I am from Brazil, and the respect and kindness that this woman brings to the show, and the way she talks about Angra, she really knows their importance, and she really taked the time to understand the concepts and the message. Angra, its almost an audio book, you really need to listen all the album, some times you need to know the background of the musicians, their lives, and the experiences they were passing by in the time of the composicions. And for me, was very clear that she looked to all this. Thanks for bring our Angra to new listeners! Brazil is more than samba! Maybe some "Shaman"? It was a band created by the former angra vocalist( André Matos), bassist( Luis Mariutti) and drummer(Ricardo Confessori), with the addition of Hugo Mariutti as guitarrist. They were and still are pretty famous here in brazil even after André's death. I would suggest the songs "Time Will Come", "Over Your Head" and DEFINITELY "Fairy Tale". Great to know that Angra digged so deep into you! Their story is really great. I would recommend you to listen to Shaman, an amazing brazilian band that Andre Matos formed after he left Angra with two former members aswell, Ricardo Confessori (drums) and Luis Mariutti (bass).
You are not the first to ask for a Shaman episode, so it is definitely on our radar. Let's say that when the Angra video gets 5000 views, there will be a Shaman episode. Deal? 😉 - Anamaria
Great react video from my favorite band. Long live Angra! My suggestion for a next video is 'Caligula's Horse', a great prog act from Australia. I recommend a song called 'Graves'.
I like the name, Caligula's Horse. Someone in the band must have read their history of Roman emperors, of which Caligula was definitely one of the most excentric to put it mildly. If the music lives up to the name, it will be a top 💯! Anamaria
Only one correction, in the first clip isn't Angra, actually that is a solo project from Edu Falaschi, called "Temple of Shadows". The only other ex-Angra member in that formation its the drummer, Aquiles Priester.
I have suggestion power metal band Lovebites \ Holy War live 2020 @ they had common tour with Dragonforce last fall 2019 all over UK "It is not sounding old fashioned, dusty or boring. It is fresh" - Michael Weikath (HELLOWEEN) "Awesome! It’s super cool to see young girls playing metal music to this level." - Kiko Loureiro (ANGRA)
Fantastic work, but why not pick Carolina IV for Holy Land album? As much as I love Nothing to Say, Carolina is a masterpiece. Maybe my favorite angra song. Anyway, just a normal fan complaining because thats what we do, right? Hahaha. :) Just kidding. Excelent video. Excelent work. Congratulations to you guys.
There are several reasons, besides me liking Nothing to Say, that spoke in its favor. One, it was a song that all three lead singers played, two, it was a song that all of them played live so I could get similar footage for my fan video and three, Carolina IV is so well reviewed, I wanted to highlight a different song from that album. Thank you for your support! - Anamaria
weird Nothing to Say clip... it starts with Edu Falaschi in a live concert, even though the voice is from André Matos (then it changes to André Matos, but it goes back and forth with images from the two vocalists)
I have made this clip with each of the three singers of Angra, Andre, Edu and Fabio; the voice is the same throughout the song, André singing on the Holy Land record. I used available live footage from the internet. so the quality of the videos vary quite a lot. It is a song that Angra still plays live to this day, and it was my way to cover the history of the band in one song. - Anamaria
Very nice analysis, you did your homework. Just a fun fact, the name of the band works in two different ways - in English, it seems an analogy of what Metallica did with the word metallic, and Angra used angry or anger. But Angra is also how some native Brazilian tribes call their goddess of fire. It is pronounced uhngrah (more or less). Even the name of the band is a mix of heavy metal and Brazilian elements. Angra and Sepultura are by far the most known Brazilian heavy metal bands, but I am looking forward to watching a Shaman analysis (just the phase with Andre Matos would be already great). Note - the first European to step into Brazil was the Portuguese Pedro Alvares Cabral in 1500. Columbus was the first one in the Spanish part of the Americas.
Thank you, Fred, I have always wondered about the name of the band. Now finally the pieces come together. Pretty cool idea to take the name of a local goddess! The Shaman episode is on its way really soon, in the coming weeks, so stay tuned! - Anamaria
@@MetalAcademix Well... You probably reacted already to 'Ghost Love Score' with Floor Jansen from Nightwish in Waken Open Air, THE mandatory reaction for recorded reactions on TH-cam. lol. But if you mean other south american bands I don't know much more than Angra, Shaman and Rata Blanca. But I've recently discovered Opeth from Sweden. And have been listening more to progressive metal like Queensryche and Dream Threater. Old but gold. Regards.
