    The biggest difference between the iPad and iPod Touch is the size. Making the iPod Touch more pocketable.
    Finally a review that clarifies this. So disappointed when my iPad didn’t fit in my front pocket.

  • @frankanderson5012
    @frankanderson5012 4 ปีที่แล้ว +7

    Is it worth it? If you want one then yes, so those saying no or who buys one nowadays, are making comments that are pointless and irrelevant. As is comparing it to an iPad which is not a portable music player or the iWatch which is an expensive luxury with a battery life of less then a day if you were using as a music player.
    I’ve had my current iPod for over five years. It’s tough, small and the battery lasts for ages and still seems as good as when I brought it. It saves me killing the battery on my, much more expensive phone.
    I don’t get why people who don’t think it’s worth it, make such a big deal about it. Why do you care? Move on and let those of us who do like it, enjoy it. No one is saying you have to buy it.

    heres the thing, there are still plenty of reason for using it.
    . for kids to use.
    . for developers and busniess
    . as a secondary device/ mp3 player
    . as a gift
    . as a gaming device
    . and, as a back up.
    Probably more that I'm missing out on. It hold more reasons then tech TH-camrs are showing you. Plus, if it weren't for the iPod, your favorite IOS or Android device wouldn't exist. But it is turning 20 years next year, so maybe apple will discontinue it. But that mac line up is still going strong. so maybe it will survive. BTW, the apple watch IS NOT an ipod.

      @ Mr Dannie
      Honestly, all the iphones users say the ipod 7 is not worth it, and to a certain degree that is right since its more powerful than the ipad Mini 4 released in 2015(Very slightly higher CPU due to A10)) The ipod touch isn't meant to compete with an iphone as a future proof device like the iphone 11 or X as it doesn't need to since it gets the same apps/games with 2GB Ram in a thinner, lighter device that is essentially a phone without the hassle of cellular contracts..plus the two disabled cores in ipod is better to prevent over heating. Ovarall, the ipod isn't much different to a 6s and is only 4 generations behind current iphone 11, which honestly isn't really that much better besides the future proof of 2x ram/storage/Cpu so I don't see the ipod 7 being outdated in games until 2022-2023 when 3GB base games is used. I will get this ipod soon in max 256 storage

    As a non-apple person, I see the iPod touch as an appealing alternative to iPads for playing music with a portable midi controller. A portable speaker (with aux, of course), a midi controller and some lightweight music making apps make for a dreamy, fun and portable setup
    Although I don't think music COMPOSITION apps are very good for the screen size... iPad/full PC is king there. But for live playing and noodling, this has appeal for sure

      If a parent can afford it, sure it is. My kids have limited screen time - 30 minutes on weekdays, 45 minutes on weekends - so I'm not one of those parents who uses screens to nullify their kids, but an iPod Touch or an iPad Mini are great for kids. The iOS ecosystem of education apps and age-appropriate games is unmatched. There's nothing "pampered" about wanting kids to grow up with some digital skills so long as it's appropriated limited and remains a healthy tool not an addiction.

    One thing to consider now is that the Ipad still doesn't have the Health app while the Ipod does. Ios 14 now support almost hearing aid like amplification using the air pod pro earbuds. But you have to have access to the Health App to import a hearing test. Unless you have an expensive iphone you are out of luck with an Android.

    My recommendation is just get a smatphone and a ipod for the best of both worlds and I will get this ipod soon in max 256 storage

Even iPhone 11 Pro Max has muffled speakers when u use it in landscape mode. Granted, there is the earpiece that could also give our sound, but the sound is still greatly interfered.

    CPU power really isn’t that bad and battery isn’t that bad, if you take the extra time to disable things in the settings and yes it’s small but let’s be real it’s not gonna last all day. I’d like it thicker if that’s what’s needed for a bigger battery life. I use this along with an iPad mini 5. Speed is not to different not like your gonna be waiting to long for apps to download or load. The speaker isn’t awful this guy doesn’t know what he’s talking about. There’s an eq in settings for you to change for music speaker is very good for its size loud to. TH-cam is great on here music and FaceTime. I’d say get this if you want a iPod touch 7 great little guy to own.

  • @GalaxyNexus1
    @GalaxyNexus1 4 ปีที่แล้ว

    9to5Mac I'm hoping you or anyone in the comments can answer this question...I plan on buying this but not a single review I've watched discusses in depth actual music migration to the device! I have a huge physical music collection (hundreds of CDs), most of which are already downloaded to my iMac hard drive and iTunes. My iMac has been inoperable for about 6 years, so I haven't used it or iTunes, but copied my iTunes library, years ago, into Google Play Music (which is soon to be dead). It's my understanding that iTunes is also now dead, so my question is, will I be able to transfer all my CDs to this iPod? And how exactly would I do it? I do already have Apple Music, and plan on getting a MacBook in the near future. Is there a way I can transfer all of my iTunes content from my old hard drive to Apple Music? Or is that only an iTunes thing? Also, will I be able to use an optical drive to transfer any new music from CDs to this iPod Touch, via Apple Music or iTunes, or some other built in Apple way? I hope someone can answer these questions! It's been years since I've used an iPod or Mac and no one reviewing this product is focussing on it's original intention..which is music!!!!
