Thank you so much for this video. My mother, who recently passed, taught me all these stitches when I was about 5 years old. I'm 61 now & have very happy memories of that time spent with her ❤ I particularly love the cross & chain stitch.

My daughter, now 19, has made jewelry, painted, and crafted in innumerable ways since she was a toddler. She has been teaching herself (with a little help from dad) to sew and alter her own clothes.
I have always told her to respect and learn the old ways, that we will be glad to know them one day

I don't do embroidery, but I learned all these during my elementary school years. I'm now turning 40. My favourite stitch is probably chain stitch bec. it was the only stitch I gained a perfect score for. My feather stitch's perfect score doesn't count since it was my Auntie Zen who did it. Kidding aside, I remember that I used two colours for my chain stitch assignment, black and orange, for Halloween. Thank you for this excellent video and more than that, for bringing to fore fond old memories.

This was nostalgia...my teacher who was pretty ignorant (very strict) in giving any special attention at my struggle of learning these stitches, failed me for needle work😢 since then I worked really hard to secure good grades in academics so that I can be taught computer science instead of needle work. Looking at this video reminded me of my sampler (red colour) which I threw away eventually. On watching this video I think I still need to learn this...thanks for reignition of this interest ❤❤

I'm a 37 year old man and decided to pick up this hobby. I love art, so I'm trying something new to me. I got a two leaf kit with the leaves' outline printed on the fabric already, but I wondered if I could add anything else to it. I can hardly wait to add some French knots and thin stems to create a baby breath plant effect! The kit came with sea green thread for one stem/leaf plant and teal thread for the second stem/leaf plant, but it also included white thread. There aren't instructions given for its usage, so I'm extremely excited to stumble on your video for the ideas to reduce waste!

Thank you! I've seen a lot of these stitches in crazy quilts. Nice to see them plainly done.

I think straight line stitch is my favorite because that’s the only I can do it without making any mistakes.🥹
    Just kidding.😊
Great tutorial. I am learning how to do these kind different types of stitches. I am definitely going to follow this tutorial and learn more.
    Thank you.😊

These are nice even for those of us who are not beginners, including some stitches I had never seen before. This would be lovely framed as a sampler for reference purposes. Thank you.
