I use it for fun, mostly on the last level so telekinesis 3 makes you into a poltergeist, you can drag people right into your electric trap spear wires. Scout+hypnotize will cause a big group fight which you can watch in total safety. Dionysus park is the first place you can research Houdini splicers Natural Camouflage Gene Tonic
Insect Swarm has a rather nice ability that it only targets enemies which makes it a 'party' friendly spell, throwing around the fire, ice, lightning style plasmids can easily aggro any befriended big daddies, turning them against you or harm your hacked security bots.
My top 5 5# Cyclone trap: The ability to combine with other plasmids lets you create delayed version of them, like placing fire/electric traps over water and oil spills or hiding in a corner while enrage traps make the splicer attackers all turn on each other. Early game availability lets you take advantage of the extreme disruption it can provide, the knock up and fall plus the standing up animation takes up a huge amount of time and they can't attack you during that time, pefect target practice for hacked security. 4# Winter blast: Long stun duration and helps get those machines hacked without damaging them, plus you can still get loot with the upgraded versions and being an ice block lets you now throw with telekensis those big brute splicers and Big daddies that'd normally be immune or just push them away with a rocket spear. 3# Hypnotize: Taking 2 plasmids from Bio1 and combining the two. Can be use to both enrage and befriend and not just big daddies but all other splicers as well, only one type of enemy you can't befriend and you get another plasmid for that one anyway :) 2# Security Command: The cheapest way to kill a big daddy while drawing no aggression then with upgraded version you can summon your own escorts without the pain of leaving unhacked machines near bot shutdown pannels. Plus with Handyman tonic you can keep them for as long as you like, unlike the other companions which are timed or unhealable. 1# Telekensis: The possibilties of this could be its own essay, throwing explosive obects covered in sticky mines, repositioning Lvl 3 Insect Swarm traps, throwing the still lit corpse of their freind that just died from your Incinerate plasmid to set them on fire as well. The best comes at level 3 (only avaiable on the short last level. Grrrrr) now you can directly pluck the still living and still human sized splicers right off their feet then you can throw them a stunningly long way or just hold them in place while a few melee swings finish them off for no resource cost since only throwing costs eve. Works well with security bots as you can carry them around the map in a more consistent way than their shaky path finding and AI navigation. For added meaness you can sadisticlly make splicers fly into any traps you have made. Very funny if you've been placing wall and ceiling Cyclone traps for a makeshift pinball game.
jamesworkshop totally agree with #4-#2. I’m on my 5th play through or so and I haven’t used winter blast until this time. It’s sooo OP. On the Alexander The Great level w/the 2 alpha series, I froze them next to each other and killed them both with ONE frag grenade!!! That’s absurd!!! Decoy is powerful but not remotely fun to use. I used to always cyclone trap lvl 3 for gathering sessions, but found I’d rather spend the Adam elsewhere. Also I love roaming the halls of rapture with friends, so I always summon robot pals and hypnotize enemies 😈
My 5 top: 5. Telekinesis, is fun to use, is useful, is telekinesis. 4. Insect warm, is good, stun pretty guuud, and go killing every enemy. 3. Spy ( is the one that makes you invisible and let you go pretty far without being attacked), is so fun, enter in an place full of enemys and just start using the fire lvl 3, and keep burning them. Just incredible. 2. Eleanor the slave, is just broken. 1. Electrobolt, stun, does dmg, makes dmg and stun enemys at the same time in lvl 3, makes critic hits and even let you go in certain rooms. Broken in every sense of the word.
