls too and also veggie ones
I buy those gnocchi, they are the best I've had compared.pared to any of the name brands. I make Olive Garden chicken gnocchi soup 🍲 🤤
That is my favorite! Would love your recipe if you feel like sharing Neka. :)
they are also shelf stable and very quick / easy - when we lost power for 7 days last winter, it was SO much easier to prepare these on our camping propane stove than to try to do dried pasta
I no longer eat the high carbs or wheat, but oh my gosh, I LOVE those gnocchi. Boiled and/or fried, they were delicious, cheap, shelf stable, and quick.
Ohhh that sounds delicious 😋 what’s the recipe?
how do you cook them?
Potato stick's. FANTASTIC
Great deals! The spring rolls are awesome!
The potstickers are SO good!
@@Sincyn241 Yes, they are. I'll usually make 3-4 bags and refrigerate the rest for night time snacks.
@@selenadansfield1305 the potstickers are the best imo. My daughter will ask for them as an after school snack.
@@GracefullyPlanned Those pot stickers are AWESOME!
I wish I could have tried the chicken.....the pork were delicious!!!
I've been eating those spring rolls for several years now and they are the bomb!👍
Went to DT a couple of weeks ago to check out the food. I came out with 5 bags for $33! I heard that another DT in another town (to which I go often) has even more food items. Their thin pizza crust is great - low in calories. Got the shelf stable milk for emergencies. Thanks for this video- I had never thought of buying food there.
Sometimes I get to a Christine video, notice I havent given it a thumbsup yet and get happy that I have a new Christine video to watch!!!
Those spring rolls are so good! I buy a lot of the items you mentioned.
I love the spring rolls
The jars of Asparagus is delicious!
They are. You're right.
What do you think of DT's jars of mushroom pieces? (They're near the jars of asparagus.)
I’m sure I’m not the only one who wants a video on the pretzel holiday recipes.
Love the DT pitas for pizza night. My 10 yr old loves the mini moon pies, we used to buy them at DT for his kindergarten snack day. So cheap. Spring rolls are amazing!
Those spring rolls are legit
Our favorite things to buy are Minute Maid Frozen lemonade, frozen slushies, and the thin mint cookies in the green box (like G Scout cookies).
Those spring rolls are the bomb.also the Snyder's honey wheat pretzels dipped in Nutella oh yeah
I really like the per oz price comparisons on screen. Thank you for making the video!
My youngest daughter's favorite Dollar Tree find is the "unicorn poop" marshmallows. (That's their real name, they are just rainbow colored marshmallow candy). It's about half the price at DT over Walmart.
for people living alone, the walmart oats, for ex, are not cheaper if i don't use them up in time and i have waste. i like the smaller packages - no waste.
I freeze leftover oatmeal in 1/2 cup portions. Works beautifully.
I agree! Sometimes I don’t want or need a big container since it’s now just my husband and me.
My dollar tree carries pepperjack cheese an 8 oz block for a dollar. Great deal. I also buy the red peppers and add them to pasta salads and sandwiches.
Been buying my gnocchi there for years, and the pretzel rods, great. I used the green candy melts and dipped them in it for Halloween, boogers on a stick! A great treat!
We do that every year but we make witches fingers and also can do mummy's 💛💛
@Cynthia Willis, How do you store the gnocchi, freezer or pantry shelf? LMAO @ boogers on a stick 🤣
Never cooked with gnocchi before, but recently purchased some to make snacks in the airfryer.
@@lynnheffron6905 I store them in pantry until I cook them. Vacuum sealed, and like a dried pasta. I have a recipe for caramelized gnocchi with tomatoes and mozzarella, it’s a delicious meatless dinner.
@@Cynthia2v thank you for reply. I didn't know if they were dried or from freezer section. Your recipe sounds yummy!
Thanks for making life easier. Wish you were around when my kids were little and family. Plus kids always bring friends home.
Love the frozen tater tots and the Texas corn bread mix. Sometimes the spice area has great deals on name brand mixes.
Good morning I'm big fan of the Dollar tree my husband use to dislike the Dollar Tree now he like the Dollar Tree thank goodness for school supplies at DT, thank you for sharing the videos of DT.
I love the smaller sizes at Dollar Tree because its just my boyfriend and myself..some things he likes better and others for myself..it comes out cheaper at Dollar Tree than Food City...it's all about sales anymore with the cost of living now..thank you for showing us new items
I like shopping at the Dollar Tree because it's convenient and casual. I don't have to get all dressed up like I'm going to Wal-Mart or something
But you're missing out on the opportunity to make THE PEOPLE OF WALMART!
Nope. You can just wear your pink slippers instead of your black ones LOL
😂
Lol
The coconut rolls are regularly $7.99 at Costco, when I got them on coupon back in July they were $2.40 off. $5.59 is a steal! I stock up every time.
Been on that spring rolls for 4yrs now from dollar tree, my family loves it.
Sometimes I can find the True Lemon drink mixes at the DT. There’s also a Siracha salt that is so good!
Oh, I have the salt, but haven't used it. What do you use it for?
@@americafirst9144 it’s really salty so I use it on stuff that can take a lot of salt like potatoes, French fries, popcorn.
@@americafirst9144 Pop some popcorn, pour on some melted butter, sprinkle with Siracha salt...THE bomb...😁
Another good video. Panko breadcrumbs are also great on top of vegetables, like baked broccoli and cheese, and pasta dishes. Mix with butter and maybe some dried herbs or a pinch of salt. Kicks it up a notch. BAM!
My favorite is the Jalapeno cheese dip in a can! It's an exact dupe for the Fritos dip which is over $3 where I am! I buy 4 or 5 cans every time I go!
I go there just to stock up on it too. We have about 6 left on the shelf right now. Its delish.
Thanks gonna give it a try
Dang that sounds good and of course I would have to read this at 6:50am
A can of that would be good on pasta or rice.
I'll have to get this for the Grandkids when they come over.❤️
Love their Bagels ! I purchase alot of items from Dollat Tree, and am going to be looking into their canned meat for my pantry - will check ingredients. I try to keep milk on hand Soy especially then shelf stable milk and even dry whole milk. That way I do not need to worry if I run out of one kind I have another on hand.
We buy rice in the 50 lbs bulk sacks. We even have a metered rice dispenser set up in our pantry. There's only two of us, but we go through a LOT of rice. We buy more about every six months.
My husband and I do this via azure standard saves so much time and money
Wow that is a lot of rice. Would you be willing to share a few of the meals you make ? Thank you
@@jillgott6567 my stepmother is Chinese and taught me a lot of her Chinese dishes that she grew up with, so we serve it with just about any meat or vegetable Chinese dish.
@@Stevie37 I also eat a lot of rice, for the same reason: Celiac disease. It's about the most versatile, least expensive carb that is still safe for me. I make it plain sometimes and add milk, cinnamon and sugar to it for breakfast. Way cheaper than GF oats.
Can you tell me about your metered dispenser? Where did you purchase it and name brand?
Springs rolls gonna be a must try for sure!.
