I had some QANTAS frequent flyer points to use up, so I bought a RING STICK-UP battery camera (generation 3), & a RING doorbell 4.
In the below video link, I unbox, setup app, & install the RING STICK-UP battery camera in my backyard decking • RING STICK-UP camera (... .
My original intention was just to rely on the battery in the camera to power it. And replace the battery every few months with a second spare battery that I bought. However, this would mean I have to reduce power consumption of the camera by minimizing video recording time, as well as not use some features which consume more power. And I would also have to use a ladder to reach the STICK-UP camera to replace the camera.
Hence, instead I bought a RING solar panel. In this video, I unbox & install the solar panel. Then I connect it to the RING STICK-UP camera. Now that the camera is connected to a solar panel, I can see that the battery is being charged. And I can also use more features of the camera, & not worry about power consumption as much.

Amazing product demonstration! I am glad you mentioned the black wiring loom to protect against weather! Thank you!

oftentimes the extra tiny details & effort, saves on unnecessary repair or maintenance further in time.

@@DIYhabitatexactly and especially that wire alone is already exposed to the weather! This is very helpful! Thank you again!

by the way, for users of RING battery-powered cameras & doorbells, watch this video on Motion Frequency. It is useful but not available in RING documentation.

you are most welcome. There is another video on my channel you should watch if you use battery powered RING cams. Has to do with MOTION FREQ settings which has the camera sleeping too long & missing events.

Very good video on installation of the solar chargers for your Ring stick up cameras! I just mounted 2 new Ring Stick up camera pros, and as I was doing it, I was already wondering why I didn't order the solar chargers at the same time!
I realized I would be climbing back up the same ladder every time the batteries got low! I don't want to go through the process of disconnecting the batteries more than once to install fresh batteries. I was looking at my cameras and at 1st I couldn't see any type of port where the cable to the charger would connect on the body of either of my cameras though!!
I finally found a USB C type plug in port tucked away up by where the manufacturers info is at. It's not a round hole for a little barrel type plug, if thats even what that type of connector is really called! I'm just going to order a couple of solar chargers, and hopefully the connection port is compatible with what they send me. I don't want to need some sort of adapter plug for it.
I'm pretty sure they said they are compatible with the ring stick up camera pro's that I have 2 of now. We'll see how that goes. Seems like I saw they have a chord thats 13 foot long, I hope that is the case!!!

i have 5 outdoor RING STICKUP cams installed outside at various heights that need ladder access. They all have solar panels... so no need to change batteries. The new model solar panels are better with more power output. i have video comparing new to old panels. I had 1 STICKUP cam & panel replaced by RING tech support owing to excessibe battery drain after some mths of use. I kept detailed log of date/time/battery-level/activations. T
And used that data log tp get RING to send me new replacement. I have video on that as well.

Thanks for the video. I just ordered the panel for my stick up cam which I have inside a birdhouse believe it or not. The day after I put it up, a blue bird has been checking it out and I have been watching so much that the battery is already down to 90%. LOL

i have 5 Stickup battery cams all around outside of house. All connected to solar panels. 4 cams are installed into rain/sun steel-shades i built from rain box-gutters. The solar panels sit on top the shade-roof. there is video of how i make these shades. Works very well, as I have not needed to replace batteries in about 1.5yrs.