I like incinerate winter blast and electro bolt not because they’re necessarily the best but because they can shoot continuous streams of flame ice and electricity it’s pretty cool lmao
my playthrough with hardest difficulty: 1. decoy Very useful, especially in early stages to avoid taking damage. Plus you can unlock it pretty early in game and eve consumption is also pretty low. Can deal with nearly all enermies except for alpha series 2. winter blast A broken plasmid. Extremely important for dealing with bosses. With fully upgraided winter blast and drill you can literally melt all bosses in the game. The only drawback is its large eve consumption and enermies leave little drop since they are shattered into pieces 3.Hypnotize useful plasmid, but only good when you fully upgraid it imo. Hypnotizing big daddies are very useful when fighting big sisters or other big daddies. rank third since it drains one eve hypo and you can only fully upgraid it relatively late 4.Telekinesis Fully upgraid telekinesis can be the best plasmid, you can grab live splicers to your front and kill them with 0 eve consumption, super fun. However you can only fully upgraid it at the last level of the game, where you no longer worry about firepower. Its also pretty good at the early stage, but its usefulness is limited to the kind of enermy you are facing. Its pretty useless if there are no barrels or the big daddy do not have rocket launchers
Summon Eleanor is great, but the issue I have with it is that you don’t get it until the last level of the game, and by that point you’re most likely beefed-up and powerful to the point that you don’t need to use it at all. It’s great if you’re doing a “no-kill” run, though.
My rankings : 11) Summon Eleanor - I can beat the game without using this , it does free up the plasmid slot. 10) Scout - good for your first playthrough , especially on hard difficulty. 9) Winter Blast - now comes the hard part where play style decides the order and I place WB here because I don't usually carry it despite it uses. 8) Incinerate - if they were more pools of water like in the first game to use the toaster in the tub manuever this would be higher. 7) Electro Bolt - with hack darts , the need to no longer stun turrents , bots , and cameras reduces EB uses. 6) Hypnotize just misses the top 5 because I don't really start using it until I get my spider splicer and brute research done. And MY TOP 5 in no particular order because they all work well in conjunction with the others and I find these most useful when I equip the Drill Specialist tonic. Cyclone Trap- makes Adam collecting easier and fun , especially when combined with the others and 3rd level wall placement has saved me from a tight spot more than once. Telekinesis - useful throughout the game and the 3rd level added a nice touch in this game. Decoy and Insect Swarm occupy enemies attention so you can easily dispatch them. Security Command - call your own robot buddies , get 2 additional bots when an enemy walks into a camera zone , and turn the Rumbler's own mini turrent against him.
I think Bioshock 2 has a great storyline. It’s very emotional not just for the main story but for the sub story of Mark Melterzer. I have found him as a Big Daddy fought him and then taken Cindy with me to save her. The first time I realized that it was actually Mark Meltzer I was just in disbelief and I took a picture which I keep as part of my Bioshock 2 folder (I have one for the games I play which has trained information plus other things needed to play the game). And then the Minerva’s Den storyline is another one that is amazing. You don’t realize it till the big reveal at the end of the game. And the audio dairies with Pearl are also very emotional. Plus the wall you pass at the end is just one of those moments that you’re just taken back. I think they took more time to get the player involved with the emotional side of the game but I guess not everyone appreciates it. For me the plasmid I use the most is Insect Swarm. It helps out greatly with Houdini Splicers as it finds them when they reappear so you don’t have to keep guessing where they will keep popping up. I also use electro bolt with Big Daddies and Big Sisters since it stuns them. And using it when there’s two Big Sisters is great so you can have the upper hand as it stuns both of the them simultaneously. Incinerate is good as well but more for the regular splicers. The Elenor plasmid also saved me the last time I played the game which was today as the game had a glitch and I couldn’t use most of my weapons for some reason. So I used the drill and summoned Elenor at the end in the final fight. I ended up using Elector Bolt to destroy the pipes to flood the room. But Elenor helped me keep a lot of the enemies at Bay. It was still pretty hard but it would of been impossible otherwise
i never used decoy when i first played this like (god knows how long ago, like 2011 or something) now its one of my faves, and fully upgraded shotgun *chefs kiss
I used summon Elenor and hypnotise 3 in the last part of the game all the time, I was untouchable, call her in than do the trick on the BD and sometimes shoot or throw a turent down, I was enjoying it so much especially on hard.
