I've just turned 80. Even though I have had a full and adventurous life, you two beautiful people make me envious. Enjoy the beautiful world God gave you and cherish each other forever. Good luck.
I too will shortly turn 80. I do envy you and endorse every wish of of Mr Dick Bernhardt. Life even in these times is wonderful ; just look at the glow in these young faces! Bless you
La beauté est dans l'oeil qui la regarde... Et heureusement, vous avez le coeur qu'il faut pour nous la transmettre. Merci pour ces instants magiques. Beauty is in the eye that looks at her. And luckily, you have the heart to pass it on to us. Thanks for these magic moments.
As a Frenchman whose lived abroad since he was 4 and speaks the language fluently because of my parents. I envied you both. I wanted to go inside those homes high and low large or small, You make the canal life looked wonderful. Your poetic voice is such pleasure. Thank you
Oh to return to France. One day we hope but for now joining you on your northern adventure is magical. Thank you both. Love the natural way to joke together. 💕
We love your adventures. You two remind my sweet wife and I of how we were on our young adventures, Ha! Nearly 40 years ago! For us, while the scenery has changed, and the hardships and the blessings have been seasoned with both laughter and tears, our love and commitment has never ended. May your voyage together be as blessed.
Jack & Jadel For 12 years we cruised the canals of France, Belgium and Holland on our 29 meter barge named Deja Vu. We moored several times in Dole and like you found it a beautiful city. Thank you very much for creating a great video and bringing back some wonderful memories. We will follow you as you head north and wish for you all the beauty that we experienced.
I am certainly of the opinion you have risen to be called TH-cam stars! An OSCAR is overdue! The quality of your video work is simply astonishing, considering you live and work on your beautiful but small boat capturing, documenting and editing more captivating movies then the vast majority of block busters have been capable of! Congratulations and a thousand thanks for making those beautiful videos I and many others long for every week!
My wife and I had to cancel our trip to France this spring due to covid-19. Experiencing this region of France vicariously through the eyes of the crew of Magic Carpet is the next best thing. Maya's exquisite narration along with the cinematography makes us feel like we are there with you. Well done.
I’ve had the pleasure of spending time on the French canals now for four years out of the last six. While little can do it justice, your video does much toward capturing the incredible magic and beauty of these journeys. It is something everyone should experience! Thank you!
This was a very charming cruise. In the last couple of weeks, I have been watching videos of narrowboat cruses in the UK. This is the first time I have been to France. It is so nice to be able to see another country through your delightful videos. Thank You from Ron in Chicago.
Maya, what a wonderful video. Being 4000 km far away from France your videos allow me to immerse in atmosphere of french channels or beautiful medieval town. Such videos are much more appreciated now, as long as borders are closed and I can afford travel only by watching such videos. Keep this up and good luck to you and Aladino!
I have been instructed by my partner, who I subject to far too many sailing videos, to leave a comment saying she loved this episode. (For the record, I liked it, too.) It's giving us a lot of inspiration for our upcoming sailing adventure.
YES! Splendid story telling! Maya really makes the experience come alive - I feel as though I am listening to a classic adventure/fantasy novel being read to me by a favourite relative! Brava!
Our European vacation went by the wayside this spring, however I have following the pair of you through the canals and rivers of France. You are living your dreams. Enjoy every minute. Fair sailing.
We visited the old Left Bank of Paris one lovely April. Your beautiful pictures & descriptions remind me of those feelings & sensations. The surprising and wonderful meals in cozy restaurants on hidden side streets, the sunset strolls along the Seine - you remind me how much I want to go back. Thank you, thank you!
Dear Maya, it is always a pleasure to watch your weekly videos. Your (relaxing) voice is a very contributing factor in this. You seem to be able to make the report of an "ordinary" trip into a video that is very inspiring and a joy to watch. You are taking your audience on a great tour were we join you and Dini on (the) Magic Carpet enjoying the good life. Even on rainy and cold trips on the boat you let the sun shine through your smile. Thanks for that! Keep up the good work!
Love, love love, what a delightful film, the town was like something out of Harry Potter. Your smiling faces bring such joy, thank you so much for taking us on your adventure and showing us such lovely places to visit. The food looked amazing and the wine was obviously lovely no matter what nuts it tasted like. I know what work you put into these lovely professional films and for anyone who cannot travel it must be such a joy to share your travels. Well done you adorable pair, just keep that adventure going.
Hello my name is Donald and I am a fellow Canadian. I live in Courtice Ontario. I am almost retired and I have wanted to sail. I love your program. I watch it every week. Keep up the good work. I am a musician like you and I really enjoy your music content of your program . I hope to get a small pocket ship to go sailing in the near future. Proud of you. Keep up the good work. Donald Legate
You guys are the best youtube sailors by far. Watching your videos helps me tolerate not being on a boat, the natural place where i should be. Cheers from Geneva
A far better advert for French tourism than the many professionals, I love the editing and soothing narration. Keep on enjoying the journey and I hope the rain holds off for a while. These videos really make want to sell up and buy a boat, then go exploring...but unfortunately it is not possible, so I will just sit back, watch you two explore and share your experiences ...and dream on Stay safe, have fun and enjoy x
Magnifique! this is our first time watching you. It is now a DATE on Fridays to savor and enjoy. We have been to France several times and look forward to visiting again because of your detail and beautiful filming. By the way, we are retired (almost 70 year olds) educators who live near Los Angeles, Ca. Thank you....we are inspired again!!
Out of all the other sailing pages, I like very much the professional way you illustrate every single episode, the music as well as the filming. Thanks for all your efforts and keep the high quality and the spirit.
I, too, have been truly enjoying your videos. What a fantastic adventure you two are experiencing. My wife and I rode our bicycles around the perimeter of France for 4 months and carried everything on our bikes. We never got to see these canals and the interior but through you we are able to, vicariously, of course. Please stay safe and healthy!!!!
