- After completing the bulk of my infantry for my fledgling Tyrants Legion army, I needed and HQ choice to lead them. So one again I turned to some 20 year old models I had cluttering up my closet.
This is Episode 2 in an on-going series about building a Tryant's Legion army from old, or second hand models.

Amazing work, can't wait to see some artillery support for these guys!
I just traded for another basilisk as well. My only challenge now if fitting in everything I want in only 3 heavy support slots...
Looking great! You've really pulled off a unique but cohesive look between the units so far.
Appreciate it. And my hope is that once I start mixing in Astral Claws units to the army I can still maintain that cohesiveness, while still maintaining clear visual separation between the mortal and space marine units
That commander looks great. It was fun to see you go through the creative process and see all the steps along the way that didn't work before it finally clicked.
Thank you! And Im glad you enjoyed going through the process with me. Sometimes our first ideas don't always work out. And that's ok.
Sweet happy to see an update of your Renegade guardsmen unit.
Thanks! Hoping to do one of these a month at least.
Really nice work. I love the lengths you go to to get the look that you are aiming for, especially cutting off that tiny skull for your commander's hat. Kudos.
Thank you! I might have a bit of OCD, but it generally results in some pretty cool models!
I really enjoyed this video series so far! Great choice of heads for your guardsmen and a simple but effective color scheme.
Glad you like them. Its wild how much a simple head swap can change these models.
Replacing the boots with the Cadian ones was the right call! The elven boots were always the reason I shied away from using the high elf legs on Cadians. They are way to slim and make the minis look a bit top heavy. Giving them larger boots ties everything together in a nice way.
Also your army really gives off some great Dune vibes (book and 1984 movie)!
Great work. I really appreciate and enjoy this type of build/hobby content. Thanks
Thanks for saying that. This video is doing pretty terribly for me so far, so I really appreciate comments such as this. They help keep me motivated to make more in this style!
I can't wait for the next video featuring these little goons!
Going to get some leman russes out the door soon!
Guard army is a very easy to get into conversions, such a requirement and excitement to put together. Once you get the basics you can expand from there I know because I’m working on my steel legion army.
Lovely progress, mate, was hoping you'd post another episode of this army build soon.
Thank you! Trying to get one of these out every 2-4 weeks at least
I'm loving the paint scheme and conversions! Keep at it!
Thank you! Still have quite a few more ideas to go for this army
Such amazing conversions !
Thanks! They are pretty simple* but they work well I think.
*well except that the legs are from a kit that's been oop for a decade now...
@@AmnioticlyTanked
That just make them even better
@@AmnioticlyTanked I'm so excited to see the rest of your conversion, you do such an amzing work, you deserve more views and followers
@@clementclaus1435 Thank you so much! The channel is slowly growing, but engagement like this really does a ton to help me with the TH-cam algo!
Enjoying this series of guard minis, I’ve been building a guard army myself for a few months now so this is cool to see
Thanks! Im having fun doing a more episodic series as well with this.
Will get back to conversion and painting tutorials soon though.
Good conversions' job, can I suggest pinning with metal rods the legs, for a better grip ? Too many times I saw hands/legs coming apart, also if they seemed well glued.
You're absolutely right that pinning would give way more support.
I'm just kinda lazy and generally only pin once something already breaks off!
They look very nice.
Merci pour la vidéo
As always your conversions end up looking great. But as a "noob" in the hobby it's always so scary and anxiety inducing looking at how you chop up unused and functional models.
each video is a roaler coaster of emotions
Thank you!
I can certainly see how taking some clippers to a perfectly good model and cutting it in half could cause anxiety levels to spike. I guess I have been doing this so long that I am pretty confident in my ability to "fix" any mistakes.
There are a few things that get edited out of these videos though, as every now and then I will destroy a piece to make it completely un-usable. That does give me an idea for a video though on "fixing mistakes when hacking up models"....
Do you think you would ever do more of your badab war paint guides? I would love to see one for the executioners
Still a great video! Would love to see you continue to work on these or some of the new Solar Auxilia
Thank you! I burned out pretty hard on TH-cam about 6 months ago and just kind of disappeared. But Im getting the itch to start recording again so we will see what I end up doing!
@AmnioticlyTanked Understandable, and your enjoyment of you hobbies should always come first!
Very nice!
Thanks!
I certainly know the feel of re-using half finished conversions 😅
I mean, I guess its better that they get finished off as opposed to languishing in a half finished state forever? Still sucks to cut up something I already did though!
@@AmnioticlyTanked Yes, totally I think it's salvation for these unfinished minis, even if the have to suffer a bit. Being half-finished must be a weird limbo state, kind of like the purgatory 😄
Amazing video!
Glad you think so!
Fun, fun , fun , love it
These look great. Keep them up. Where are the heads from?
Will do. And there are from Victoria miniatures. Should be a link in the video description.
i think you need to look around your garage and stuff some more considering you not only have the command figures bit also the baneblade box yet supposedly dont have a baneblade a little weird
Hey remember to edit out those mouse clicks from the beginning and ends of voiceover takes
Really cool conversions! The blue stripe aginst the monochrome rest of the miniature looks amazing.
Did you freehand the claw onto the banner or is it a transfer?
Thanks! I love the pop of color it gives, while still staying in the cooler color spectrum with the rest of the scheme.
The claw is a transfer. It was from Chapter Customizer but it looks like they took the transfer sheet down...
Have you considered making castings for the boots and stuff you need? :)
you know, casting up a pair of legs with the boots attached would really not be that difficult...
So not, had not considered it, but I am now!
@@AmnioticlyTanked nice, your content is awesome by the way. :)
@@anthonyplayter2981 Glad you are enjoying it!
Awesome content! Do you have an advice for making auxiliaries for my Chaos Iron Warriors army? I am thinking about getting the kill team blooded kit with traitor guard but it’s been sold out for a while
Thanks! What kind of looks do you want to go for? More conscripted slaves pressed into service? Or a more professional military unit attached to the iron warriors?
@@AmnioticlyTanked Probably a professional military unit!
Lad we getting any more of these episodes?
Great question and yes! I'm sitting on 40 conscripts that are done, just the conversions are simple so im trying to figure out how to make a compelling video on them...
More are on the way though
@@AmnioticlyTanked As someone whose just gotten back into the hobby with a similar love of Lost and the Damned, I'm very excited!
I'm running my force in CSM codex using the Traitor Guard there + Space Marine chapters revived using vile Chaos Psychic Necromancy. Its really fun to work out making the Renegades shine as the most important part of the list, but seeing a pure LatD list fills me with joy.
@@TheAfroMenace Hopefully we get full rules to just smash together the Chaos and Imperial Guard Codex, but until then it sounds like you have the right idea!
Based
man I love the flag!
Thank you!
I’m not going to lie at a glance I thought the title said “Canadian Command Squad.”
would be one hell of a use for the new rough rider models
👀
damn give me that BFG stuff hahah