why is no one talking about scout, its great for screwing with splicers without getting attacked and its even more fun when you upgrade it so that you can hack machines
I liked the story, never got that complaint. I think people were complaining for the sake of it. For me, it's 5: Scout 4: Insect Swarm/Winter blast 3: Hypnotize/Security Command (Tie) 2: Decoy (saves your life in hard mode) 1: CYCLONE TRAP 0: Eleanor (i don't count it since it's the final level power up) Decoy is the best for starting up enemy fights, manipulating foes, and the control it gives you over the AI itself. Same reason for hypnotize. It can be used in place of basic security command in a lot of cases, too. Cyclone trap needs no explanation other than being able to be combined with nearly ANY plasmid effect. That alone makes it super spammable and amazing. I'm a big fan of Cyclone trap + telekinesis. Scout helps you do ambushes a lot as well, negating the risk of many encounters. Winter blast ans insect swarm beat electro bolt and incinerate for me because their effects can't be simulated by ammo types and weapon upgrades, aside from freezing drill which only freezes occasionally. Plus winter blast + shotgun = bye bye annoying splicer. And security command with fountain of youth is just free robots lol
Houdini, Fountain of Life, and Swarm 3 is how I beat the hardest difficulty. Hide in a water, send out swarms until you run low on Eve, regenerate. Repeat.
Here is my setup in The 2nd game....Security Command 2,Electro bolt 3,Incinerate 2,And winters blast 2.....Plus a lot of physical and Combat tonics....I know there all together in this game but still
Bioshock 2 was my personal favourite since I care mostly about hacking the environment and using trap-style ammo and plasmids, Bioshock 2 was simply better suited to those kinds of defensive moves with the constant ADAM gathering and incoming Big Sister attacks. The only true flaw is how short the game becomes in terms of its final upgrades, you get these two powerful plasmids but by then the games practically over. The only things that cover for it are the Protector trial DLC where you can do the bonus trails with fully upgrades guns, plasmids and tonics that you'd never have due to Adam and power to the people limitations in the main story.
i always liked telekinesis, when you upgrade it you can use it in everyone, not only objects or dead people. You put them in the air, and then shot them
Yes BioShock 2 was very much under rated me personally I absolutely loved it. Had fun through the entire game even the multiplayer back when it first released I had lots of fun, it was awesome if maybe a bit simplistic but still enjoyable :).
My Top 4 would be : 1. Insect Swarm 2. Winter Blast 3. Gravity Well 4. Summon Eleanor (would be higher if it had as good availability as the others) You could make an argument for every other Plasmid in the game since there is a lot of usefulness in all of them but I think the 4 I mentioned here are the ones that break the game the most.
BioShock two is my favorite out of the series and I get so much hate for it. I feel like story wise it’s not the best, but I love the combat and I feel like the game rewards you more when you do chain attacks. My top five would be slightly different than yours by like one or potentially two. Out of order, but I would say mine is electro bolt, summon, Eleanor, insect swarm, security, command, and telekinesis. Security command is very helpful and overpowered in hard difficulty. I used to kinesis mostly so I can pick up health and items quickly. I like incinerate, and it would be in my top five, but I use telekinesis mostly more to help survive longer in fights if I’m not watching myself enough.
Everything on the list is perfect except decoy, i would change it winter blast but the thing is that winter blast works a lot on the endgame of bioshock 2 because of the alpha series and you really don't need loot
BioShock 2 is my favorite of the series gameplay wise. Yeah, the story was better in the first game, but they took all the gameplay aspects, and turned it up. I played this game dozens of times when it first came out. Also insect swarm is my favorite plasmid as well. Imo it's just the coolest one. Not only does it look cool tho, like you said it's very useful. It was my main priority to get/upgrade when it became available
I really like Decoy. Also Telekinesis and Insectswarm 3. Talk about OP plasmids! I really like all plasmids. Winterblast i like but for no reason i seldom use it. They should include Houdini or Teleport from Bioshock 2 multiplayer in BS2 singleplayer. That should be fun! Summoning big sister was only usable in the endgame, maybe because it was so strong?
I absolutely love Bioshock 2 it is a close tie between the first and second one. If the story was better it would be my favorite hands down. I always thought perhaps instead of chasing down Elenore she was out of the picture completely. Once she was taken he had no bond and wanted to leave the city perhaps.
