Will this work on a pre made knit sweater or does it have to be a crochet garment to start with?
Yes it will ☺️ as long as the stitch is loose enough to fit your hook into 😊

It was a calligraphy font from canva ☺️
Would this work if the sweater underneath was horizontal? I'm thinking of making a banner for a friend but the banner would have to be horizontal i'd assume