We are a bit different than other reaction channels in that we don't really do single songs. We either have battles of bands (we compare two or three versions of the same song in different interpretations) or band reviews (like Angra's). We did talk about Shaman, in case you are into them: th-cam.com/video/0agINtvoxRs/w-d-xo.html And Rata Blanca is a band many habve suggested, so we should definitely look into them. - Anamaria
Thank you for the recommendations, I just looked very briefly at SoulSpell and it looks like a very interesting project, with many known musicians involved and a great concept. It also makes me think again about the strong connections between metal and games. - Anamaria
It is helpful to emphasize that SOULSPELL is a Metal opera in the style of AVANTASIA, employing different singers, so that adds unexpected twists and overall freshness into play. Whoever "digs" this kind of collaborative metal fiesta, is in for a treat! Btw, would it be to early to feature some AYREON? Admittedly it is based more in the classic rock than all-out Metal (metal enough!), but it aims at more - a very creative fusion of all these classic and Prog influences into an own entity, where the connecting story (and recurring themes) only add to the impact. AYREON is an institution, and the most amazing vocalists in all world of Metal have sung for the project. Bruce Dickinson... James LaBrie... Floor Jansen... you name them, there's a good chance they've been on there.
Also, if you liked ANgra, you might like some KAmelot, specially from the 2001 Karma album onwards; And maybe two songs with Roy from the DvD "One Cold Winter's Night" (I'd suggest "abandoned" and another one more fast-paced.; and the recently released official "Sacrimony" live version, with their new vocalist Tommy;
Kamelot is a classic name, good that you remind me of them. I used to listen to them a while back, but stopped paying attention recently. Definitely worth a deep dive, thank you for the recommendation! - Anamaria

Don't know if you have seen it, but the Shaman episode is now up and running on our channel! th-cam.com/video/0agINtvoxRs/w-d-xo.html
@@MetalAcademix Oh, I wasn't aware of that. I´ll watch it. Thanks a lot!
Thank you for watching! And let us know what you thought, of course! - Anamaria
Please girl, educate us! You're amazing.
IMHO Holy Land is their best and most creative album by far. Carolina IV is a masterpiece.
@@MetalAcademix Sounds great! Thanks!
@@tuliodamasceno6207 The promised episode is here! th-cam.com/video/0agINtvoxRs/w-d-xo.html
Great react, maybe shaman next? Kind of addicted to Andre Mattos reacts!
Don't know if you have seen it, but the Shaman episode is now up and running on our channel! th-cam.com/video/0agINtvoxRs/w-d-xo.html
Kkkk o mais foda foi ver a voz do Andre na dublagem do Edu 😅😅👏🏻👏🏻
The guitarist of the creek was kiko loreno who today plays in megadeth
Loureiro* lol
ANGRAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA!
Nobody mentions that Fabio Lione looks like the metal version of Weird Al.
Anamaria
incredible band, I loved the reaction of this woman, excellent!
Many thanks, 🎸⚡💪✨🔥! - Anamaria
Thank you
Only one correction, in the first clip isn't Angra, actually that is a solo project from Edu Falaschi, called "Temple of Shadows". The only other ex-Angra member in that formation its the drummer, Aquiles Priester.
Yes, I know, it is a clip of Edu Falaschi's band, but it was the only live show with Kai Hansen that I could find with the Temple of Hate. - Anamaria
@@MetalAcademix th-cam.com/video/S7ldIqehTwY/w-d-xo.html
Should have outsourced this search then, prior to making the video. I will use this strategy next time. Thanks for the clip! 💪 🤘 Anamaria
I have suggestion power metal band Lovebites \ Holy War live 2020 @ they had common tour with Dragonforce last fall 2019 all over UK
"It is not sounding old fashioned, dusty or boring. It is fresh" - Michael Weikath (HELLOWEEN)
"Awesome! It’s super cool to see young girls playing metal music to this level." - Kiko Loureiro (ANGRA)
Wow, amazing how she knows Angra so well. Waiting for Shaman!
Marcelo, stick around because the wait is almost over. Shaman is bound to make an appearance at some point in the coming two weeks! - Anamaria
It's here, it's now- check it out and let us know what you think! th-cam.com/video/0agINtvoxRs/w-d-xo.html
Good reaction! Please check Angra's new song "Ride into the storm", it's the 1st single for their upcoming album. It's great!
