I appreciate you talking about your kitting for olive yarn and saying you genuinely like how it wears and that's why you use it so much. Sometimes it is hard to decide if something is actually good or if it's just trendy.
I think in this case it is both! Their yarn has held up so well for me (especially the merino and mohair, the heavy merino has pilled for some pieces..) and I think they have a pretty good price point for it 😊
I REALLY appreciate your sweetness, modesty and humility. Unusual traits these days! ❤. Also…I personally adore the boucle jacket and immodestly and bossily encourage you not to worry about styling it, but just to throw it on over a t-shirt and high-waisted jeans and go! 😀
Loved hearing what yarns wore well or were comfortable! Also what you liked, and what you would change. Beautiful garments and socks! Thank you. Always enjoy hearing your yarny and sewing experiences. My very fave was my Secret Garden Sweater. My yarn, the colours the fit. And the next was a baby set I made. Whispers dress, where I added an extra round of increases, so the sleeves were puffed and the dress skirt was fuller, so cute! Then a matching bonnet and lace ruffled panties all from Knit Picks Comfy Fingering. This yarn makes soft light baby garments that wear so well. Excellent for hat weather. Adding the extra increases on the dress, let’s it grow with the baby. First it’s a dress, then a tunic, and last a cute blouse. My other favs were my Framed sweater, an Elton knit for my Mom, and the scrappy colourwork socks for my daughter.
It was good to see all your knitting projects to May. A variety of patterns that I could and would like to make. Happy Christmas and a happy New Year to you both ❤
You two look so great in brighter colors. The royal blue looks especially good with your coloring. I hope you branch out to colors more instead of falling back to neutrals so much. I am sure you will find colored tops easier to style as you wear more colors.
Thank you for taking time to post during the busy Holiday Season. 💫 Thank you also for your genuinely congenial manner of presentation, never the least bit boastful, not at all. In fact, the dedication to polished workmanship is inspiring... even if certain patterns do not become your favorites. The designers must be grateful that you represent their patterns with such careful attention to detail. Again, Thank you, truly, for sharing such a productive and lovely year of knitting🫶📯Happy New Year! Looking forward to more!😊😊
Beautiful makes. Thank you for sharing. I think my favorite knit of 2024 was my Armor Sweater by Ankestrik (out of Madelinetosh Dandelion in Paper and KfO Solft Silk Mohair in Oat) which i test knit. I dont do a lot of test knits but this one was a lot of fun and i absolutely love the finished object. Looking forward to part 2 and would love to see the sewing as well if you have time. Thanks for a really enjoyable year of great podcasts. ❤
I’m working on the Monday sweater by Petit knits. I’m having the worst time lining up the neck. It keeps leaning. This year I’ve made a couple of sweaters and socks. I also made a purse out of a 100% wool and felted it. I have made quilts, dresses, and across stitch. I love doing it all. Love watching you both. Thank you.
Hey girls! This was so inspiring 🥰 I finished a 7 year wip, the Floozy cardigan. I knit a storm sweater, 12 pair of socks, and other things. Looking forward to part 2
First time commenting but you guys are one of my favorite knitting channels 😻 I’ll be casting on that Augustins shawl for my mom soon because your version in a previous video caught my eye so much! I returned full force to my knitting obsession this year and sooo excited to build up my handmade wardrobe again but I think this years favorite knit was actually the Misha and Puff popcorn sweater I made for one of my daughters 🥰
Thanks for sharing! You’re productivity is remarkable! My favorite knit this year was the Emmanuel Tee by Johanna Gehrisch. But my most favorite make was the Agnes Crochet vest which includes knitting around the collar, hem, and arm holes. Looking forward to more sewing! I’ve been trying to find where you mentioned the fabric store you purchased a plaid for one of your skirts and I can’t quite find it.
Thank you so much for your videos! I really appreciate the inspiration I can draw from your gorgeous knits. My favourite garment from this year is definitely the Elizabeth blouse in Järbo's Llama silk, an incredibly beautiful yarn 🤗
My most pleasing FO is the Rib Tee by Pernille Larsen. I knit it in Knitting for Olive Pure Silkin the color Mandarin. It is just an easy piece to wear. My son has asked me to knit one for him and he chose the color Undyed of the Knitting for Olive Pure Silk. I'm looking forward to casting that on in January. Thank you for this review of your knitting. I am inspired to knit at least one garment that you have made, but will wait to decide after I've seen the review of the 2nd half of 2024. This has been a perfect knitting podcast for me. I am still finishing gifts for Christmas, golf club head covers and another Oslo Hat.
I love all of your projects. I’d say my favorite knit of the year is my Eva cardigan or Metropolitan Pullover. I love the contiguous shoulder construction.
I wear my shawls “backwards” like a triangle scarf instead of over my shoulders… just an idea! Thank you for all your content this year, happiest holidays to you both ❤
It was so fun to relive your year of knitting. I'm looking forward to the second half! Jessica, do you think you could sew the button band closed instead of fussing with the buttons on your Copenhagen? The buttons are really beautiful by the way! If you wear your Augustins shawl with the triangle in the front and the tips brought back around to the front does it lay nicely? It's too pretty to get lost in the shuffle! ❤🧶
My favorite knit this year is the no frills cardigan by petite knit. I made it in knitting for olive merino and we are knitters touch me mohair. The fabric it made is so soft and I have been practically living in this thing since I finished it. I use it as a statement piece when I go out to finish off an outfit but also wear it around the house all the time just to keep me warm and cozy. I live in Illinois so it can get pretty cold sometimes. The carrot yarn does look red to me too. However I've gardened a lot and red carrots exist in fact that color reminded me a lot of dragon carrots which are red but have an orange undertone so maybe that's where they got it from? Either way it does look red 🙂
Very inspiring episode, as always. 😊 My most worn garments are actually by PetiteKnit. There‘s something about here sweaters which makes them cozy and elegant at the same time. No wonder I‘m currently working on a Monday Sweater. 😉
