I heard this song not long after I said goodbye to my dog as he walkes across the rainbow bridge. I never had a dog in my entire life. My gf at the time had him and as we started a life together he most definitely became mine. We had numerous other dogs over the years and the last one we had was Winnie. A beautiful 14 year old we rescued from a kill shelter. The sweetest creature but hella crazy 😄 The days I put down Max and Winnie were amongst the darkest I've ever experienced in my life. A deep resounding physical pain that never seemed to have resolved. I still have Winnies collar hanging from the rear view mirror and look at it rubbing her name tag from time to time and find myself being so overwhelmed with emotions of grief, happiness, nostalgia and deep seated memories that I just start to cry. Im happy she was in our lives but so verh difficult to let them go. This is one of the songs that really get me along with "Angels Above Me" by Stick Figure and "Upside Down" by Jack Johnson. The animals we bring into our life are merely little children of love just wanting to discover and spread the bursting joy they have inside of them. We must hold them close and ever full of love as they are not with us for a long time. ❤️
I love the version of this song posted by krissderks. It is a powerfully moving performance. But listening to this studio version, I can more clearly hear Marketa's lovely voice soaring beautifully over the top of Glenn's giving this song even more power to move me, and I have to pause a moment after hearing it to let my feelings pour through me. This is a lovely work of art.
This song is played at the end of American pie the wedding . Its one of my favorite songs of all time . I spend hours compiling songs that mean something to me and say something about me . I will down load them onto disc and keep them to give to my kids when im gone . Im not being morbid or anything i just think it will be nice
Not morbis! I am not having a funeral. I have made arrangements to have a Rock N Roll Celebration of My Life! Even and especially since I have outlived all my siblings and my children. And I am not that old. It's just that life happens when you are busy working.
I just watched that movie (American Pie) on tv and I knew I've heard this song before and it was _this_ version! I watched Once when it came out and I loved the soundtrack.
in which scene of the film they played this song? is it the song when tom asks violet to merry him and he says "this is our song, when we first met!" ?
Was this song in the movie? I haven't seen it since 2008, so I don't remember. I bought the deluxe edition of the soundtrack & remember being surprised at the 2 Van Morrison covers. I don't remember any non-original songs bring in the movie.
CKB4689 yes, it was when the Emily Blunt's character decide to break up with the guy when he was in the hospital if I'm not mistaken. I searched entire youtube just to found it was a live version but with low quality :(
This needs to be on Spotify!
I want this song sung at my funeral. One of the most perfect songs ever conceived.
Well, we all must pass, but my wishes that you don't sail into the mystic anytime soon.

A beautiful bridge between two great Irish singers.

Amazing. Pure, raw, heart felt music that empowers the souls of those fortunate enough to be able to hear it.

The whole is greater than the sum of its parts. Come home, you two.
Forget where this song was played, but the song you're thinking of is "Sweet Thing" by Van Morrison
Cant fond this on Spotify :(
Damn love that guitar strum so much I'mma learn this soon watch me strummmmmmmm
Your thinking of the original version by Van Morrison. Thats the one on American Wedding
Miluju tebe
Actually they also use the version by The Wallflowers.
The mystic WHAT???? >,
Chris Hanline everyone's mystic is different hon
Better than Collin James version for sure!
is that Howth head in the background
It's much better als Van Morrison's original. That's the really miracle.
But for me The Swell Season itself is a miracle already.
