U know what Amanda...there is a form of Shiva and Parvati which is worshipped as ardh narishwar, which literally means half man half woman and some people consider that as the most superior form of all cause it is the divine union of the masculine and the feminine.

Yes Amanda. Its official big G is a SHE. At least in the Shakthi tradition of Hinduism the origin story goes as thus. In the beginning there was only one GOD called Adi (meaning primordial ) Shakthi ( meaning energy ). She felt she needed to bring more structure to creation and wanted to delegate her duties hence she created the Trinity ( its the Hindu Trinity ) Shiva the destroyer Vishnu the preserver and Brahma the creator. After the Trinity came into being they took charge of their duties but after a while they felt their creator Adi Shakthi was very chaotic and they wanted to set things right. As we all know energy can not be created or destroyed but can be changed different form. The Trinity could not overpower her but they managed to transform her into three main attributes of her ie Shakthi (Energy or power) Lakshmi (Wealth / Resource ) Saraswathy ( Knowledge / Knowhow / Arts and Sciences ). The Trinity then take one partner each that best suits their attribute. Shiva ( also means the nothing / the space between space ) pairs with Shakthi helping manifest something out of nothing (zero point energy !?) . Vishnu the preserver needs Lakshmi (resources ) to maintain the creation and finally Brahma the creator needs Saraswathy ( The knowledge giver) to aid in proper creation. Its also said that post her (Adi Shakthi) split into three forms all her three forms initially did not have any remembrance of their unified form and its their respective male spouses who re narrated the origin story to them. The mischievous Trinity its said manipulated the narration that made these girls jealous of each other and could not stand the company of the other and its for that reason its said till date no one person can have power wealth and knowledge together.

Actually in all indian religiouns including Sikhism Buddhism and Jainism, the god and universe are ultimately one. God manifests as universe. The supreme being manifests as everything. Even a tree is one of the several forms of supreme being. And these forms are not constant or true or real. They are illusion or Maya.
