It's funny that you brought up "Animal" from the Muppets. Animal was modeled after a combination of Keith Moon and Mick Fleetwood.
Side note: Animal was my favorite Muppet when I was a kid.

John Entwhistle "the Ox" arguably and in my opinion the best bass player that ever lived.

Mod-era Who is a whole other beast.... nice selection - one of my all-time favs.
They aren't the band that plays CSI. CSI is the TV show that plays the Who. The Who are top 10. Check out the Isle of Wight festival show from 1970. Talk about energy!!!!

Yeah, I love The Who too Stan. I saw them live in 1969. They were phenomenal.
I've been told (though I haven't seen confirmation) that Animal was based on Keith Moon.
I love The Who, and one thing I've noticed is that no one reacts to songs John Entiwistle wrote (except occasionally "Boris The Spider" if someone's doing a Halloween theme). Might want to check out some of his material, either with The Who (like "I've Had Enough" or "My Wife") or solo (like "My Size" or "Too Late the Hero").

I think that's so cool that you have discovered how absolutely extraordinary The Who are. And the operative word there is ARE, because they are still out there kicking it. 😄
Stan, you would not have heard this song on the radio in that form when it came out even if you had been born. The line: "I look all White but my dad was Black" was way too outrageous for American sensibilities so they had to change that line for fear it encouraged young people of the USA to believe that inter-racial relationships were in any way acceptable. Birds and bees chat back then included something like: "Bad enough y'all are goin' 'round gyratin' your hips like them. Call that dancing? What next? Some things just ain't natural."

I like the Who. But Keith Moon will always be my favorite drummer of all time.

If I didn't love them before, I certainly did afterwards.
I've seen Zep (once '77) and The Stones (twice), but The Who is the best live band I ever saw... (all 5 times. lol)