You two girls are both very skilled knitters! It's a plesure to see your FOs! You ask about our favorite knits - I have knit 17 sweaters this year and my 'go to' sweaters are three: Plain Yoke Tee by Le Knit (I knit long sleeves) I knit it in a fingering yarn held together with a silk mohair from AKW. Tii by Joji Locatelli - I love that sweater, have knit four of them, boxy and cropped! Shifting Sands by Norah Gaughan, a very elegant and fun to knit sweater! I'm looking forward to seeing your next episode! Btw, I use a lot of Knitting for Olive yarn I live 10 minutes on my bike from their flag store in Copenhagen - very convenient¨- and very expensive!!!
You are so lucky to live so close to the Knitting for Olive store! There is probably so much beautiful inspiration all around that area! Sounds nice to be able to visit on a bike 🥲
Thanks for the recap and continued inspo! Favourite quick knit was the Harris Hood by Coco Amour. Knit it up in a week in De Rerum Natura Gillaet and it’s so cozy and fun for this winter weather.
What a lot of knitting ❤ My favourite of 2024 definitely is the Traveler Shell by Andrea Mowry. An easy knit and a wonderful layering piece! My most worn knit of this year!
That was fun 🤩 thank you ladies for the inspiration you always bring .I know I will never be as industrious in my knitting but I love seeing all your beautiful work and hearing your helpful comments, they are very much part of my knitting journey along with the knitting I do .Here’s to a wonderful 2025 for you, your family and all your lovely subscribers.Happy knitting 🧶 everyone 💕🧶
Thank you so much for this episode! My absolute favourite raglan sweater is the White Mountains by Midori Hirose. It has absolutely brilliant shaping around the neck. Highly recommend!
My favorite knit of the year was my Smocky Cardigan by Manmi Choi with my Waffle Loop Sweater by Other Loops was a close second They were both so fun to make but the former is easier to wear.
So many stunning knits from you both. You both are always so inspiring. I was working on the Poet socks when I started this video but didn’t like the yarn I was using for that pattern so frogged and am doing the Oodi socks instead. The project I enjoyed knitting the most this year was probably the Ballad socks. My most worn knits from this year are my Sticks & Stones Cardigans. (I made 4) and my Chestnut Grove cardigans. (I made 3) Thank you for taking the time to make this video. Oh, and I would love to see you both share your sewing projects from this year too… if you have the time. 😊
Oh my gosh, all of those are beautiful socks!! It’s so nice hearing you like a pattern so much you make them multiple times! It sometimes feels like there’s so many patterns out there that it’s a shame to not get to try all of them but we’ve been revisiting some pattern favorites and it’s really nice to know you will for sure love the finished object 😌💛
My favourite piece is the Dune Sweater by Hanne Rimmen. I love the unusual neckline and the yarn combination (wool and linen). I wore it through the late summer, all of autumn and even now I sometimes wear it :)
My favorite knits from 2024 are the Gem Sweater and Rota Top both by Irene Lin. And also one I wear all the time is the Haru (free pattern) by Manmi Choi which I knit in a light pink tweed and get tons of compliments on. I have many of your 2024 FOs on my wishlist!
I made my first pullover (The Monday Sweater) *and* my first cardi (The Step by Step Cardigan)! I've found though that I get a lot of more wear out of the cardigan, so I'm excited to add more textured cardigans to my wardrobe next year!
Great round up. My favorite yarn find of the year was the lamb and kid big birdie. It's one like Rachel said she could sleep in it, and I actually have slept in mine unintentionally but it was just so cozy to wake up in. The color i used was also called button and when I first got it I thought it looked dirty but the more it grew the more in love I fell. It was pricy and I wish it wasn't because I'd use it often. I'll do another splurge this year once a pattern screams for it.
For the bag, if you line it… it would add to the structure since you said that was a concern with the bag you made in may? I think….. and thank you both for sharing your thoughts and makes
You do so many garnments , I would love to hear you compara similar patterns and point out one differences. It is not always obvious to chose and I Am sure at the end it might not worth it buying another pattern if they are almost the same
I was wondering if Jessica knits more or faster than Rachel or is it just a coincidence that she has had more finished items so far this year? Personally, my favourite item to knit this year was the Monday sweater by PetiteKnit. I’ve knitted 4 of them this year and have a 5th one planned to knit in 2025. I just can’t get enough of how classic and practical it is!
My favorite finished object this year was The Saskie Sweater by The Petite Knitter. I have been interested in colorwork so after experimenting with a colorwork hat, I jumped into this project and love the finished result. I am working on my second Oslo Hat while procrastinating on starting the Lakes Pullover by Ozetta. It'll be my first saddle shoulder construction so I'm a bit intimidated. :p
Fantastic video of fabulous work. And goodness gracious - so many ads!! I don’t know if y’all have any say in how many ads are shown, but there were a ton of ads this time. WAY more than usual. Also, for your July to December recap, one way to share a link without getting shut down by TH-cam is to create a Ravelry bundle of all your patterns and then just link the bundle. Just a suggestion. Exceptional knits - y’all are wonderful knitters!!! 😊
I love the Nord sweater so much I think it's so perfect and Apres Ski looking. I get the oversized aspect isn't what you envisioned but I literally gasped at it when you added in the try one b-roll. I want to copy it now lol
Oh if you have yarn that is just a little too itchy like those socks you can soak them in a bath like you would before blocking but add in your hair conditioner to the water and it will soften the yarn a lot. Especially if your conditioner has a bit of silicon in it
My most worn sweater is Spacetime by Heidi Kirrmaier. It’s one of the few I can wear next to skin made with fingering held with Trinity Cashmere (alpaca/silk/cashmere).
Who is going to look in your sock drawer? As long as you like how the socks look on your feet that should be all that matters in my opinion. But you both have beautiful knits and I have added some projects to my queue from what you have shown. Thank you!
I would LOVE a knitting habits vlog. I'm genuinely curious about the hours put into some of these garments. Because this amount of work in a year is amazing. Honestly I don't think I would want to knit this many in a year becauseI life in a tropical climate but I am so impressed. The knitwear closet must be impressive in their houses. A dream!
An hourrrrrr and 16 minutes yessssss please
I appreciate you talking about your kitting for olive yarn and saying you genuinely like how it wears and that's why you use it so much. Sometimes it is hard to decide if something is actually good or if it's just trendy.

