My high school freshman year began in the fall of 1999 & I graduated on June 2003…Sublime was really big when I was in high school… and there was music which was modern at that time like _Jack Johnson - Flake_ & _Ben Harper - With My own two Hands_ which definitely had Sublime’s feel to them _(so-to-speak)._ Now, my dad’s a master electrical engineer, put himself through engineering school playing guitar (and fixing other guitarists’ broken equipment), and I literally grew up around the local music scene because of him… I remember being an 8 year-old kid with a white Fender Stratocaster & a Marshall stack & all of my dad’s friends from the music scene used to watch me play at my house from afar and tell him “That boy’s walking your line” and my dad would be like “I grew up on the streets of South Miami, then got moved at 14 years-old to Dorchester, Massachusetts. He grew up in my half-million dollar house…our lines are not the same at all” and they’d be like “No, he’s playing stuff influenced by you”. So, now I have Telecasters, Flying V’s, and a few _Super Strat’s,_ my _Marshall Stack_ is now an EVH/Fender _5150-III_ & I’m scheduled to play as a guest in my dad’s all star local scene supergroup this coming august…I can’t wait to see the reaction I get from those guys when I play a Nuno Bettencourt inspired solo for _Mustang Sally_ or a Joe Satriani inspired solo for _Johnny B.
