After many hesitations, I decided to publish this exclusive video for all Rick Davies and Supertramp fans. We have so little recent material from our idol .. I could not share it with you.
I think (and hope) there is nothing wrong. Rick is fine and, with Ricky & the Rockets he plays with Mark Hart and Carl Verheyn (guests) From Now On. This is a rehearsal - soundcheck for the concert that took place on August 28th 2018 in Amagansett (New York). Thanks again to Sue Davies

Rick davies its 76 years old. This man is beyond incredible, and to be such an underrated composer, It still doing and enjoying what it seems to be the love of his life. Music will never be the same after knowing you, Rick. Thanks to my dad for all those trips, Supertramp was with us all the time. And it will still be...

...not just him but also the rest of the band. Being too reserved is always counterproductive for a Rock band. If Supertramp had been much more open to the press and the mass-media in general, perhaps today ( after 50 years ) we would not still be faced with the dilemma "strange phenomenon of Rock", "strange phenomenon of Pop" or what else? Everyone would have, in a more benevolent way, considered the band on the same level as the Beatles, Pink Floyd, Doors ...

SuperTramp is considered one of the main snubs by the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame! They've been eligible since 1995 ! They blow everyone else out of the water! Best band EVER! ❤

One of my favorite songs. I remember the first time I heard it. I was in college in my buddy's room down the hall smoking a joint. And then I was blown away.

I was lucky enough to jam with Rick at his home back in 2010 , we ran some tunes and blues then played an evening in Sag Harbor. He was great !
Rick always seemed to be like a fish out of water when he wasn't playing. He mentioned that his fictional band Ricky's Rockets would often gather to play after Sipertramp performances. Incredible energy.
Rick's piano solos and riffs are unmistakable, from ballads to rock epics! Such a unique style.
I don't know if Rick reads these comments but tell him there's more people then he thinks wanting to see or hear more... From Anchorage Alaska
Seconded! At the very least, do something about the official Supertramp site. I feel like a lot of people are interested in what Rick is up to these days. On several forums I've seen people asking about how he's doing. I also keep reminding myself that he once talked about doing a blues album years back. Sad to think he hasn't released anything new since 2002.

Great thread, Joe! I, too, check on RIck's health (and music) often - so was happy when I came across the interview outside the same club, then this. Had him in my thoughts during the pandemic, knowing he'd have to be very careful in his condition - again, happy to hear (at least) no bad news. And progmeup is right - Supertramp's website NEEDS to be updated with news, music, links, etc. Rick, Roger, et al deserve an official site for their legacy.

The heart and soul of Supertramp, Rick Davies! Such an enigma of immense talent! I am brought to tears by Ricks songs every time. Like right now listening to Loverboy off of the album "Even In The Quietest Moments".

So much a part of my teen years, Rick and Roger created some of what I consider the best music of the greatest era of pop/rock music. Would love to see them team up again to give us one more performance. Thanks for posting this, so nice to see Rick still going strong.

I am a big fan of music. I like music of all kinds, from the 80s back. And my favorite group is Supertramp. Rick Davies and Roger Hodgson are Rock Star, and they must be recognized as great musicians. I would like, even just once, to hear the original Supertramp. Thanks both !! Thank you so much for posting this video, my life's been hollow since Rick's health issues were announced in 2015 & now that I see him performing again it's really lifted me.

For me, it's a godsend to see that Rick's alive & doing what he loves within the constraints of his illness.
Rick is extremely lucky to still be alive, he knows it & is being very sensible on taking the path that he is.
He said that plane flights are a thing of the past, which is common with major health issues, so it makes sense that media attention is the last thing he needs.
If he wanted his current situation made public, a simple phone call to the media would've done it, but he didn't. The media is unrelenting & toxic, & he's avoiding it so that he can steer his own boat without outside pressure.
I applaud your passion, but it is ill-placed with the inclusion of the interview.

I echo many of the sentiments here when I say - GREAT to see Rick back and in action! Under-rated and overlooked by many and that is there loss - because as you can read, there are many who appreciate his talents and what he has brought to the music world. Stay strong Rick - we're out here listening and celebrating your music.

