Hey, do you know how the sunlight (or fluorescent bulbs) can influence in the circuit? I've been testing around these suspicious environments and the polarity of the IR sensor seems to be inverted. That's weird.
Hi. A very nice project indeed. I have a request. How to convert this to a proximity sensor for lights.. so that when I come near this sensor it lights up a bulb and how to power the whole setup by AC supply. Thanks!

Never in my 35 years as QC Engineer have I ever seen anyone mount through hole components as surface mount. Well, I suppose it can be done - of course, you've done it - but why? There's a lot more strength in through hole mounting components like that. Wrong solder iron, poor technique; I suppose it will work at first, but how long will it last? WOW! That's all I can say.
Can u please describe how the circuit works? And eventhough I cover the sensor with paper, the led still lights up. When I touch the IR receiver it does not light up.

chalo ok hai ... but do u know door bells save battery by taking SLEEP in microamp range .I have to say it is not usable project .IC will pull 1.2mA . 9v cell is 170mAH so we will have 170/1.2=141hour battery if not used ! which is 5 Days . - So bechara dorrbell battery lene jayega every 5days ! say battery is 30Rs so in 1 year he needs 73batteries = 2019Rs he has to spend

Sir could you modify this circuit by once the buzzer gets on it never turn off until we switch off the circuit....
Nice project but it is not useful for door bell because in day light this circuit will work as a light switch and how it possible as a door bell?????
