Matchbox custom project Mercedes W123. Diecast model toy.

For today's project, I used two Mercedes W123 models from Matchbox. These are contemporary 1: 64 scale models. In the video, you can turn on the subtitles in your language with a commentary to the activity. I changed the paintwork on the actual car to metallic red and the other one was a custom caravan. I added racks to the Mercedes and the trailer to show the way of traveling from the end of the 70s. The Mercedes W123 station wagon was a typical family car and was used for long vacation trips. I changed the painting of the chassis to black to make the chrome on the bumpers more attractive. To complete the project, I made - as usual - a box. This time it was my vision of the packaging, in which I used the elements of boxes characteristic for Matchbox produced in the 70s. Renowacja to jedno (Chodzi o przywrócenie modelu do stanu pierwotnego).
Taka przeróbka to "wysoka sztuka rzemiosła"... Nie ma żadnych ograniczeń dla własnych pomysłów i (prawie) wszystko jest możliwe. 😜
Wspaniała praca, mój drogi Pawle, jestem zachwycona. Pomysł wykonania dyszla od razu z podwozia, okno z przodu przyczepy (z "chromowaną" ramą) oraz dodatki (bagaż dachowy, deska surfingowa) nadają modelowi "to pewne coś". 😎👍🏼
A czerwono-czarna kolorystyka z klasycznymi kołami "Superfast" jest po prostu genialna.
Sam od czasu do czasu robię konwersje (ostatnią była "flota strażacka" dla znajomego kolekcjonera z Sydney), więc wskazówki takie jak ta są bardzo pomocne 🙏🏼👍🏼

A restoration is one thing (It's a matter of restoring a model to its original state).
Such a conversion is the "high art of craftsmanship"... There are no limits to your own ideas and (almost) anything is possible. 😜
A wonderful job, my dear Paul, I'm thrilled. The idea of making the drawbar from the chassis straight away, the window at the front of the trailer (with "chromed" frame) and the accessories (roof luggage, surfboard) give the model "that certain something". 😎👍🏼
And the red/black colour scheme with classic "Superfast wheels" is simply ingenious.
I do conversions myself from time to time (the last one was a "fire fleet" for a collector mate in Sydney) So tips like this are very helpful 🙏🏼👍🏼

Eine wunderbare Arbeit, mein lieber Paul, ich bin begeistert. Die Idee, aus dem Chassis gleich die Deichsel zu fertigen, das Fenster vorn im Anhänger (mit "verchromtem" Rahmen) und die Accessoires (Dachgepäck, Surfbrett) geben dem Modell "das gewisse Etwas. 😎👍🏼
Und erst die Farbgebung rot/schwarz mit klassischen "Superfast-rädern", einfach genial.
Ich mache selbst hin und wieder Umbauten (das letzte war eine "Feuerwehrflotte" für einen Sammlerfreund in Sydney) Da sind solche Tipps sehr hilfreich 🙏🏼👍🏼

Hallo Paul, eine fantastische Arbeit. 3 kleine Dinge hätte ich anders gemacht. Frontscheinwerfer vor dem Verchromen komplett silbern lackiert, da der 123er die Scheinwerfer komplett matt silbern hat. Der Anhängerhaken sollte schwarz lackiert werden und beim Anhänger vor dem Lackieren die Tankklappe zuspachteln. Aber das ist nur meine Meinung. Wie immer super Arbeit. Weiter so!

Ich kenn welche, die einen Taunus P6-Kombi als Anhänger hinter ihrem alten Mercedes 206 herziehen. Der Originaltank ist noch drin, und wird als Zusatztank verwendet... :)
