As I understand it, TPRS is big on "establishing meaning" of words in isolation before encountering these words in input. If I remember correctly its creator said "we don't have time for noise." ALG has none of that, in a way it's all about the noise. If the input is comprehensible on the level of the overall message and purpose of the interaction, your brain will "automatically" find the signal in the noise.
