    Great segment, MM! Followed your steps exactly as depicted in this clip...with success! One suggestion: a lot more VW do-it-yourselfers could take advantage of this tutorial if you would change the title to: "How To Replace A Coil Pack...in a 2.0 VW" Thanks again!!

    I wish I knew 1/2 as much as you do. Great instructional video.
    I have a 2006 Impala 3.9 and from what I was told, I am suppose to remove the intake manifold to replace the ignition coil(coil pack). Is there a way where I can just loosen it enough to get to that last bolt? I can't find any video "anywhere" that shows how to to this!?

    Hey from the uk, this video is brilliant. I have a 1.8 AGN in my Seat Leon and have just been getting a missfire on one cylinder. After heavey rain, I'm gonna check the coil pack for any damp etc as she is running fine again just now. Question, is there a distributer on these or does the coil pack do it all?

    I remember replacing the coil pack on my 2000 c200. Its took about a month of diagnostics and replacing small things because the issues i had just did not fit into the description of bad coil pack, Main thing was i would one cylinder no 3 randomly and the car would dam near stall on a steep hill. But replaces on of the coil packs and problem gone.

    what are the things that can cause a misfire on a 2002 VW Jetta ? i took it to two different shops they said they couldn't get a code when they hooked it up to a obd scanner.1 of the shops said whatever it is can harm the catalack converter and maybe the transmission i know that the car don't go in reverse until it reaches 194 degrees.some 1 tell me what could that be for that misfire ?And what's the best obd 2 scanners for a misfire ?

    Hello! Did or didn't your Golf start before you replaced the ignition coil?
    My Golf started perfectly fine one day and dead next morning.
    I now have to push-start him, so I wonder if I have the same problem as you did.

    • @EnglishLaw
      @EnglishLaw 5 ปีที่แล้ว

      Does the starter make a noise when attempting to start?
      If no noise of starter, then it could be the starter itself, the starter solinoid of bad grounding wire. (IE wire has come off the engine grounding).
      The reasons I address it from that angle is that pushing a car wouldn't have much relationship to the coilpack.

    Hi, my 2011 Jetta started misfiring I replaced the Spark Plugs and it continued misfiring then I replace the Coil with an aftermarket one for $19 bucks, It ran great for like 4 months and again started misfiring, should I get a genuine coil from the dealership or maybe my Jetta is destroying coils due to another failure? Thank you.

    • @EnglishLaw
      @EnglishLaw 5 ปีที่แล้ว

      Might be worth trying a new coilpack, since $19 sounds very cheap. On the other hand, what about the HT leads from the pack to the sparks. These are as essential as the pack and the plugs, and will often not show any wear even when broken. Essentially, micro sparks start escaping the outer shield. Also, check that your ground wire is fully secure and making good contact. (The big black wire bolted to somewhere metal in the lower engine bay (I don't know Jetta specifically).
      Other things that can cause the same symptoms are below and these _are_ okay to be cheap versions in my experience:
      Crankshaft position sensor
      Camshaft position sensor
      Engine temperature sensor
      And, the wiring for these items.
      Check that the plugs on the sensors are all correct, even the plug on the coilpack.
      best wishes.

    No idea whats causing misfires on my 2002 ford focus 1.6. Just going to buy a kit which has 4 new plugs, 4 new cables and a new coil pack. Knock out all the birds with one stone. Its done a lot of miles and its very old, just hoping when I take out the plugs I don't find a bigger issue. Going to get my mechanic to run a compression test if I see a load of crap built up on them.

    Bro idk why Audi/VW could have just put ignition coils instead of coil pack! its a money making scheme. If you have only one missfire you need to replace the whole darn coil pack.... IT A SCHEME FAM!
