I miss my iPod classic SO much. That thing lasted SO long and it was so reliable. When mine finally died, I could no longer find one to buy except second hand online and I was worried that they wouldn't work.
I just recently got a new iPod touch. I know my phone CAN play music, but i prefer to use my phone's memory for games and photos, not songs! I am dreading the day ipods disappear entirely :(

iPods never die, the battery just becomes too old. You take your iPod to get a new battery installed and then it’s good as new. The only problem is that as time goes by the batteries for the iPod become harder to find.

Walkmen were actually pretty small (sizes range but generally around 13 by 7 cm) and the cassettes actually sounded really nice (still use old sound formats as a hobby). Plus, with 90 mines of music per cassette it was quite portable.

Important note: most iPod nanos are affected by battery expansion and for reason are a fire hazard. They were very small which allows no headroom for expansion and causes black spots on the screen. Swollen batteries were hard to repair on some models because it involves soldering and you have to slide the internals out. Due to this, Apple recalled the first generation of the nano in 2011 and the iPod nano lineup is the most notorious one amongst the iPod community.

A couple of years ago, my aunt moved from another country. She brought an iPod Nano (the recent one) and I was impressed by this. The songs were just some German podcast that's she is trying to learn German from. As she recently moved to Michigan, she told me to keep it and I was happy. To this day, the iPod feels very valuable to me even though it doesn't have a bunch of features.

It was, like, the only viable way for me to listen to music. Someone stole the thing while she was in a birthday party, i remember getting really sad about it. And then after a while i got an ipod touch !! It was awesome and it was my main eletronic device at the time. I had like a crappy phone back then, used only for calls, and did everything else in the ipod with wi fi connection and whatnot. I have so many good memories with this thing. I still have it, and i know it works last i checked, but i dont have the charging cable anymore. Still hold it close to my heart though!! Nowadays i just find it easier to use my phone for music. Which is quite a shame, honestly. I know we're at a point where technology has evolved so much we don't need multiple devices for different things. Im thankful for that i guess. But i just think that things had so much more charm back then. Before smartphones, phones had awesome designs and they dared be creative and fun and different. No phone was like the other. Now everything looks the same. Even the last ipod is just an iphone but it cant make calls, clearly looking the part. Idk. Im venting i guess. I know technology is supposed to be the easiest, best thing it can be. But its so... boring. Idk if its just the bostalgia kicking in, and maybe it is, but i feel like a lot of new technologies simply lack personality. Amyway im gonna stop rambling now lmao.

@Flatlife you’re kind of wrong about the iPod classic there was 7 generations. But the 6th and 7th generation looked exactly the same. The difference was coding in the iPod itself. The early 6th GEN iPods. The 7th generation was released around 2009-ISH. The difference between the 6th and 7th GEN is The serial number and for anyone modding an iPod the amount of storage you could hold The 16th only hold up 128gb modified in the early ones. The 7th GEN can hold a lot more when modified due to the coding inside the software. Also the 7th GEN iPod was my first iPod ever. and it was either the s”6th or 7th gen iPod that they added to suffix classic The other iPods were just referenced as full size iPods. Also Apple had a trade-in policy where if your 7th GEN iPod was damaged only the 7th GEN you could get it replaced for a hefty cost of either $250 Canadian or $350 Canadian depending on when you did it.

I remember once seeing an iPod nano in person. It was 2014 - 15 and I was like 6 -7 years old. I was traveling with my grandma and aunt in my aunt’s car. I thought it was like a mini phone and I did want one. I didn’t know what it meant, but I remember seeing those app buttons. I still want one to this day, even if it is outdated.

This video explains why iPod Touch isn't dead yet.
    Fun Fact:
iPod Touch = iPhone for kids (nowadays)
It has similar features and specs to the iPhone.
Apple underclocked the CPU from iPod Touch on purpose because of the battery with low capacity (around 1043 mAh).
