    Okay so I was really bored and wanted to do some embroidery and I came across this video and thought there is no way I could do this since it is my first time, but later I tried it and I couldn't believe it myself how well it came out, your tutorial helped me so much and I realized how fun this it, however I didn't wanted to do the word "Happy" so since my brother's name starts with H I did his name and it came it really well, Thank you so much for this video, it was so helpful!

    What type of fabric do you usually use? Needle size? And how many threads do you typically use as well? I’m just getting into embroidery but I don’t know how to improve on the small details to better my craft. At first I used random needle sizes that didn’t work with the fabric I selected, and used all six strands of embroidery floss! Many websites conflict when I look into it, and so I’m just curious what your personal preference is!

    • @CutesyCrafts
      @CutesyCrafts  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      This is 100% linen, but my favorite it a cotton/linen blend. I have a post about it here: cutesycrafts.com/2018/07/best-embroidery-fabric.html. I used 3 strands of floss for this and that's my favorite amount to use for this kind of lettering. I'll use different amounts, depending on how thick I want the stitches. Here's a post about supplies, where I talk about needle sizes: cutesycrafts.com/2018/08/5-essential-hand-embroidery-supplies.html. I use a size 8 needle for 3 strands. I have a whole series of beginner information posts here: cutesycrafts.com/how-to-embroider-for-beginners. I hope that helps!

    Could you tell us what you used to do the transfer or trace the lettering? It looks much neater than the water soluble marker I use.

      This is a FriXion pen. Read about the transfer methods I use here: cutesycrafts.com/2018/08/embroidery-transfer-how-to-transfer-an-embroidery-pattern.html

    Hello, that’s awesome, how do you make knots or sealing on the backside please to make sure threads won’t get loose whether for an embroidered canvas or tshirt. Thank you so much and hope to hear from you

      You can tie knots in the end farthest from the needle like this: th-cam.com/video/PQklQCBWEWI/w-d-xo.html OR you can use a no-knot method like these: th-cam.com/video/QTZZ8rpYcf8/w-d-xo.html. For a shirt, you probably don't want a bunch of knots on the back, so probably use a no-knot method. Otherwise, I usually use knots.

    Fab! Thankyou! Now I also need to find the best way of embroidering on black as I’m terrible at art so couldn’t even use a white pen :/

    This is a very helpful tutorial, even 2 years later. I've just ordered an embroidery kit and am hoping to embroider elvish (tengwar) lettering around some sleeves and such :D i'm very excited to start now i know how to do some curved letters

    Great tutorial! May I ask what pen/pencil you use to draw your designs on to your fabric? Thank you. X
