I detached the switch all, lube all switch mini stabilizer, stem, and spring, and foam dampen the hollow bottom case, its really really satisfying result
O-Rings also help a lot, i've put 2 on each key and 3 on bigger keys, it's day and night. I just did the foam placing and the o-ring mods, skipped the lubing mod since i don't have lube or the time to do that.
@@toastymctoastinson they can be when you first install them, it’s about the tolerances on the keycaps if your key is getting stuck or registering multiple presses then you need a smaller thickness o ring. O rings take patience to get them to work well after that you’ll forget they are even there. I have them on my silicone modded 60% wireless board with gateron brown switches and they work fine. I also built a custom full size board as a gift using o rings on gateron blues with a combination of PBT botanical and wood keycaps and they had no issues with the board so far.
If you get pliers you can grab onto the stablizers that are on the bottom of the keyboard and pull they should come out of the keycap and they you can put them onto different keycaps, I thought they could'nt come off untill i tried this
What white thing hahaha, the keys that utilize the stabilizers have clip hooks ends on the sides, ( its weird to explain ), but if you pull/break the ends from the keycaps, the whole key would only be supported by the middle, thus rendering the stabilizer useless since you have a keycap that doesn't even connect to the stabilizer. its sad, I know.

The posts on the razer keycaps are removable and they fit into cherry mx style keycaps you may need some form of pliers to remove them but once you remove them it should be smooth sailing from there.

Go for it! No, not really. I bought a keycap puller off Amazon (a wire one) and it was like 6 bucks. Works great, just make sure not to twist and pull straight up!
Ok. So there's a little plastic sticker like Deal on top of it that you have to peel back first. I'd recommend getting something thin and sturdy and working it under there to be able to peel it up enough to get to the screw.
Any keycaps that have cherry stems (the cross shape) should fit just fine. Keep in mind, certain keycap PROFILES (certain keycaps have different shapes and directions, depending on keyboard typing angle) may not work right on this, due to the Hunstman having an essentially flat typing angle.
Yeah i did the same. I bought HyperX Pudding Caps with german layout for my german layout Huntsman TE Edition and ALL Caps fit perfect. But its a bit hard to get the stabilizers from the Razer Caps. But if u pull hard enough, you can do it :P
Hey I need help is the keyboard connection a Type C usb? I had a custom cable like this but grey and the keyboard just does not work with it, it isn't a PC issue or driver issue, and from comparing the stock cable that came with Razer the connector is actually slightly smaller than a USB C but razer lists it is as a USB C detachable, I'm so confused why it just doesn't work.
@@Gaming_Sparky58 It is USB-C. My USB-C phone charger fits in it but I can't confirm if it works cuz the charger isn't removable from the charger brick. However, I've seen many huntsmans with custom cables so it should work.
This is my first time hearing about ducky pudding keycaps, are they any good and are they better than hyperx ones? I don't really like the feel of the hyperx ones despite being the most popular and to my surprise I googled the price of ducky pudding in my country and they're the same price! should i go for it?
I like them, but now Razer makes their own kind of pudding keycaps that you could go for if you wanted. My WASD has started to wear a bit with my pudding ones, just so you know.

Technically you can lube the mini stabilizers on the switch, but the switch itself I would say no, since you A) Can't take the switch apart without breaking them B) It's an optical switch so any lube in the switch can ruin it potentially.

I'd say it was pretty easy! Tedious, but easy overall. Just gotta have some confidence and you'll be fine haha. You can TECHNICALLY lube individual switches, however, since these are Optical Mechanical switches, the lube can obstruct the laser which will essentially kill the switch. If you were to lube them, I'd recommend only putting some on the wire of the switches (the stabilizer) to help with that, but nothing else. Probably Krytox 205g0, that's a solid go to. I wouldn't use dielectric for those, too thick. Also, not a fan of dry spray lube, but if you really wanna you could, but again, you risk killing the switches.
If you lube then you are fine, I OVER lubed them and they worked fine. The key cap itself is just a Percision light blocker (if reds Idk about purples) All the components are is plastic a spring and and a shell (and stabilizers). Just pop them out (as they are hot swappable to other razer opticals) and use spray lube or krytox 203. In fact I’d say go ham as you cannot over lube these guys! I have a few more tricks on the proses and their is a video that I followed. You can look at my Instagram @drew_the_drew or look up mod vids and the video is the one where he mods with only basic tools, he is the guy I followed.
That's the one with Viola switches right? I don't think that board is hotswappable, so the switches themselves would be much harder to lube (but I think still technically possible). I'm not sure of the stabs on the board unfortunately either.
@@Alex_Mewtwo not really, i actually bought it because one: i been wanting a TKL keyboard, so I can have more space on my desk, two, at the time, I was using the Logitech G613 keyboard, it was decent until keys started to double press, which became unusable. So I ended up buying the Razer Huntsman.
If the sounds irritate you I'd recommend it! Might be different on that board since I'm pretty sure it's not a standard bottom row so certain keycaps won't work, but for sound and lube and all that it should be cool.
you know for F5 to F7 u can use ducky keycaps, juste press FN and u'll now those 3 keys have a function so u just need to remember with media key it is x)
Fun fact!: you can pull off the stabilizers on the key caps (I’d use your teeth but be careful!, you could also CAREFULLY uses pliers to pull them off too...)

I used foam in the case to make it sound deeper, lubed all of the switch (You can just lube them without desoldering), Added a LOT of lube on the stabilisers and added masking tape to the bottom of the pcb. Mine has absolutely no rattle and sounds DEEP and THOCCY.
Yeah, not much you can do when you can't lube the switches themselves! Definitely better but still not great. My other keyboard video is better for sure.
You can take the stabilizers off the keycaps and put new ones on btw.

4:42 i think you can pull off the white thing under the keycaps that need stabs. Then put that on your new keycap and it should work;)

I'd recommend thicker stuff for stabs personally, but yeah! Spring lube is pretty thin, so it wouldn't be as good for stabs.

Personally I've found O-Rings to leave a more squishy sound and feel, which to some people may be what they want and like, but just not for me!

i heard that dry wd-40 is good. you spray inside the switch. im not too sure tho. there are some videos on it.

Nope, unfortunately. I'm pretty sure you can only use RAZER optical mechanical ones. So if you had some of the RAZER purples you could.
