The mcdonalds logo doesnt have the 'caution hot' on it. Bad design. One of the dots he added is way out of a place and looks horrible. M logo is wrong color and doesnt have R. These logos are bad. SO many bad details

Love the Taco Bell design, but as someone who did the pricing/cost for a very large packaging company, the printing would be a complete nightmare to complete, and would cost a significant amount of $/1000 prints. Most commercial paperboard prints can have 6, maybe 7 colors + a coating per pass, and an additional color pass nearly doubles the cost. With all of the intricate design on it, spoilage would also cut into cost. The paperboard carton for the taco would cost more than the ingredients for the taco itself.
This is actually a fascinating take. So many comments here imply that brands are dropping the ball or are bad at design, when reality is the the commenters don't have the full picture. Would enjoy seeing Brandon try a "business friendly" design challenge once day and show how tough it might be.

A lot goes into packaging other than just design and material. Sometimes designs just aren't possible without specialty equipment.
I'm sorry to be a critiquing nerd, but I don't think the Subway wrapper redesign would work for, well, a wrapper. You've done it before with Steamed Hams, right? This looks more like a design for a box the sandwich would be kept in. Also, the Taco Bell design IS better, don't get me wrong... but it feels more like Taco Bell during an event than a more expensive Taco. You'd need a more painted style like the murals you see all around a Mexican restaurant. And this is optional, but making the brand name something like "Bell de Taco" would sell the authentic (and more expensive) feeling far better. Fortunately, the Apple Pie box looks just fine. You're still a great brand designer. Keep at it!
i have a degree in advertising, and i hate modern minimalistic advertising. and still, the only design i liked was the mcdonalds one. But that's just on a personal basis, because it absolutely does not go with the brand.

I just scrolled to a point I thought would be interesting, right at the end of a segment, and I managed to land right into the ad-read. Then I saw the heatmap of the video and I noticed there was a HUGE bump right above the ad-read. HOW did you manage to know that's where EVERYONE was going to click? Pretty amazing to me how you managed to put the ad-read right at the point where people instinctively scroll to. Kudos to you for that, insane insight.
It's impossible to express through a comment how much I enjoy and love watching your videos, even the way you edit and present them. I know the process takes a lot of time, whether it's the editing or designing part, but you nail it every time 10 out of 10. It's like the feeling of lying down in bed after a hard day. im gonna be honest, this doesnt work that well and has a bit of the opposite effect ironically enough, a lot of "cheap" brands use excessively fancy and "expensive" looking designs to make themselves look better than they really are while im not the biggest fan of the original designs, a simplistic and abstract looking style can in some sense appear more luxurious and avant garde
I love these videos because they aren't just simple content like many others do, Brandon explains us everything and we even learn miscellaneous things along the way like the fact that there are 300+ species of cacti in Mexico! Great video as always!

When designing the wrap or whatever, the company always keeps their colors in mind as it’s their identity so for example for McDonald’s whenever you see red and yellow u instantly think of McDonald’s, same for subway that is why u should keep their original logo colors

I was so stumped on why I couldn’t figure out why I didn’t feel like your design didn’t work for Taco Bell and I think I figured it out. On the original wrapper/packaging it clarifies what the meal is or maybe what it’s like. I would had loved to see you adapt some way to present what meal your getting in your design instead of focusing in on the food your getting is Taco Bell. Still a great design! Just my opinion ❤
