Thanks for the post! We’re doing Canal du MIDI next month on the Royal Mistique B. You’re video captures the boat quite nicely. Much appreciated!

I like that you open the drawers on the cabinets. That oven looked like it was never used. I wouldn't be timid about talking over video instead of that irritating elevator music. With audio descriptions you could have said whether this was one of their newer boats and how big it was, whether the beds were comfortable, was the shower with hot water, how easy it was to cook for four people, whether the engine had a quick reverse, were the night-time moorings quiet, were the sheets clean, etc...

Agreed (and thank you). Actually, since I made that video, I have started doing voice-overs, so good point. Please subscribe!

I have done 5 month-long trips on the French canals. In my experience, the Burgundy area is much more appealing for canalling than the Midi. More scenic and cooler.

Agreed! So, Burgundy canals are top of the list for you?

      @@TheNoNonsenseTravelGuide Yep.

@@apollo11guy Good to know. Have you done any in Bordeaux? We liked that better than Burgundy. More canal travel, less river.

@@TheNoNonsenseTravelGuide What canals are in Bordeaux?

@@apollo11guy My mistake: near Bordeaux. We flew to Bordeaux and got the boat at Le Mas-d'Agenais, Nouvelle-Aquitaine.

Maybe don’t visit France in the warmest months as well ? There are less crowds and sometimes things are cheaper.

Yes! But, as you know, the warmest months are not increasing by number! We never go to France in summer: always spring or autumn. You?