Bioshock 2 had the best plasmids in the entire series tbh Infinite had a couple of cool Vigors and Plasmids too but not as badass as how plasmids were in Bioshock 2
My ranking: 5#: winter blast. Very underrated yes body loot doesn’t drop when killed but u have a shit tone of Adam to get so use a bit of it to get level 3 and your problems are solved. It freezes enemy’s for a long period of time and I can kill a bouncer with 2 shotgun shots it’s that easy. 4# telekinesis. It’s fantastic for grabbing things which is what I mainly use it for but it also is fantastic with grabbing a spear from a enemy and shooting it again so it very handy. 3# ignite. It’s much better in BIO2 than BIO1 it is useful and simply is a good damage plasmid but that’s all 2# swarm. It’s simply really useful and it has a high damage outlet no negatives. 1# shock: it is simply the BEST plasmid as it is universally useful and has a rather low plasmid consumption.
Just played these games for the first time recently. Scout was invaluable in my first playthrough , but I haven't used it in my replays since I know what to expect now.
Love how u start with Decoy on this list 👌👌, it just has to be in the list, so OP 😭. Gotta give the best plasmid, for me, is hypnotize....just so helpful/fun in combat
What I find funny is that when Bioshock came out all anyone could say was "we want to know more about the lore of rapture" but when Bioshock 2 comes out everyone's like "too much lore"... You can't please everyone I guess lol
I LIKE THE freeze BLAST IT freeze them so you can destroy them . i like the teconeses 3 IT throwS enemys .i like the elenore plasment i yous it all the time. i like the insect swarm it helps. i like the electro bolt it stuns enemis
IMHO BioShock 2 is the best in the series. I thought the story was alright, but I'm more of a gameplay over story kinda Guy, and 2 has the gameplay that does it for me.
I feel, in my real opinion, just my opinion, if one hates BioShock 2, then they're not BioShock fans. It gave Minerva's Den as well, and the gameplay defines itself as a sequel. The second game, bigger and better.
I played 2 right after the first, so I was biased to use electricity all the time (and decoy). I find your list is spot on. I also think the Black Hole plasmid from the MD DLC was overpowered. I also abused the security bot plasmid to make sure I always had two little flying helpers of death with me. Those came in very handy for me as they did a great job distracting the enemies and taking the fight to them.
Bioshock 2 was my favorite of the trioligy bc it had the most fun things to do but what I dont like is the camra the one in bioshock 1 was good and I wish we had more time to use elinor
@@conroleshockvods7990 I have a whole playlist if you're interested. Just look under the All Cut Content playlist on my channel. You'd be surprised on how much was removed from each game.
the next bioshock simply MUST include the houdini plasmid, you know the one from bioshock 2 that was too unstable. answer me this, how was it too unstable when people in rapture were ON the houdini plasmid themselves. houdini splicers are a thing.
I love- well i would have loved if i could have played it when i was younger and the game was new.... Basically bioshock 1 is my favorite game ever, Bioshock 2 is the better game, the only reason why i dont hold it to as high a regard is because when i first played it (when i was quite young iirc when did bioshock 2 come out?) AND FUCKEN WINDOWS LIVE REFUSED TO LET ME SAVE THE FLIPPING GAME!!!!, CMON!, any way, come to think of it i never beat Bioshock 1 either, but i know exactly where i got in that game, i cant remember how old i was i know the game was quite new and my brother bought it i got (and i know this for a fact btw) to the elevator to fontaine's Pent house, i know this because we have a ps2 game (harry potter 1 i think) with a piece of paper, with the code on it 5477
oh why i didn't beat the game was because my sister couldn't take care of discs and put the disc "data" side down, scratching it to such a degree where the pc couldn't read it... after that i eventually figured the code out, and spoiled the ending too bad i couldn't play it back then
Gameplay wise, my favourite in the series.
I'd say for myself personally, Infinite had my favorite combat. I like being able to interact with my setting and I feel Bio 2 focused a ton on combat.

Bioshock 2 is my favorite in the bioshock series
Winter’s Blast mixed with the shotgun!
Good combo!
i never used decoy when i first played this like (god knows how long ago, like 2011 or something) now its one of my faves, and fully upgraded shotgun *chefs kiss
For me, it's
5: Scout
4: Insect Swarm/Winter blast
3: Hypnotize/Security Command (Tie)
2: Decoy (saves your life in hard mode)
1: CYCLONE TRAP
0: Eleanor (i don't count it since it's the final level power up)
Decoy is the best for starting up enemy fights, manipulating foes, and the control it gives you over the AI itself.
