Repairing the 254 International diesel tractor after setting for 10 years

- The 254 International tractor had gasoline added to the diesel fuel tank and the engine died . It was parked. and sat for 10 years. The tractor had 4 flats and filter separator had melted. Clean the rat nest out of the intake and serviced the engine. After priming the fuel system the engine started but popping and high crank case pressure . Ran it for several hours and it smoothed out.
Do we see a supersize garden in the future ? Perfect size for that. Nice find. 👍👍

Looks remarkably similar to my 3-cylinder Mitsubishi tractor. Mine's 4-wheel drive but everything I saw under the hood looked pretty darn similar.

She's a beaut Lloyd...Watching you change out that tyre took me back a ways mate...I haven't done it that way for over 40 years...Back when you really earned you pay...
I picked up an old manual tire changing machine that's at least 50 years old. I need to restore it so I can use it on the next tyre job I have . Cheers ZIG

24 horses of ground pounding power …lol. It does have a 3 range gear box. So if you have the time and traction it could tow almost anything. Thanks Glen

I have a small JD with a loader that is nice . The IHC may tow a trailer for fallen limbs or haul dirt . We will see, Thanks Ken

Good job on saving the rims ..clean the rust primer and paint and I have gotten tubeless tires to seal
Thanks Jim, I was very lucky that the injection pump and engine wasn’t damaged when they put gasoline in it . Oil change , filter, clean fuel and lots of bleeding air from the fuel system and it’s looking good for now.

Woow I got to say that your tractor is looking pretty nice and as for I have the Same tractor mines the same case IH 254 tractor mines a 4wd an I had the starter replaced and the key ignition switch replaced and I'm working 😞 n getting the radiator replaced along with a leaking hydraulic bottom pressure line otherwise these old case IH tractor's are really interesting machines to keep for Small around the house work job's.

I have a ih234, trying to troubleshoot a no start issue. I tested ignition switch and I get no power to the ST terminal when key in start position. Do you have a. source for a new ignition switch?

I have a 254, and it's damn near bulletproof. Surprisingly good in the winter, too - I use it to plow the driveway, and it doesn't start hard until it's into the low single digits outside. Great find.

Nice little tractor I need to find myself another tractor I have one but need another to leave the bush hog on all the time got to buy a new injector fuel pump for my Massey Ferguson it leaks fuel pretty bad can buy a new one for what it cost to have it rebuilt

That is a good looking tractor and you have done a great job getting it running. It does not look too different from our Iseki tractor. You did a great job changing those tyres but I am pleased we now have a tyre changing machine
I have a old tyre machine that I need to restore that is sitting behind the shop that I broke the bead with. It would have been good for this project, Thanks and have a great week my friend .
We're not worried...we're happy! Neat tractor! Those 3-cyl Mitsubishi diesels are super reliable and relatively quiet. They're used in a lot of the small construction machines and excavators. That little tractor will be very useful for you, I'm sure. Hope you're having a good week.
