Thank you so much for this video! The instruction is extremely clear, and seeing the stitches side-by-side is helpful for deciding which stitch to use. It's a real help!
Thank you for this! I'm trying to stitch cursive for a Christmas gift. I'm a newbie to seeing these done helps me visualize what would for best for me!
I usually just do my embroidery onto my cotton with nothing behind it. I only do a word or two, maybe a heart. But I’m about to do a few words on a cotton baby onesie. So is it important to put some sort of stabilizer on it? And if so, do I have to take it off when I’m done?
Sooooo HELPFUL! I’m a total beginner to embroidery but I want so badly to put the names on our new stocking this year myself! Thanks for your perfect explanation!🎉 God bless and Merry CHRISTmas!!🎁🎄
Thank you! This is amazingly simple to follow. I made a baby quilt for my daughter while pregnant but never finished it because I was waiting to add her name and birth date. I've been hesitant to give it to someone just in case they make a mistake with spelling. I'm going to practice this hand embroidery and hopefully have her baby quilt done soon!...she's 15 months now😂
I'm glad you like it and find it useful. Yes, practicing to get the spacing and "feel" will greatly help you. Would love to see a picture when you're done. Congratulations!

I want to gift my mom a hanky with her name embroidered on it on her birthday... I knew only back stitch till now... But after this video i m surely going to try more stitches... Thanks for the help... 😊😊
Thank you for this video! I was going through some of my grandmother's belongings and found an embroidery piece she had started as a present for her sister (my great aunt) before she passed away. They were best of friends and the loss of my grandmother has been really hard on her. I hope to give her the finished piece for her birthday this month and your video is going to help make that possible. Thank you!

@@PreciousMe Thanks! I'm actually just learning to embroider a 'W' to add to all my cat toys and cat beds this year to remember my cat Whisky that died last Dec 18 :( So I don't have a fancy circle thing or the right fabric and I'm just using denim.
@@ptanyuh When I first started I also did it free form on denim. Denim will keep the stitches without puckering the fabric. You can find embroidery hoops at thrift stores and they are pretty inexpensive.
thank for sharing :) simple and smart can you make a video explaining how to get started? the starting point, if you make knots or not, how long is the wire for 1 letter?
Thanks so much. My daughters masks need to have her name on them for school. I have tried fabric markers but the letters bleed together after a while. This should make labels on her masks and other fabric items last much longer.
I've never done that so would not advise you. But I did a quick google search of hand embroidery on tulle and several You Tube videos came up including an embroidery on a tulle veil. Best best would be to watch those. Good luck!
I've been planning on embroider funny quotes on cotton t-shirts, does anyone have experiences on that? I don't know whether or not it's going to shrink in the washing machine! 💢 Thank you 💕
Pre-wash the t-shirts before embroidering. Most floss is polyester or sometimes silk and neither will shrink. Remember to use some interfacing on the back of your embroidery (under the t-shirt) so the fabric does not pucker. You're going to do great.
I am not able to find the right needle to use. I want a long needle with a large eye. What size are you using in this video and where can I buy some? Can others please comment if you know.
I just used basic embroidery needles (very inexpensive). You can find them at Walmart, Amazon, Joanne's, or anywhere that has embroidery items. Even some basic sewing needles come packaged with the larger embroidery ones.
I feel like there's some information missing - like when you went down the stem of the 'P' in the whip stitch, how do you then move onto the bend of the 'P'? Or Changing directions for the 'K' in the back stitch... Do you just cut off and start again?
No, not at all. It's quite unusual to use all six strands. I did it here so that viewers could see the stitches and lettering better. It will depend on what you are embroidering and what effect you want. The less strands, the more delicate but also more detailed.
I watched this really baked and wow 10/10 experience
You should try stitching baked ;-)

Thanks. Are you asking what material should you use for the patch? Or the embroidery floss? Are you going to be washing it a lot?

That would be personal preference. If it is a long phrase, you may want to stay with any of the simple stitches. Good luck!

You can either cut and start again, or just go to that part. It depends on how neat you want the back to look. Thanks for watching and the question.

do you always use all threads when doing embroidery? for some reason, I thought the threads were seperated.
No, not at all. It's quite unusual to use all six strands. I did it here so that viewers could see the stitches and lettering better. It will depend on what you are embroidering and what effect you want. The less strands, the more delicate but also more detailed.
