Independents like you are the life blood for ordinary motorists, local to me ALL the main dealers are hopeless. Unfortunately my go to garage is closing and finding knowlegable and approachable garages like yours is not easy. Well done keep up the great work.
Tells you everything when the dealerships don't want to touch a vehicle. Manufacturers don't produce vehicles to repair, they want people buying a new one every 3 - 5 years.
This customer was lucky I reckon that the dealer didn't want the work; can you imagine the cost of it at dealer labour rates 🤑 But it's pretty poor that dealers don't even want to work on Their Own vehicles! Good job it went to someone who cares about turning out a decent job 👏 👍 🎉 #getitsent
Hi Baz. another great video, when you do the tightening of the crankshaft bolt, what tool do you use for the degrees, or don't you one, it would be fantastic if you could do a quick arooney how to on how to do it please.
Yesterday went to look at customers car as it turned off on her . Long story short if you see your coolant is getting low and you need to start topping it up get it to a garage for diagnoses and repaired . She now needs a new engine and it only had 60k on it shinning silver engine ! Was a 1l eco boost 2015 focus .
@@itswais77 if I’m honest they are built to last 100k miles and throw away everything is put together with silicone , wet belt only last around 50k anything after that i would start worrying lol. I recommend staying away from all “wet belt “ engines and Vauxhall Lool
A 62 plate one I did a cambelt on had the same set up at the top end but the crank sensor was at the starter end not at the crank pulley so I didn’t have to time the crank pulley up but my dads 13 plate one did so I guess that was a change over year
I know it's nothing to do with this video, but have you seen any oil leaks between the sump and engine block or found oil under the headgasket on the 1.0 Ecoboost? Figured you've worked on so many that if anyone's seen this before, you will. Keep up the great content!
Could be anything buddy, best bet clean it down with some brake and clutch cleaner and monitor it over a week or so see if you can spot where it's coming from
To be honest Baz, the customer is better off with you "Kind and caring! The Customer is not alone with this feeling as it has happened to us all i should think? Unfortunately alot of people through work commitments or non technicals minds do not know the functions of the parts and to save yourself you should watch Baz Meredith more to get an idea of the issue that can arise and how to fix, or at least to be able to a trust worthy mechanic, because they are far and few between.
There are just some ford eco boost engine i just dont touch anymore because there are too many parts to remove just to either lock the flywheel or crankshaft at times.
My wife’s 2003 1.6 focus had the timing belt was replaced after 10y it was supposed to have had a new water pump fitted at the same time but 16 months later about 2.000miles the water pump failed. The job was done at a Volkswagen specialist.but the garage has shut down now I wonder why her water pump is driving off the timer belt so the job was done twice with in 2.000miles i’ve been experienced bad workmanship for me and dealers in the past. Are cars go to independent Garages now we always get a good job done
Well done Baz great job and what a faff just to do a damn water pump.Fords backward engineering. No wonder they didn,t want to do it as they knew what it entailed.
I see now why one drove for one and a half hours for you to fix his car, I reckon I would drive further but hopefully my 150 TDCi is better built than that awfully designed thing.

great comment, and I whole-heartedly agree!
I'm going to have to fly you over to the states to change my wet belt in a few years! If I could afford it! 😅. Your T-Belt Master!
Your Knowledge on these different types of engines is invaluable to your customers !!

My old Mk2 Cortina was soooo easy to work on compared to the crap made today.
All i can say is i wish all mechanics were as thorough as you , you certainly take pride in your work, love the video's 👍
Plenty of us are thorough, but the slapdash, corner cutters make the rest of us look bad. It's the same in company workshops.

Indeed. Dealers just seem to want to do annual oil changes at £300 a pop.
Lazy Dealership mechanics and or don't even know how to do a timing belt. 😮
not having the timing belt pulley keyed to the crankshaft just seems like a recipe for disaster, well done Ford
Pretty common and not a big deal. If the correct procedure is followed it’s a non-issue
Good evening Mr cool guy Baz 😊 That was a great fix with plenty of good information and tips 👍🏻

Lucky it wasn’t the cylinder liners, very common to crack on them and loose coolant that way. Good video

If Carlsberg did Mechanics 👍
Do you keep all timing tools in when torquing crankshaft bolt to spec
Have you had any experience with the 1.6 z-tec engine sounding like a diesel
Crystal ball question buddy! Without hearing it, possibly be a rod bearing or anything
does the timing belt have to be in the middle of the pulley
Yes, they normally centralise themselves when running
Baz can you please say the The Great Fire of Ponty Pandy in your next video 😂😂😂
😂😂😂😂😂 ye I'll try

Why don't I see you fixing Toyotas? Are they that good?
They are well thats my opinion haha.
Because they are unreal cars.... No further comment 😂😂😂
They have problems but are usually pretty well engineered
In my experience Toyotas only need 8k miles intervals services and track rods as they love to start knocking lol.
Pure junk when main dealer dosnt want the job 😂
