You just cant beat the 60's 70's and early 80's ROCK N ROLL God Blessed us all back then with Music that really had Heart Poured into it !!!!!!!! Miss being a Sound Engineer from those day's it was a Memorable Experience Tour Bus Runs and Early Rise for Set-Up and Sound Checks and late to Bed with a Good Joint and the Echo of the Tour Bus Engine purring me to sleep !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I can still close my Eye's and Hear It, and Feel It, I can still remember Cruisin Hollywood Blvd and Sunset Strip going up and down the Blvd. when I wasn't on Tour, I had the Top Down Jammin And Cruisin nothing else like it, The Good Ole Day's WHEN MUSIC WAS A WAY OF LIFE !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I think the best of all was being able to go on Tour Overseas seeing other cultures of Life and There People so a Blessing to be able to reminisce on all of it is just knowing what I did I made a lot of People Happy !! and got to know them and can still call them My Friend's I still to this Day call some of them and write them God Bless all of Them and to many I can't R.I.P.

I’m 72 and can’t believe I didn’t go totally nuts over people back in the day that had this amazing kind of talent. They are more important to us then any politician that ever slithered into the government.

This was one of the greatest concerts of all time, I remember watching this on tv as a child. (Live) Line up included; Pink Floyd, Led Zeppelin, Status Quo to name a few. This started my love for music.
This was on VHS in my local library for reasons that will never be clear, I lived in a 5000 population small rural town in Finland back then.I would just repeatedly loan this tape and watch it. Status Quo, Dire Straits and Elton John were the artists presented. I didn't care so much for the others, I just re-watched Dire Straits again and again. Good times.

He adopted his style of picking from Chet Atkins, and then built on it. His album “Brothers in Arms “ with Chet shows the admiration he had for the man.

At the concert , part of the set had Elton on keyboards , Phil Collins on drums and Clapton. I'm sure Paul McCarney featured somewhere as well but my memory is a bit fuzzy.
He's a bass player of course, but are you sure it's not Sting? There's a version of this song featuring Knopfler, Clapton, Sting on bass and vocals and Phil Collins.

I think Clapton, Knopfler and Richard Thompson are *the* giants of British guitar playing. Not sure any of them is king as such. But all hugely talented lead guitarists and singer-songwriters (which is why I leave out, say, Jeff Beck).
Not only two of the greatest pickers ever...but I could watch Ray Cooper all day long...the stories those guys must have...especially Ray...he appears with all of the gods of music for a reason...
