I can't count how many times we made love with those songs playing in the background. She passed away 3 months ago at age 70, after 47 years of marriage and nearly 50 years together. When I listen to Van Morrison now, I cry tears of grief, and happy tears of memory and gratitude for the years we had.

My dad took me to see Van the Man live at the Cow Palace in San Francisco in 1972 , it was my first concert, I was 15 years old! I am still hooked on his music.
Your dad was a good man. 6 years ago I took my then 12 year old daughter to see Kathy Perry as she wanted to see her. She put on an ok show. 3 weeks later I dragged her to see Van Morrison, he was really good that night, the band was feeling it, it was one of the best Van Morrison shows I’ve been to. On Monday after the show I came home from work and she had pulled out all my old records, and was so into the mystic. It’s one of my proudest moments as a father.
Ok, this is probably going to come off as pretentious BS, but I truly mean this. You don’t listen to Van Morrison’s music...You feel it. You let your mind swim in the lyrics and notes and the sentiment conveyed in his many departures from the expected
I’m 46 years old and I became transfixed with Morrison’s music way back in about 2006, as a 26-27 year old. People would give me the weirdest looks when they would hear what I was blasting. They said I was weird or that music is for old people but I was like “the dude has written some of the best songs, lyrically, than any other singer/songwriter besides maybe James Taylor…” I’ve never went with what was popular, or what people thought I should listen to. I’ve always listened to what dug down deep in my gut and made me want to cry, laugh, take a shot of whiskey or just reflect. I’m convinced music could bring peace to the world, and so much more if only we would let it.
Man, another very moving fantastic performance by Van the man. Just incredible. The way he sings is like a river. Just flowing on and on like the song is not gonna end. Just the way you want it to be… on and on, but then eventually it does end. Very beautifully. Thank you. ✨

Saw Van in concert 2 days ago at Newcastle and he was fabulous as ever. The young lady who was the backing singer was also a talent in herself - a fantastic voice. At 76 years of age, Van the man is still doing it :-)

There is no one like Van, just so amazed and happy that he is still honoring us with his soulful vocals and guitar playing. I'm 72 and he's been my musical, lyrical inspiration since 1965. Saw him Live 3 times in the 70's in Dallas and was never disappointed.

My personal opinion of D Crosby is I luv him and his eccentricities. His later stuff eg She's got to be somewhere' Sky trails or most tracks on 'Croz'. all that stuff v cool. I've heard it said more than once that Van's best performances are the ones where he drops into a club unannounced, borrows an acoustic guitar, and comes out and does an impromptu solo set. Just like this. I've been a fan for more than 50 years.
More than 50 years for me too. Saw him with "Them" several times at The Cellar in Arlington Heights in the 60s. He never stopped getting better all these years. Into the Mystic may very well be my favorite of all.

Had I not seen this video, I would never have guessed he was the age he is here - his voice is 👍 , like some others I grew up listening to over 55 yrs ago! THIS is one of my all time favorite songs - the lyrics are meaningful to me for personal reasons, but 💟 it in every way. Van’s and Jackson Brown’s versions are the ONLY two I listen to - and both theirs at least once a day!
How awesome it is to hear him sing this classic song. I still remember hearing him for the first time in 1968 when my mom brought home "Astral Weeks." It became one of our favorite albums in those hippie days and the songs and his voice are timeless.
I’m so grateful for all the times I’ve seen Van in concert over the years. Six times !! The first time I was 16 and he played in a theater in Sacramento. That was about 45 years ago !! It’s been 15 years since I’ve seen him in concert. It’s remarkable how great his voice still sounds !! ❤️

Saw Van in concert 2 days ago at Newcastle and he was fabulous as ever. The young lady who was the backing singer was also a talent in herself - a fantastic voice. At 76 years of age, Van the man is still doing it :-)

I saw him for the very first time about 9 years ago then another time somewhere in between and then this latest time and he was every bit as good, if not better than the first time. He comes out, does his thing then goes away - no messing about and no small talk in between.

Nobody ever says anything about Van's guitar playing, I believe that it is flipping great, he has a sound that is all of his own
I would have been OK without that off guitar middle by some dude. His later bit is better, but, naah. If you don't have a sax, just pass on that junk.

There is no one like Van, just so amazed and happy that he is still honoring us with his soulful vocals and guitar playing. I'm 72 and he's been my musical, lyrical inspiration since 1965. Saw him Live 3 times in the 70's in Dallas and was never disappointed.
Van Morrison you have giving me lasting memories of so many feelings that have come out from your songs inspired me to push through those hard times and be inspired by your life overall with your trials and tribulations and lyrics to all your music. MDunn - Yes I probably got that impression from YT responses. They're really harsh unless the artist is a bill clinton on sax or something. My personal opinion of D Crosby is I luv him and his eccentricities. His later stuff eg She's got to be somewhere' Sky trails or most tracks on 'Croz'. all that stuff v cool. Not a great Nash fan, but a fine harmonist.

More than 50 years for me too. Saw him with "Them" several times at The Cellar in Arlington Heights in the 60s. He never stopped getting better all these years. Into the Mystic may very well be my favorite of all.

Being an Irishman I have always loved Vans music. He is as good here as ever !!! Impedance is, without a doubt, one of the GREATEST LP. As a young Marine in Nam this song and LP brought me through some tough times, a real pick me up !!!

Had I not seen this video, I would never have guessed he was the age he is here - his voice is 👍 , like some others I grew up listening to over 55 yrs ago! THIS is one of my all time favorite songs - the lyrics are meaningful to me for personal reasons, but 💟 it in every way. Van’s and Jackson Brown’s versions are the ONLY two I listen to - and both theirs at least once a day!

How awesome it is to hear him sing this classic song. I still remember hearing him for the first time in 1968 when my mom brought home "Astral Weeks." It became one of our favorite albums in those hippie days and the songs and his voice are timeless.

I’m so grateful for all the times I’ve seen Van in concert over the years. Six times !! The first time I was 16 and he played in a theater in Sacramento. That was about 45 years ago !!
It’s been 15 years since I’ve seen him in concert. It’s remarkable how great his voice still sounds !! ❤️
