Cradle of Filth take me back to 1994 and the 1st album of theirs. I was 19 and having the teenage time of my life. Those memories of the early fun teenage / almost adult years were the best. The first cradle album was a unique sound, it had so many awesome moments.

Dani^ and that sounds untrue considering he doesn't chat with fans online, never has. Not even in the old days of message boards, especially bc of the obsessed female fan base. Check it out for yourself in the Order of the Dragon message board....it's still there and members only. The other band members would chat with us there but he vehemently doesn't talk to fans in dms or messages because it can cause problems.

They are a full evolution of Opera into the extreme metal genre. Their music always tells a story, usually something dark or macabre. Dani is one of the nicest dudes in Metal. @ ok maybe 33-34 years ago, time flies. They were a 4 piece band, the album is listed on Discogs and I presume super rare - my copy is staying right here! It cost about £2 if I remember. Alex the drummer works in the city, Matt the bassist is a session Musician, Doug the guitarist a surgeon. The band were meant to play a local gig but broke up before hand, although turned up with some bass bins to loan another band. The other 2 bands still played that night. I was in a band called Black Moon with Ben, the original keyboard player from Cradle of Filth. Doug had a great guitar sound and played a Black BC Rich Warlock through a JCM 800 half stack. “Catch” is a really good song from the album. I remember Ben’s brother Paul played a black BC Rich, and was also in the early Cradle of Filth line up.

CoF are amazing and never disappoint!! I’ve been a fan since I stumbled upon the first album the day it was released in 1994. If you want to see another side to them, check out their covers. Cliff Richard’s Devil Woman is a belter but the cream of the crop is their cover of Shakespeare’s Sister’s Stay. It’s magnificent!!!

Realy special band, never really got into the black metal scene except for a little period of time in my teenage years, around 2005,all the lore about mayhem and the stuff, but cradle of filth have an special place in my heart for their special sound, perfectly mixing extreme sounds with goth aesthetics and sexuality. If you didn't, I suggest to take a look at the movie they made back in 2000, cradle of fear, it's at the same time incredible and ridiculous, with all the matrix and gore influence from the early 2000 underground era using the most unrealistic effects. Nostalgic stuff indeed. I hope they do well for a lot of time.

Dani filths vocals have definitely changed a bit through the years. Go back and listen to "Dusk and her embrace" not sure if he can still pull off some of the crazy vocals he did back then.

I think you should react to Bauhaus - Bela Lugosi's Dead (Live Coachella 2005). The singer, Peter Murphy hang upside down like a bat for the whole 10 minutes! 🦇🦇🦇🦇🦇

CoF are still rather excellent live, and their current single has an evolved, Midian vibe to it. Musically, they are a unique British blend of black, gothic and symphonic metal.

How I chuckled when I noticed the inclusion of the COFilth London Marquee footage from '92 as I filmed that! They played low on the bill as were unsigned supporting Anathema and Cannibal Corpse. I spoke at length to Danni before the show as he gave me their demo tape and mentioned they were looking to go into the studio with a producer who's previous credits involved Echo and the Bunnymen if memory serves correct. He was a nice guy and I never really thought they'd amount to much ha ha ha!