A big thank you to you for highlighting my country, you know how to transcribe this sweetness of life, a walk in a French village, a good little restaurant, a little getaway in the old streets in the evening after having dinner, what more romantic, I love this France, Thank you
Great adventure, I'm envious. I've had a book on exploring the French canals, but gave it to another who actually bought a boat and went! Lovely narration, poetic, transfixing tone, excellent videography and great music, thanks.
Your positivity and personality are refreshing especially considering the difficult times we are living in. Good work Maya. Keep smiling and inspiring us to be happy.
MAYA, I COULD CLOSE MY EYES & IMAGINE THAT BY YOUR NARRATION I CAN ENVISION EXACTLY WHAT YOU C. YOU HAVE SUCH A BEAUTIFUL WAY WITH WORDS. LUV U BOTH, I ENJOY YOUR VID'S. PLZ. MAY GOD KEEP U BOTH SAFE.
Beautiful!i went through the middle of france 6years in a row with an old mate(both in our 60s).if we had made a video it would have shown us cooking pasta everynight over a camping stove and drinking copious amounts of red wine reminiscing about old times.this video has reminded me of the great times and beautiful villages.wonderful!
A Beautiful Young Lady Who Narrated & Presented This With Sheer Class..Not Forgetting Her Partner Who Certainly Played His Part..Well Done To You Both..I Look Forward To Having The Pleasure Of Viewing Your Future Videos..
Maya and Aladino, the variety and the quality of your content keeps me hooked. Even though most of us envy your youth, health, talents and lifestyle, I don't feel like you're flaunting it in my face. What you say is moving, sincere and worth listening to. Every time.
Really beautiful scenery all throughout. Love the old buildings along the canal; not only in this episode but all those along your route. I would have never ever have seen it otherwise. I have watched most of your videos and I have literally been speechless, not knowing what to write in the comment section. I also very much like the way you talk in these, much thought of or a lovely talent. Thank you.
Another great episode it seems like your videos keep getting better, narrating, the background music scenery the old Frenchtown next to the Canal You’re right it did seem magical and fairytale like
Sailing Magic Carpet I was thinking since it is morning here that you should be busy sailing/boating, I forget that you’re probably seven hours ahead of us and it is evening there and you’re probably docked
Maya you both make a wonderful pair, God bless you. Your narration is excellent. Video editing is flawless, episode after episode the refinement in quality of the programme is clearly visible. Looking forward to many more beautiful episodes. Cheers.
Another Excellent video you guys beautiful place beautiful town but without people I feel kind of depressed keep the good videos coming and keep yourself safe
We went for a holiday... Loved it so much... We cruised around Europe for 30 years. Back home now but miss it so much . Great to watch you discovering it all. Enjoy .
So lovely! I am bicycle traveler from South Korea. Looking Around European countries, several times. Vladivostok to St Petersburg and Copenhagen, Till Morocco 2016-19 Until we are prevented from Covid-19. Now I leave for Bourgogne bicycle route next month.
With your storytelling it made the scene even more beautiful. I would love to live there for about a month or two just to really take in the City. Wishing you safe travels. Thank you for the video. ⛵
Thanks Maya and Magic Carpet. I have done a bit of sailing over the years but there is something very special to cross Europe via its historic channels and rivers. I hope I can experience myself one day too. All the best to you guys 👦 from a Brazilian leaving in London.
Dear Sailing Magic Carpet couple. 👍👌👏 Uuuuh, what an incredibly wonderful picturesque old village. Congrats for having the ability to enjoy it this time. You two definitely earned/deserved it. Amongst others by making all these simply fantastic videos. Thanks a lot for making teaching recording editing uploading and sharing. Best regards, luck and health. Postscriptum: What??? Every 5 min a lock? 😱 Good grief, you are definitely much more patient than me. 💚😁
Maya; your beautifully metered speech cadence is mesmerizing, and your ability to paint the picture with words is just amazing. You’re a beautiful woman, too. Aladino; as they say here in the US using football terminology, you far out punted your coverage. LOL. You two are amazing together. What a life’s experience you are building together!
Wow! what a splendiferous expedition! France is SO lovely and gorgeous! You have me planning another visit! But first to learn some more French to make things more enjoyable whilst I am there.
What a beautiful couple you are. The story telling is absolutely magical. Thoroughly enjoy your footage and extremely interesting content. Bless you both and much love from Switzerland.
Quite impressive, tranquil, just the two of you floating along. In addition to enjoying your beautiful cinematography my wife and I enjoy the repartee among you two. It's great to see a young couple work, live and care for eachother in a warm and respectful way. You show a much different picture from many TH-camrs. Best wishes for your continued success and thank you for your enchanting videos!
Maya, your expressions of excitement and ‘joie de vivre’ are great to see. It’s so pleasing to see young people appreciating the world around them, a world that has remarkably managed to retain it’s quiet beauty and character amidst the brutal face of conflict and hostilities over the centuries. The walls of the old town may now appear tranquil and inviting, but years ago the town found itself on the wrong side of Louis XIV and it’s inhabitants paid the price.
Being Dutch and living on the North-West side of the River 'the schelde' that's about 35 km North from the border with Belgium close to the North sea. I travel through France a lot, but you guys just showed me in your video a part of France where I've never been before...It's about time I go there myself. I love watching your river/channel travel videos o_~ Wish you guys a lot of fun on your way up North
WOW!!!!! Almost like being there with you, what absolutely beautiful scenery, as you say like a story book, so beautifully narrated, (Maya you do have such a soft voice). On another note, the cockpit looks great especially when wet, great job on refinishing. Fair winds and safe travels.
OMG! What beautiful memories you awaked! Dole is absolutely the most picturesque city i've ever visited (a year ago)! I took several hundreds pictures in only one night at Dole! But there is one city, which comes very close to Dole: the medieval city of carcassonne! But it is far away (geographically) from Dole, at the canal du midi.
I've just turned 80. Even though I have had a full and adventurous life, you two beautiful people make me envious. Enjoy the beautiful world God gave you and cherish each other forever. Good luck.
Here here.. Not envious but driven to do the same at 53 +++ :)
What a lovely comment Dick!
I too will shortly turn 80. I do envy you and endorse every wish of of Mr Dick Bernhardt. Life even in these times is wonderful ; just look at the glow in these young faces! Bless you
And the same from an 82 yearold, wonderful, magical, romantic episode again.

