    Thanks, Tim, for taking us along...I made sure to eat lunch before watching, but you still made me hungry for seafood. I like snails too! I'm too old to run up those stairs (81), so I am happy to enjoy the food vicariously. Love you, Tim! 🤗❤️

    Thank you Tim, enjoyable to watch as always. Consider this a PSA if anyone sees mantis shrimp in a wet market and you buy them live, be very careful. Pound for pound they are one of the scariest things in the ocean. They lie in wait and will lash out at prey so quickly it emits a cracking sound underwater and will easily chop a fish in half in the blink of an eye. I have seen one snap a pencil in an aquarium! Thought they would taste better since they eat fish. Sorry not trying to turn your channel into a nature documentary.😁

    The one's you said were langoustines are actually sea mantis. Also you should visit San Sebastian Spain one day and try the different Pintxos. I was there last year and they have one of the best foods I've ever tasted. Right up there with Japanese and French cuisine.

    Tim never fails to surprise the viewers with a new awesome adventure! That looks like a Grand feast place. Vietnamese cuisine is awesome! The fresh water prawn and mantis shrimp and all the Aqua/ Seafood looks very desirable. From what I gather food in Vietnam for tourists is very inexpensive and that is a Top of the Line place as far as quality and cost go's in Vietnam! If I am ever in Vietnam, I will have to check that wonderful place out! In my 2nd language, Estonian Vesi means Water. That is very honorable that you show your mom! I'd like to see taller sides made even a Snake Boot version from Vessi! Wishing you safe fun travels, adventures, and journeys!

    When it comes to buffets, I prioritize quality over quantity. As I age, my appetite has decreased to only a third of what most teenagers can eat. A buffet in Vietnam that offers good quality vegetables and seafood sounds appealing and worth trying. I'm impressed by the waterproof shoes you shared. Despite their price, I plan to order a pair later. Thank you for sharing the information. Also, I enjoyed watching the video; it was great!

    Hey Coka, everything looked great, yummy seafood. When I saw u pick up that yellow sashimi fish I knew u wouldn't eat, what looked to me like a perilla leaf under it. If u don't eat the whole thing u probably didn't get the whole experience of all the flavors melding together. I have noticed u have an aversion towards veggies because potato is your favorite salad lol By the way your mom is adorable. Thanks for another great video. Take care and safe travels.

    • @minlui2752
      @minlui2752 ปีที่แล้ว

      @girly whirly You are observant. Are you a Asian person? I am Chinese and familiar with those leaf. You said you knew he wouldn’t eat that perilla leaf. Those leaf are usually edible, but it’s not unusual Not to eat it. However, you said eating the yellow sashimi fish with the leaf is getting the whole experience of all the favors melding together. So, this is something different which I am not familiar with as a yellow sashimi fish with a perilla leaf is not a regular sashimi item. It seems like you are saying that perilla leaf has unusual good flavors. I mean usually those leaf underneath certain food items don’t have any special flavors so it’s just a decoration vegetable.

    • @girlywhirly4971
      @girlywhirly4971 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@minlui2752 Tyvm Min Lui. Perilla leaves normally have a basil like minty flavor. I suppose it could b used just as a garnish. Idk if it was meant to b eaten in that particular instance but that is something I personally would have tried to c if it added to the experience. U could b right and if it was just for garnish and not meant to b part of the dish it wouldn't hurt anything to eat it. In fact perilla leaves have great health benefits.😁

    Not sure if they are langoustines. We call them mantis prawns in Asia. Very sweet if fresh, better than prawns and crabs even. But very easily mushy if only slightly unfresh. The yellow coloured sashimi is Nishin (herring with fish roe).

      Thank you so much! The Mantis shrimp did become a bit mealy...the herring was quite nice though

    So this comment is 1 year after post of video but I were at that same place in Hanoi in july 2023. You must have picked a really good time to be there because when we went it was CHAOS!.. all the people at your visit looked so polite. When we came there were a "riot" when the new crabs and oysters came up to the serving area. :'D
    But compared to buffets at fancy hotels that I've tried I still believe that this is one of the best I've ever been to in my life. Second were a seafood buffet outside of Bangkok in Thailand where they had a "all durian you can eat" for a extra cost. Based on me being the only white on that one and I like durian felt like I were accepted by the locals. :P
    But this buffet wins because of the vararity.. if you only want seafood or only meat they have your hand...... now after being in Thailand this year I still feel the same BUT it would have been so much better if they had more fruits and if they would have Durian I would have started my move to Hanoi yesterday!

    Tim, the cheap cost of the food in Vietnam blows my mind. I though seafood buffets in Canada was value- added as it’s cheaper than NYC and Vegas but my trip to HCM city and eating the buffet took this to the next level for cost and value. Goes to tell you how much hyperinflation we have here in the US and Canada. 🙄🙄

    Another wonderful adventure! I would have tried everything you did, except the snails, yuck. Love how the desserts were served in small portions so you could enjoy so many of them. Be well!

    For $17 USD you can't beat the price of that buffet. Especially with all the seafood.

      It was a nice find, but the cost of food here is very low relatively speaking

    Wow, that was a great buffet. When I went to buffets years back, I tended to avoid the cold seafood. Often a bit bland and overcooked for me. Would love to know what was the topping on the grilled shellfish? Looked like some scallions (green onion), maybe ginger and fried shallots. Do you remember? Your new-found-friend was cute. Thanks for posting! Love a cheery Tim Lee on a Sunday. God bless.

    Hi Tim, great vid of this place which i intend to visit next year after watching yr vid. I think this place is a branch out of the original Sen Tay Ho Restaurant which is much bigger size buffet than this..which i recommend you to visit if you got a chance. They served more than 200 dishes there.. I've tried the food there 6years ago..pretty impressive n they got a nice garden with a little lake. Enjoy yr trip😊

    That sashimi looked really interesting! I have no idea what it is and I thought I knew what all types of sashimi looked like. I was also impressed how everything was so fresh - just prepared right there on site. Always appreciate how consistently kind you are to all the workers - no matter where you are.
