    You are so right about app design. I have a smart phone from ~ 2013 that I opened recently. Snapchat was chat and friends list, thats it. No news, no stories, no scroll. Iphone apps especially are now 99% bloat with 2% functionality.

    • @reysu

    This is awesome and will definitely try this!
    I have used RSS feeds for personal media consumption recently, and its pretty analogous to the benefits listed here, except its mainly for PC. (rss feeds are an aggregator for all of ones internet feeds for things like youtube, twitter, news, blogs)
    What I've noticed is that when scrolling isn't the "fun" part of your screen time, its easier to assess whether the content or tool is valuable or not. Especially if you use social media without their original GUI or any GUI at all, it completely changes the experience of it.

Realized that I need to stop this so I've been doing the same for about 2 years now and I can guarantee that it worked. • @ezrarobin_

      Figured it out! If anyone is wondering, when in the extension menu for UnTrap (while in safari), there is a drop down menu (default set to home page), from here you can access all the different pages in TH-cam, and set your settings appropriately! For shorts there is a section dedicated to it, and you can also block them from showing up in your subscriptions page!!
      Truthfully, I’d go subpage by subpage and turn off all the features you don’t want!!

    Do you still use your habit trackers on your phone? Or do you only use them in your large bullet journal? I have the app on the phone and I enjoy the way that looks, what are some alternatives you've found for the boxes you have on the right side of the monthly part of your journal?

    • @reysu

      i stopped using habit trackers on my phone, they were always just an intermediary way before I logged them on my journal
      i use a heatmap to track deep work sessions and run sessions though called lifeofdiscipline

    In your experience, how easy is it to get back to a regular phone for a short period and set up the dumbphone again? For instance there are tons of apps that I only use when I travel (an app I use for my itinerary, app to connect to my camera, photo edititing app, airline app , etc.). These are not apps I use everyday, but I don't want to have to delete and reinstall them every time.
    Thank you so much for your video, very informative!

    • @reysu
      @reysu  7 วันที่ผ่านมา

      imo it's a bit tedious to go back to a regular phone for a short period and then there's some friction to set it all up again. I would recommend just having those apps on your phone so you don't have to change anything when you have a trip

    • @reysu
      @reysu  5 วันที่ผ่านมา

      in screentime, turn on content restrictions and you can disable downloading apps. the app store then is removed and you won't see any stuff in the search. i also turned off siri spotlight recommendations.
      if you find yourself turning it back on you can have someone set a screentime password
