Somnath means "The Lord of the Moon". It's also the name of the chairman of the Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO), who carried out the Chandrayaan 3.
How about the one in charge of foreign minister Jaishankar
Chandrayan mission 1 (2008) landing spot was named Jawahar point (commemorating Jawahar Lal Nehru, India's ex Prime Minister)
But thankfully this current dispensation has this level of wisdom to name the landing point as ShivShakti Point.❤

Just to be correct other people's understanding:
The half man (with skull) and half woman (with flowers) is a depiction of God Shiv (& Shiva) which is called ardh-nari-nareshwar (& ardh-nari-nareshwara) which literally means half man (musculine force) and half woman (feminine force).
When you utter a word "Shiv"; it represents musculine force but when you put extra 'a' (i.e Shiva) then it is considered to be as feminine force (Sometimes adding extra 'a' in a name represents pluralism also..).
It also inform us that both forces are necessary to bring life into an existence (physical form).
Now, why they represent as musculine force wearing skull and feminine force wearing flowers is:
A physical form of life need regidity (skull represents rigidness) of musculine force as well as delicacy (flowers represents delicacy) of feminine force.
If either of these force fell apart then, life seas to exist.. this is why both are equally important and worshipped together...🙏🏻🙏🏻

Shivshakti means men cannot be complete without women.....shiv is infinity and shakti means energy through which this universe is generated. As in this mission there is participation of lots of women at high post like mission manager ,etc so to give credit to their efforts Govt decided to give the name of shivshakti for the place.

I was watching your video, which does not have full and proper information about Durga. Durga is the combined power( energy )of Goddess Parwati( Lord Shiva’s Wife), Goddess Laxmi (Lord Vishnu’s Wife) and Goddess Sarswasti ( Lord Bhahma’s Wife). Therefore She is the Goddess of Power, wealth and knowledge. Combining these all three she fight against demons. Please let me know if you want more info on this ❤❤

What is the harm in admitting that shiv shakti are Hindu Gods and Goddesses whom Hindus worship... Shiv shakti point is named after Our God's and we are proud of it.... We do not have to be defensive by calling it energy points or any such thing...
India is a Sanatan land, our scientists are from Sanatan land. It is an IndIAN VEHICLE which landed ON THE MOON ......WHY ON EARTH CAN WE NOT NAME THE LANDING POINT AFTER OUR GODS AND GODDESSES....
I also thought the same until I watched Dr. Vineet's TRS clips and other explanation videos of Hindu gods and goddesses. Shiv and Shakti are definitely Hindu god and goddess, and at the same time, they are manifestations of energy. I am not saying you are wrong but at the same time, I am trying to explain the other side of the coin.

We Indians are extremely good in asking questions and doubting the answers provided irrespective of the subject in hand and our knowledge on that subject.

Hypocrisy - When they were in power in 2008 they named place where Impactor hit Moon for readings was named Jawahar Point (1st PM ) though Mining rights are given to people who have landed there.
