GBO2 RX-0 Unicorn Gundam: It can one combo generals?!

- I won't go much into analysis or discussion on the nitty gritty for Unicorn since we don't have the hard numbers for all of it yet. So these will be my first impressions after 10 games with the Unicorn Gundam on stream.
Unicorn Gundam is a 4 star 700 cost general unit with insane damage (in NT-D) and insane bulk (in Awaken mode). Your main strategy will be to get damaged enough to reach 80% HP or less then immediately activate the NT-D. Your melee damage in NT-D becomes absolutely ridiculous and you can even kill some generals in a single combo. In this video I was also using a Learning Computer+Melee Modifier build to further increase the damage. You have two great stuns to open up with. The Beam Magnum which has 3600 power along with splash like a bazooka and a shrapnel bazooka very similar to the one found on Stark Jegan.
From the few games I have played in it so far, I feel like Unicorn Gundam might be the strongest or one of the strongest 700 cost suits so far. The sheer melee power is unmatched even by the Sinanju it feels like. I plan to play this suit a lot more over the coming week and upload a better game with it. This match was 208k damage but I feel like I played sloppy and that 230k or higher is possible when played well. I will also go into a lot more detail on the stats and skills when that video comes out so stay tuned.

@@avenger1_gbo260 gbo is inherently incapable of being anything remotely close to "competitive" net code and gacha being just two of many reasons. And that's a good thing, competitive focus ruins multiplayer games.
GBO2 doesn't have a competitive focus though so you don't need to worry about that. It is a sideshow but people definitely are very dedicated to it. Bandai did say online that they wanted to take competitive seriously for Gundam Evolution and GBO2 though so it might change.
If only activating NT-D had a voiceline trigger of banagher screaming “unicorn!!”
Part of me really wanted you to inlay the vocal mix when you triggered Awakened, but holy moly this thing is the epitome of a "Monstrous Mobile Suit", great video.

Dudes real talk the Unicorn chad walked me all the the way from ground rank C- all the way to A- within a few days of playing ranked matches with it
I had some games with it too, it was worth the wait and the melee damage came in nicely, even if it's quite tricky to time it when to use ntd since I had a hard time paying attention to my hp.
Haven't tried the learning computer yet either but might give it a go
It is my favourite 700 now. It encourages such a fun aggressive playstyle.
I didn't save my coins for the unicorn gundam and now im getting smacked by one in every round! xD!
You should have seen my face when one negated my Moon Gundams barrier. I went for a barrier block on low hp, and it just rejected the deploy.
I SCREAMED as it rushed towards me when I had no boost left. MY ASS WAS TOAST!
I love this game.
It is really sad for Moon Gundam players since Unicorn straight up negates the best parts of your loadout. Maybe a rework is in order for the funnel jamming.
I suppose Banshee with claws would be coming as raid unit soon.

The Unicorn basically shifts between General and Raid in its two forms. One can notice the way the damage dramatically shifts from Ranged Strength to Melee Strength in a bllink of an eye once you go from NTD to Awakened. Activating NTD will challenge your survivability skills while you take this form, so you better bring your A game if you plan to stick around until it's time to Awaken, which will restore 7000 HP and gets you ready to go.
I thought the beam magnum was gonna be a bit cumbersome to use at first, until I saw that its charge time is pretty quick. Its shots explode like a bazooka and it can stun pretty well once you score a hit. The shrapnel bazooka seems underrated because of the way you have to line your shorts well enough to do decent damage, but being a subweapon, that may serve as good practice if you use a MS that equips it as its main gun.
And IMO, don't skimp on using its head vulcans in a pinch. With around 125 damage and 60 bullets, that's actually plentiful! I've tested it out while using the Unicorn in some engagements and I found that you can stun an enemy with the vulcans while scoring decent damage on them. That'll help if either the beam magnum or shrapnel bazooka aren't done reloading.
Overall, I think the Unicorn is a fantastc MS to have, and you can give Nu Gundam, Sazabi, Qubeley(s) and Kshatrya users a hard time as well, since NTD causes their psycocommu weapons to be jammed, limiting some of their arsenal.
Great showcase of the RX-0. Definitely lends to its potential.
I have seen some elite players get 240k with it already. This isn't even the full showing of its potential which is crazy lol.

I'm just sad about my Moon Gundam and Sazabi. The Moon pretty much got thrown into the grave with this thing and Sazabi is pretty much beyond unviable.
I am also very sad about it. Sazabi used to be my favourite 700 but as you say it is way worse off now. Moon has become practically a throw pick since it relies entirely on its plates for attack and defence. I hope they rework the psycommu jack to be less impactful
@@avenger1_gbo260 I think both of us are happy to say how poorly this comment aged.... for Moon anyway. Sazabi's still kind of depressingly stuck as just a worse Sinanju by this point.

