This is incredible. When her voice comes in for the chorus it's complete heaven. Heaven in musical form. In fact, maybe that's all heaven is, these two singing 'Into The Mystic'.
this video was up for a while but got taken down. I'm glad it's up again. This is my favorite version of it but Van is still the Man.
Love that style of singing songs ... he`s absolutly brilliant... the only one who can sing Van M. songs without destroying! Absolutly brilliant! Sounds like the old Van becomes a young man again !!! Great!!! Don`t stop this !

This song and Bob Marley's Natural Mystic do a number on me. I'm by no means a spiritual being. But these 2 songs pull me in deep into soulfulness. A sense of separation from the material world of things and of the familiar.
I can't explain it using words. Let's call it a different state of being.
i remember a time when i was obsessed with this cover, just recently i rented a van morrison cd from the library, my first time ever listening to his music. The whole time i was listening i just kept thinking, man glen hansard sort of sings with same soul (van morrison was irish). and so i decided to look this song up and didnt even know back in the day when i was obsessed that this was a van morrison song. This really is a great song though, i love glen hansard and marketa irglova.

I too love Van Morrison, but this version just totally rocks my gypsy soul :) I love the way music can touch each one of us in such different ways.

This was my favorite song on the ONCE soundtrack album. Then found out it was a Van Morrison song. there is proof in the pudding that Mr Morrison makes great music - as i loved the song without knowing it was a cover. Great Cover Glen!

limited they may be in back up (bass etc ) but oh they make up for it with the vocls...this is great in my estimation

Awesome version, but the bass is essential, imo. Still a great version. As are the live ones :)
I like this version a lot but I wish on the duos they would turned down glen so you could hear marketa better.