I can appreciate that. I plan to get some to try out as soon as I whittle down my stash down a little
I REALLY appreciate your sweetness, modesty and humility. Unusual traits these days! ❤. Also…I personally adore the boucle jacket and immodestly and bossily encourage you not to worry about styling it, but just to throw it on over a t-shirt and high-waisted jeans and go! 😀

Great video can’t wait for part two🥰
the intro of those clothes on the rack alone and then seeing what you guys are wearing in the video definitely makes me want to learn knit soon omg

We do too!! 🙌
I am currently knitting a Monday sweater in a perfect, true red. Of course it’s my favorite of the year. 😂
I wear my shawls “backwards” like a triangle scarf instead of over my shoulders… just an idea!
Thank you for all your content this year, happiest holidays to you both ❤

For your April shawl.. look at Purl and Hank as they have shawl belts which I think would more the shawl to look more mordern. I love that shawl.
Thanks for the recap and continued inspo! Favourite quick knit was the Harris Hood by Coco Amour. Knit it up in a week in De Rerum Natura Gillaet and it’s so cozy and fun for this winter weather.
I’ve had that Harris hood on my list… i definitely want to knit it!

Ohhhh I can’t wait to watch this episode later today or either tomorrow. You’ve made such a beautiful and inspiring pieces this year 🌸😍
So many great projects! My favorite knits of this year have been my Salty Days sweater & Book Club Cardigan :)
Those are both beautiful patterns!! Glad you enjoyed them too! ☺️🤍
Thank you so much for this episode! My absolute favourite raglan sweater is the White Mountains by Midori Hirose. It has absolutely brilliant shaping around the neck. Highly recommend!
My favorite knit of the year was my Smocky Cardigan by Manmi Choi with my

Jessica your shawl is beautiful! I use it with the point in the front and wrapped around my neck as a great extra warm cowl/scarf on really cold days.

Those are all such beautiful patterns! 💛
I‘m loving these kind of videos. 😊

Who is going to look in your sock drawer? As long as you like how the socks look on your feet that should be all that matters in my opinion. But you both have beautiful knits and I have added some projects to my queue from what you have shown. Thank you!
If you throw the shawl over a pair of jeans a simple, slim fitting top, I think you find it balanced in terms of modern fashion and a classic piece.
Love, love all your makes. They are so beautiful and perfect 🤩🤩🤩🤩👏👏👏👌👌👌thank you for sharing ❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤

Heel flap and gusset every time for me😊
Yay team heel flap and gusset!! 🤗
❤
Thats alot of knitting for 1/2 a year. All gorgeous, but you must knit all day, everyday.
Your photos look to good! 😅 I wanna make everything and I am not even through february yet 🫣🧶💖
I am impressed by the number of sweater, socks and cardigan you have made🥹but do you ever knit for someone else?? Hello from switzerland 🇨🇭