I’m waiting till Monthly reset to do the Unicorn step up. Definitely gonna build 50 melee and beam resistance on it.
50 melee resistance is a must unless you wanna be killed in one combo by NT-D Unicorn now
U must have the patience of a saint.. the only way I can last that long without pulling is if I don't have enough coins for it, and if they give away enough I should be able to get all the steps so I'm gonna go pull, like now lol
@@lottidhundabolt4259 I’m in the 460s rn. I’ll have 18 from monthly missions and sims combined and then I’m planning to get the discount 60 token pack. So I’ll be well over or about 600 when I actually roll which will give me about 220 to play with for the rest of anni.
@@willstaub6581 so you are a Saint then! I got just enough coins to pull the unicorn and have 15 left over for when I will have to buy that 60 pack and probably another $100 pack to get the Banshee whenever it drops, hopefully sometime during this month as well...

should wait todo either for faster monthly medals with the exception of freebies and the current mini step up which wont be around when month changes same w the anniversary free tokens even if u wait to take those itll countem for last month
but any tokens u buy get from battle sim and recylce tickets from unicorn step up plus unicorn itself as a monthly suit all go to monthly missions and medals
anytime a new battle sim gets announced always look at the date and jf its close enough try and wait todo them till post month roll over
This thing is gonna get some crazy changes, been a tyrant of 700 for a few months now. I don't even know if making the beam-magnum stop-to-fire would be enough of a nerf because in the show the Unicorn's never moving while firing it and is always 2-handing it. I am so curious on what they plan for the changes on this machine.

I have fought a Gundam Unicorn with a Xamel before and lemme tell you...If you keep landing your hits, it won't even get near you, especially with the missiles to clean them up.
So they balanced NTR by dropping its health during activation

It is an interesting balance. Technically you gain more than you lose if you activate Awaken mode ASAP to get 6000 HP.

I could totally see that. Banshee isn't seen carrying the beam magnum or bazooka so it will probably have worse shooting. But it has that vibro nail claw thing.
@@avenger1_gbo260 It does have a rail cannon. The banshee does get its own magnum but it cant use it in destroy mod with the armed armors

This suit very much seems like a if you get staggered your only real choices are to pray you have more hp than they have thrust

im saving till the 1st of august before i roll so cant answer this myself quite yet. How are the vulcans? Are they like the GP02 and able to break through manorver armor? Also dear god that damage is insane
Yeah they are exactly like GP02. They fire really fast and stun in 17 shots. Great to combo from shrapnel bazooka if that alone doesn't stun.

Not gonna lie I maxed out beam resistance on my suits and the beam magnum absolutely trashed them from that unicorn, that and the fact it can outright smoke most suits in it's cost , idk fam this might get nerfed because it's a little overwhelming.
I definitely didn't expect it to be this strong. It is fun but definitely unbalanced. A slight tune down is certainly in order.
@@avenger1_gbo260 I think the developers knew it would draw in a nice bit of new players and wanted to show off but I agree it needs to be balanced better , unless they'll do it quietly at a later date
I always wondered how the awakened ability worked. I thought you had to have another unicorn or Phenex on your team in order for that to happen
It is just spending enough time in NT-D and you can turn it on

Got the suit and it's ridicilous but my only problem is what build to use. Plannedon using reloaders and beam and melee resistance but dunno. Could I use ur build for testing?
Melee mod lvl 4, 3 and 2. Learning Computer. Melee armour lvl 3 and 2. Beam armour lvl 3 and 1.

Feels like a damn Bossfight with the 3 phases of the Unicorn but you're playing the boss. The damage is fucking bonkers in NT-D though gotta be careful with the HP drain....
Actually does base repair or just any repairs outheal the HP drain in NT-D???
Yes base repair or pilot repair will outpace the HP drain. Phase 3 Unicorn just cheats and gets back a good chunk of HP. This isn't Elden Ring lol....

it's roughly 4500 total hp drained from activating NT-D, but you get 6000 back when you trigger Awakened, and stops further drain. (I wanna say it's 70-100 hp/s drain)
How did u do twice back attack with same melee weapon.. It is supposed to have cooldown right?
Unicorn melee in NT-D has only 2 seconds of cooldown. So it is very easy to downswing with sabers, downswing with tonfa and then downswing with sabers again all in one combo

What exactly does Awakened mode do? I can't really tell from watching Gameplay alone.
From what we know so far. It restores 6000 HP on initial activation. Makes you take 20% less damage. Takes away 20 ranged and melee modifier. Dunno if it increases mobility or anything yet.

Is the good combo, Down Swing Double sabers->Downswing Tonfa->Down Swing Sabers?
Yep that is the best combo to use. If you are doing the combo vs a support then you can start with neutral downswing double sabers but otherwise keep the rest the same.

what it means when changing colors?
This video is old so the effect is different from what you see in the match, but when it changes to green from red it has stat changes. It decreases melee and shooting modifier by like 40 but it no longer has its HP drained by NT-D and it takes like 16% less damage from all sources.

also fun fact the nt mode and the ifield on transformed unicorn are bugged as fuck
ive had times where an enemy nt mode wasnt jamming my funnels and ive seen shots behind and to the right side or literally from below in space get a “shield” hit mark shooting enemy unicorns on the super gundam today where other times ive straight railed them from long range thru an angle that should of been the shield zone
its a hilariously bad mess rn w its hitboxes and area of effect of the nt mode
From what I understand. NT-D psycommu jamming only works if you are caught in the initial 200m AoE. The shield definitely has a ghost hitbox or something. Way bigger than it seems.

Nope. It is a normal stagger with 10% stun value.
I got my unicorn today it requires too much effort and maybe decrease the ho drain for the NTD would be better
It can be weird to play around the HP drain mechanic but it is worth playing more to learn. IMO even if you don't activate the NT-D you can do a lot of damage with just beam magnum, shrapnel and vulcans since the Unicorn has 50 range mod outside of NT-D.
To me the unicorn is worth the money I spent but it needs some tuns not modifications we put on i don't like that when you use NTD the range decreases the only downfall to NTD