My favorite album is "Holy Land".
Fantastic work, but why not pick Carolina IV for Holy Land album? As much as I love Nothing to Say, Carolina is a masterpiece. Maybe my favorite angra song.
Anyway, just a normal fan complaining because thats what we do, right? Hahaha. :)
Just kidding.
- Anamaria
I guess Holy Land is related to one of Brazil's first names "Terra de Santa Cruz" which translates to "Land of the Holy Cross"
Im a big fan of Angra! Thanks for this video, my subscrib is yours!
Thank you, really appreciate your support! - Anamaria
Amazing! By the way, we speak Portuguese in Brazil.
Of course - Pan's Labyrinth is in Spanish! -Michael
weird Nothing to Say clip... it starts with Edu Falaschi in a live concert, even though the voice is from André Matos (then it changes to André Matos, but it goes back and forth with images from the two vocalists)
- Anamaria
I already liked this video only for the respect and awe she shows explaining the band! 🤩
Thank you so much 🙏 - Anamaria
Greetings from BR
Great video!
Very good! Quality sound
Nice! One of the best world's band ever ❤️
Did you hear the song Veloz by the band Saphira? I highly recommend it to you; they're from Argentina.
- Anamaria
ADIASTASIA:
Another underrated band from Brazil is Adiastasia. Please, react to their song Father of Light.
Project46 is a realy great metalband from Brazil, if you could check it out im sure you would enjoy it.
Loved the vid btw
Brazil surely is a propitious ground for metal, so many good bands! - Anamaria
Carry on es uno de mejores temas de Angra!
Buen vídeo!
Aquiles - kiko - Bruno
Very informative video. Epic band. TY.
Glad to hear that you enjoyed the episode, and feel free to suggest other bands!
We did talk about Shaman, in case you are into them: th-cam.com/video/0agINtvoxRs/w-d-xo.html
And Rata Blanca is a band many habve suggested, so we should definitely look into them. - Anamaria
For some less known Brazilian bands:
Noturnall (Angras drummer was there)
Vandroya
SoulSpell
Tuatha de Danann
The scene thrash on Br
Have a infinity good bands (Sorry bad english)
Parabens pelo video react por favor continue fazendo mais videos de Angra
Not quite Angra, but we have a new reaction to Shaman - perhaps you'd also enjoy it. th-cam.com/video/0agINtvoxRs/w-d-xo.html
Parabéns, ótimo vídeo...........Brasil.......................
You could do an episode on Saxon and Running Wild. Two bands that are big but somewhat very underated on TH-cam.
I know Saxon rather well; Running Wild less so. Both are very much up our alley, so to speak. Added to the suggestion list! - Anamaria
Angra: Time, Nova Era, New Born Me. diferent times, diferent singers, diferent sounds ....
Awesome. I suggest Aqua album, which is also a concept one. The track Awake From Darkness is pretty good.
Great video of my favorite band. Please react to Shaman too. #ripAndreMatos
Gustavo, Shaman is here! Check it out and let us know what you think - th-cam.com/video/0agINtvoxRs/w-d-xo.html!
React to Shaman - Fairy Tale
Also, if you liked ANgra, you might like some KAmelot, specially from the 2001 Karma album onwards; And maybe two songs with Roy from the DvD "One Cold Winter's Night" (I'd suggest "abandoned" and another one more fast-paced.; and the recently released official "Sacrimony" live version, with their new vocalist Tommy;
Kamelot is a classic name, good that you remind me of them. I used to listen to them a while back, but stopped paying attention recently. Definitely worth a deep dive, thank you for the recommendation! - Anamaria
Just to point, you sayed Omni right the first time. Its latim for everything.
Greetings from brazil! What an amazing video. You should react and review a band called Opeth. They had 3 differents phases like Angra haha. First a death metal phase, later a progressive metal one, and now just progressive rock. It's a nice band, hope you enjoy :)
Thank you! Opeth is a Swedish band, so I knew about it, but didn't follow their evolution (mostly knew their earlier styles). Maybe their current set-up is more attractive to my ears - will give them another try. - Anamaria
I just have no words to explain. Anamaria, you deserves a Brazzilian Citizenship after this video hahahahaha
you guys has won a new subscriber after this amazing video