I love how you go I’m putting incinerate at number 3 then mainly only use telechanisis
Houdini, Fountain of Life, and Swarm 3 is how I beat the hardest difficulty. Hide in a water, send out swarms until you run low on Eve, regenerate. Repeat.
BioShock 2 is my favorite one out of the BioShock series
My favourite it's hypnosis maxed out, you can get the alpha series to turn friendly and take all the fire for you.
You put them in the air, and then shot them
1 electro bolt 2 insensate. 3 winter blast. 4 telicanesius. 5 summon elinor
Bioshock 2 is my favorite in the entire series, you get to play as a Big Daddy
Yes BioShock 2 was very much under rated me personally I absolutely loved it. Had fun through the entire game even the multiplayer back when it first released I had lots of fun, it was awesome if maybe a bit simplistic but still enjoyable :).
My Top 4 would be :
1. Insect Swarm
2. Winter Blast
3. Gravity Well
4. Summon Eleanor (would be higher if it had as good availability as the others)
You could make an argument for every other Plasmid in the game since there is a lot of usefulness in all of them but I think the 4 I mentioned here are the ones that break the game the most.
Great choices.
My favorite plasmids are
Decoy
Telekinesis
Incest swarm
Gravity well
BioShock 2 is my favorite of the series gameplay wise.
I Liked Bioshock 2 Because of the Story and the gameplay is much better than the 1st one
Eyenz S The story is better? Huh? Gameplay, sure. But story? What?
The story is quite plain compared to bioshock 1 but this 1 has better combat
I also used ice. At lvl 2/3 , you can eliminate most enemies with one use and a few drill hits
I'll try to use that more the next time I run through Bioshock 2.
TheBioshockHub yeah. I played on hard and this would basically kill everything except for big sisters
In my first playthrough i used it almost exlusively but it sacrifices so much loot
Mine are 5:cyclone trap 3 4:gravity well 3 3:hypnotize 3 2: security command 3
I really like Decoy. Also Telekinesis and Insectswarm 3. Talk about OP plasmids! I really like all plasmids. Winterblast i like but for no reason i seldom use it. They should include Houdini or Teleport from Bioshock 2 multiplayer in BS2 singleplayer. That should be fun! Summoning big sister was only usable in the endgame, maybe because it was so strong?
I'm just gonna put out here that I went through hardest difficulty only drill maining frost shock and fire.
I absolutely love Bioshock 2 it is a close tie between the first and second one. If the story was better it would be my favorite hands down. I always thought perhaps instead of chasing down Elenore she was out of the picture completely. Once she was taken he had no bond and wanted to leave the city perhaps.
Bioshock 2 had the best plasmids in the entire series tbh
Infinite had a couple of cool Vigors and Plasmids too but not as badass as how plasmids were in Bioshock 2
Hypnotize and security plasmids are really good too
My ranking:
5#: winter blast.
3# ignite. It’s much better in BIO2 than BIO1 it is useful and simply is a good damage plasmid but that’s all
2# swarm. It’s simply really useful and it has a high damage outlet no negatives.
1# shock: it is simply the BEST plasmid as it is universally useful and has a rather low plasmid consumption.
I agree with your opinion of bs2 being underrated. It’s my favourite out of the entire series
Man this game was amazing I even named my youtube channel from it
My top 5 is all of them there so fun to use man makes you feel like a god
I love bioshock 2 because subject delta
Bioshock 2 is one of my favorites currently playing through it again now
TK turns Rumbler big daddies into pushovers.
My favorite thing to do is drill bash
No love for Scout? I used that so much. Scouting ahead and hacking turrets without taking damage was amazing.
Just played these games for the first time recently.
Scout was invaluable in my first playthrough , but I haven't used it in my replays since I know what to expect now.
i like summon eleanor, incirate, telekinesis and electro bolt.