It was Bonnie that got me into Supertramp when I was 13 and it makes me happy to see Rick Davies still doing so well. Thanks to him and this fabulous band my life has been influenced in so many wonderful musical ways. Thank you Rick! By the way, this version of From now on is outstanding!
Here in 2022! Supertramp at the forum in Halifax, Nova Scotia in 1976 was my very first concert… Crime of the Century tour… what a show, what a band!

This recording is simply a gem. Supertramp is my favorite group and seeing Mr. Rick Davies in this kind of rehearsal was incredible and amazing, it felt like being there. Thanks for sharing

Rick Davies musically has a trend of country style, folk, jazz and southern rock and this he has already presented since Supertramp's debut album since the year 1970, would fit perfectly with the member of the other band who is purely for style and purpose as well. since it was created and founded around the same time as Supertramp.

I wish I could see him and give a big hug. I'm Brazilian and I've been listening Supertramp since I was 13 and now I'm 62. The best singers best band of the world for me. I'm leaving in New Jersey and so close to him. Every morning going to work in Waine NJ I've been listening every Supertramp 💿. I wish I could give him a call to let him know how much important him and all Supertramp members affected my life my spiritual way of live for all this years. If anyone knows his number and willing to give me, please thank you.

I think Supertramp fans would pay a shitload of $ to hear the original lineup play again. Rick and Roger on stage together again would be amazing.
Be sure of that...If Rick allowed finally a reunion, they could embark on a gold tour...this would be the Dream of most fans...

He hasn't lost the voice and great as ever on the piano. I was reading some Supertramp tapes lost in the 2008 fire at UMG, such great albums.
I think Rick's profound striking of the piano keys is a testament to his passion. Mr. SYNERGY in action.

I am glad he is well. I hesitate to type this, but I am glad that Hodgson will not be invited back to Supertamp. Let’s just leave it alone From Now On.
Hodgson’s ego is tremendous. It’s understandable how a man as humble as Rick would have a hard time getting along with Roger. Hodgson’s guitar playing fit the songs he played on, but Rick and Helliwell’s playing were something to be admired.
But they say hodgson offered for a reunion but Rick rejected all of them?
@@annach7914 it is not the full story.Roger have already had fixed tour dates for his solo tour at that time and he wanted to determinate the tour dates when he is williing to join.
He also wanted to replace Sue who was the manager of ST but also Rick's wife.
I can understand that Rick's choice was his wife
I read dozens of interviews and I'm sure that Roger did want this renuion at all.
He is amazing musician but he had a biggest ego in the pop history.

This was certainly a "Rick" song as were several others--and he sounds as crisp as ever.
Thank You for posting; would love to see more footage. It also looks like G.E. Smith is up there and maybe Cliff Hugo on bass. Great to see Rick healthy and out there - his style is classic and Supertramp's music is timeless.

Thank you so much to have shared this video. I don't know if you know Rick, but tell him that nobody is really forgetted. I'm just a french 18yo guy, I know supertramp and Rick since maybe I'm 10. I love this guy and he is, without any hesitation, my favourite composer. Tell him there are still persons who are thinking of him and who will never forget him. I'm so glad to see him right here.
PS : tell him that I tear my hair out every day to play Another man's woman because there is no sheet for that fucking song :D

Wow! Who knew he was even touring ! Or Rodger Hodgson ? Since 2010 or so !!! I think both tours are cancelled now ..... To bad they couldn't tour together just one more time.....we need them now ......❤

i zone out to this chorus it is really relaxing like your in a trance ,its like when your driving deeply engrossed in day dreaming you forget briefly you are driving . The record version that is .
Simply magic! The venue... well pizzeria, made me very sad at first. But Rick and the band is simply fantastic. Wish there was a video of the actual performance.
After such a great career, age making wiser, would now be time to get over disagreements with Roger and reunite for a couple of gigs or an album together with some of the original members (Bob C.Benberg, John Helliwell, Douggie ..) just for the loyal fans - they are numerous all around the world - a kind of real farewell ans an absolute pleasure for all of us.
Guess the reunited band would fill big halls or even stadium.
