Making Vani to sing. Managing the notations to various instrument players. Synchronizing the same for a 3.5 minute song. Making the players to play exactly to bring out such a melody. MSV deserves MBA in music and an award equal to World's best composer.
Crystal clear voice, 100 % perfect rendition by the singer, great music. This singer got much less accolades for her renditions compared to Susheela, Janaki and Chitra. Unfortunately this singers voice is not used much by Ilayaraja Sir in his compositions.
He did injustice to her have her some mediocre songs. A R Rehman too could have given some songs to her. Wonder if it is their bad luck our ours that we did not get to hear some great compositions

Please hear this song with high volume speakers and then you shall understand our MELLISAI MANNAR'ss beauty in synchronizing variety of uncountable instruments bringing melody in the greatest manner with VANI JAYARAM's sweet voice in the front and whenever she requires a voice rest then the mixing the instruments in an apt manner. In the third paragph the opening is a good smooth flute followed by fast about 50 violins then again after vani's voice starting from " Palliin vasaal kadhavadithu", the tabla progresses reflecting the aspiration of the lady when falls in love. At the end music end when vani jayaram ends. Great Great MSV to compose a tune like this. I love it.
Thanks for this wonderful comment. I have been hearing this song for over 10 years for all the musical nuances that legend MSV has poured in to this song. I shout myself out with joy when I hear the tabla in second charanam ( tutut tudu tudum...). The raga that he has chosen and Vani amma's dedicated well metered voice makes the song brim with mangalam. Oh my MSV.

Delectful composition from MSV - based on Thilang Ragam and Excellent rendition by Vani Jayaram. In each stanza, when a line is repeated, we could notice the Difference in the Sangathis given by Vani. This reflects the amount pains taken by MSV in bringing out the best from the Play Backs in each of his Songs. Brilliant Violin Score backed by a beautiful percussion support & then a short interlude with the Sitar & a Tabla - before the start of the 1st stanza - that is, immediately after the score of Nadaswaram & Thavil are quite Exciting!!
Nice points, Sir. But Saregama with their rationing approach have cut the sangathis (same treatment to that P Susheela beauty : vasanthatthil oru naal) as well as most of the interludes!!!