Realy such a wonderful fairytale ....
Maya, ich liebe es, wie sehr du dich freuen kannst. Aladino, du bist echt ein Guter, Daumen hoch ! Der Soundtrack ist so toll, wie im Märchen.
I love that you love the beauty of France.
Oh to return to France. One day we hope but for now joining you on your northern adventure is magical. Thank you both. Love the natural way to joke together. 💕
Such a gorgeous town. I love rural France.
You are thieves!!! You've stolen my heart ! Merci..
We love your adventures. You two remind my sweet wife and I of how we were on our young adventures, Ha! Nearly 40 years ago! For us, while the scenery has changed, and the hardships and the blessings have been seasoned with both laughter and tears, our love and commitment has never ended. I just watched this with my three year old daughter and she said, "I want to go there." :)

What a fairy tale story you express in your videos. Thank you so much for the pleasure to follow you through this very beautiful part of France.

Your visual storytelling is tops but your scoring is fantastic.
Che meraviglia!. Bellissimo video, equilibrato, colto - non consumistico - con ambienti belli...e persino con una bella e simpatica coppia. Bravi!
I love beeing on a ship when it's raining
Brilliant video by the way 👍
I have been instructed by my partner, who I subject to far too many sailing videos, to leave a comment saying she loved this episode. (For the record, I liked it, too.) It's giving us a lot of inspiration for our upcoming sailing adventure.
Nice video! As a francophile and francophone, you have made me want to live in Dole! Lovely to see you happy!
the vlog is a great credit to you guys....I watch with a melange of mild envy and awe at your joy...vive la france
I thoroughly enjoy the texture of your episodes: scenery, music, and story-telling. Excellent!
Exactly!
YES! Splendid story telling! Maya really makes the experience come alive - I feel as though I am listening to a classic adventure/fantasy novel being read to me by a favourite relative! Brava!

Great Little town..and not one TV satellite dish to be seen.
This was one of your best videos. We all like Dino's how to/tech videos, but having Maya whisk us away to magical places is the best. Great job Maya.

Fun to hear a younger person's perspective on 'I was younger, it was two years ago' (62 Year old man) Love your videos! glad you are moving again.
Yes! Patrick.. that made me giggle as well (69-year-old man)! They are so endearing. I hope life treats them well!
Indeed, I can remember when two years seemed like an eternity... (60 year old man). Happy wanderings guys!
Is there a fee to accessing these locks? Thank you
Absolutely beautiful. A feast for the soul. Thankyou so much for sharing these special memories with us.
the combination of music with video/scenery was fantastic. your enthusiasm was contageous....simply beautiful poetry.

Hello...dear aladino and maya.... beautiful narration...music is blended with your narration...take care...😍
WOW!!!!! Almost like being there with you, what absolutely beautiful scenery, as you say like a story book, so beautifully narrated, (Maya you do have such a soft voice). On another note, the cockpit looks great especially when wet, great job on refinishing. Fair winds and safe travels.