I'm a big fan of the security one, just summoning my own bot
I used the frost plasmid the most because I maxed out the drill so I was just cheesing boses
I think its good BUT i don like remastered versión on the nintendo switch bc sometimes when the audio lines sometimes cut
You should have added winter blast I used that like crazy
If you didn’t need the fire for melting things I could go the whole game with just the electro bolt plasmid
Love how u start with Decoy on this list 👌👌, it just has to be in the list, so OP 😭. Gotta give the best plasmid, for me, is hypnotize....just so helpful/fun in combat
Decoy is so damn useful.
No freeze blast? That plasmid carried me ngl
Combone the electricity with the drill and it's Op
Winter is a big daddy shredder with 1 upgrade
Bioshock 2 is AWESOME!
I honestly love the game. I'm trying to get 100% completion on it, just like Bioshock 1.
Great video my friend keep up the good work
Swarm will always be my favorite.
I love it too!
@@TheBioshockHub when can you get swarm?
@@pupsiuspupuliukas2394 You get it around the time of getting the ingredients for the Lazarus Vector.
@@TheBioshockHub I'm at Dionysius part. Is it after that?
@@pupsiuspupuliukas2394 Wait, for Bioshock 2? Yea, you should be close. My apologies, I thought you meant for Bioshock 1.
Winter Blast is number one
One word...Bees!
My man. Insect Swarm is my favorite, hands down.
The DLC for Bioshock 2 is better than the first and second Bioshock games story wise
Storywise, the first is still superior.
Overall however, yes, Minerva's Den is the ultimate Bioshock experience.
No Winter jack that plasmid tier 2 could really help you you freezing in me solid can you shatter them
Its my favorite of the 3 , the weapons , being a big daddy ....
IMHO BioShock 2 is the best in the series. I thought the story was alright, but I'm more of a gameplay over story kinda Guy, and 2 has the gameplay that does it for me.
Utility wise: Telekinesis
Combat: Incinerate (Holy Fire!)
Defense: Ice Blast
Hopefully we'll get at least one of these within the new Bioshock.
my list is dummy electrike scout insect swarm Eleanor
I just use ice, telekinesis, and shock for all my play throughs
Bioshock 2 is good, but the 1st and Infinite are f*cking awesome
I completely agree Odin.
I feel, in my real opinion, just my opinion, if one hates BioShock 2, then they're not BioShock fans. It gave Minerva's Den as well, and the gameplay defines itself as a sequel. The second game, bigger and better.
No games ++ is the problem. You can't have fun for all upgraded plasmid n weapons that you have got almost at the end of the game.
I can agree with that as well.
Isn't there a new game plus mode for it in the Bioshock Collection?
@@tymiller2903 Only the first game
BioShock 2 is my favorite one
I enjoy it too!
I really enjoyed 2 as well.
@@TheBioshockHub I found bioshock infinite lacking but intresting with the story
@@conroleshockvods7990 There was a lot of amazing content that was cut out :/
@@TheBioshockHub do you have a video about that?
@@conroleshockvods7990 I have a whole playlist if you're interested. Just look under the All Cut Content playlist on my channel. You'd be surprised on how much was removed from each game.
the next bioshock simply MUST include the houdini plasmid, you know the one from bioshock 2 that was too unstable. answer me this, how was it too unstable when people in rapture were ON the houdini plasmid themselves. houdini splicers are a thing.
Only multiplayer houdini has it. It need to rank up if you need keep fighting.
I think a way to do it could be using the 'ghost' from decoy to be placed somewhere and then you teleport there.
I actually have a video coming out on the Unstable Teleport Plasmid soon ;)
if you play this on pc then you can use a cheathappens.com trainer and accomplish this very thing you are talking about.
Nice video man! You should livestream soon!
Going to
Just trying to focus on videos for a bit. I should be livestreaming this weekeng, more than likely Sunday.
Dude security comman 2 or 3 is op. You can spam bots. ive been using it for the time ive play bio 2
I love bioshock 2 but not so much for the story ling I think the minerva's den blc have a batter story ling
Good job, bro. Bioshock 2 is awesome game! Btw hacking system Bioshock 2 >>> Bioshock 1
Thank you my friend. And I agree, I prefer Bio2's hacking.
The Bees 🐝 of death and destruction
scout and cyclone trap??
