HOW TO HIDE WIRE SHELVES | RENTER FRIENDLY

  • Welcome back! In this video I'm going to show you how I covered up these ugly wire shelves in my pantry for less than $20! They look SO much better I'm super happy with the way they turned out. These shelves were super easy to make and the best part about it, no tools required! They are rental friendly and you can customize them any way you'd like. There are a ton of different types of contact paper out there on amazon. The one I used from Walmart is only $6 a roll! I can't find it online but I will leave a link below for similar options from amazon. If you decide to do this project on your own please leave me a comment with a picture on how they turned out I'd love to see them! Don't forget to subscribe and leave this video a thumbs up if you enjoyed watching!

    For the edge flap, just score the poster board, not cutting completely thru it, then tape along the inside back edge😉

      I actually did try this! But after adding the contact paper it didn’t lay completely flat against the existing wire shelf. It stuck out some so I found cutting it worked better. But maybe it was the way I added the contact paper

      You’re correct that the flap would not lay flat. If you’re “handy” with the blade cutter u could score only one side & then cut the foam on that side the measurement of the board thickness & peel the narrow foam off. I can’t wait to try this in my pantry. I love this idea. I have really long wire shelves & they’re not practical for smal items, the different attachments for them are very expensive.

    Thank you so much for making this video! My husband and I just purchased our first home and our pantry looks just like this!!! I’ve been seeing so many huge, walk-in, insane pantries and this is so relatable and not overwhelming! I’m coming from no pantry at all and needed something that felt comfortable!!! THANK YOU!!! 😊

    Brilliant idea for renters! I wanted to add that I have this type of wire shelving in my linen closet and I removed the lower brace (it wasn’t needed for the weight of just towels.)

    Loved this idea! I’ve hated my pantries wire shelves for so long and can’t believe I didn’t think of doing this myself! Your brilliant. Thanks

    Thank you! I will definitely be doing this for the wire shelving in my frig. My experience with contact paper a credit card or I'd works good for smoothing out those pesky air bubbles.

      Just foam board found in the aisle where large post boards are. Usually with office supplies

      Just bought the big foam board at Hobby Lobby. They have it for $9 then you use your 40% off coupon

      Dollar Tree has Large foam boards for $1 & sometimes even the prefolded “project display” type heavy duty cardboard which is about 6 feet when opened out.

    I actually need wire shelfs like you have installed. Where do they sell them cheap?

    • @astridediva
      @astridediva ปีที่แล้ว

      Go to Home Depot . They’re about $10-15 per shelves. Don’t buy them separately if you need a lot . Buy a complete pack that comes with extra shelves and all the equipment needed to put it up.

    My apartment has no shelves and they said they cannot add any. Weird... Where would I put my groceries in the pantry!? It's literally an extremely tall mouse room very empty... Nothing in there just a waste of space and I have to put my food in the fridge and or microwave as storage oh and oven.... What can I do!?
