80s😊 was great time, for life and Music, wish we could go back 😢
Me too. Isn't it ironic the best times were back there. We knew it hence why we lived what we did but we also knew it wasn't going to last. Celebrate you did, I did, all Gen x did. Rock on!
Something to believe in is still my favorite song of theirs
I’m 51, so I’m an 80’s girl. I love Poison! Seen them in 1991 and then again in 2022. This is one of my favorite songs ❤
Reading the back story on this song. It's personal to Brett. He was on tour and found out his woman was cheating with someone from another band. Was told writing a ballad at that time would fail. But the emotional breakup song was made and became the iconic hit. Timeless song.
Who would have lied to him that a ballad would fail? By the time this came out it was already a hard and fast rule from the record companies that the 1st single off an album was a rock song and the 2nd single was a ballad.
@@donbergeson6771 Nevertheless, he is right. Upper management didn't like the song and didn't see it as a hit. Brett and his band mate's liked it and wanted it on the record. They won out, and the rest is history
CC DeVille.......criminally underrated as a guitar god!
I saw Poison and Warrant in concert back in 1991, best concert ever!
I feel like you need to follow this up with Don't Know What You Got (Til It's Gone) by Cinderella. Another powerful 80's power ballad/love song. A lot of these hair metal bands don't get the credit they deserve. It's not all cheese ball 😛
I grew up listening to this and still love it.
The plaintive cry of CC's guitar combined with Brett's vocals. THis is a song where the fact that the singer does not have the best voice in the world works out for the song. Its a voice that feels more relatable as do the lyrics.
CC Devilles guitar playing is posion
An Iconic Song from another era, from other past times...And better
CC your a legend up there with Slash !
I got this Album at home , it is normal Hard Rock from the 80 , but i listen 2024 as a 56 years old Metalhead all kind if Rock / Metal = Heavy Metal is the Best Music on this Planet ! My start as a Metalhead was 1980 with 13 years
I recommend you I remember you- from skid row . Is a power full ballad. 👋
I believe after researching, the live bits are 1988 on tour with Vixen at Daytona beach FL.
This is a Poison's anthem ❤❤❤
This particular song went to #1 on December 26th 1988, which is the day I was born.
This was my first concert and my gate way band to metal
"There are no mistakes, only lessons". You are wise beyond your years.
Poison always had good Ballard style songs.
also could be taken as.....(coming from a road dog that toured with a bunch of these guys) Not only about the relationship that was left behind...but the toll it took on them, their bodies, their souls.....just in this video ...yeah great time! they were on tour (the rose) but you see at one point , all of them being picked up and carried off stage (the thorn) so it has two meanings in all leaving the one you love , for a life on the road.....and the total exhaustion of being on said road. And Brett is still going strong to this day has seen him at his best, and worst, but always comes back for more!
Everytime my dad came back from a night out drunk he would blast this song. RIP dad miss you
love your purple hair and funky glasses
We all can relate to this song. 80s metal ballads ❤!! I recommend “Steelheart - I’ll Never Let You Go (Angel Eyes)” .
Absolutely. Great suggestion for Steelheart, probably the best metal ballad around.
Still love this song.. this does bring back tough memories for me personally and believe its based on his own(Brett) relationships.
One of my fav song by them is 'Something To Believe In'.. which i believed you already reacted to and probably I am watching right now.. Hehe..
Every Gen X'Er has this on their playlist.🍻🤘
I wish I could go back to the 80s
I'd really enjoy watching you react to "I Saw Red" by Warant. Similar to this, story wise. It's an amazing tune.
The best era 80,90s when it comes to music very good classics excellent reaction I would like you to react to Guns n Roses thank you Good vibes 💚💛❤️
CC making the guitar cry, iconic.
If I recall, "standard practice" at the time was the third single was the ballad. So, even if it's a band's first album (this was from their second), they'd be touring a lot at the time. Adding the conert and backstage footage seemed sensible and common enough.
Purely FYI: The famous proverb “Every rose has its thorn” originated as a French or Italian saying (Pas de rose sans epine; Non i.e rosa senza spine).
3:42 it’s an old French and Italian phrase. Basically their thought was he who wants a rose, must respect the thorn.
Listen to something to believe in
I used to live dj on my Internet radio station and at a few clubs in second life online community and made a playlist of rock ballads.
Loved this song since my youth when it came out because of my older sister
you said "love hurts"... you HAVE TO listen to Nazareth's version of that song. Beautiful from start to finish
Poison- Fallen Angel♪
Amazing reaction like always...
I think it's time for some Bon Jovi...
Congratulations for your channel and saluts from Brazil...
Nice choice.... This is a iconic... Next Bon jovi Always or This ain't love song( live Wembley stadium 95) highly requested from ur fans
Mizoram_NE India
Hey Rayactions. Check out the Poison concert live in St. Louis, Missouri.
It is fire!.
Great reaction. Love your channel!
Every rose has it's thorn, even something beautiful can still hurt you
Poison got a lot of crap for being as successful as they were in the 80's and early 90's... but they were a fun, energetic rock band that did not deserve that contempt... Some of Poison's other hits - 'Unskinny bop' ... 'Something to believe in' ... 'Ride the wind' ... "I won't forget you"... 🤘🤘🔥
'Every rose has its thorn' was written by Bret Michaels (lead vocals) after a relationship went kaput when he discovered that she was allegedly seeing someone else.
Bands from the 80's like Warrant... L.A. Guns ... Kix ... Tesla ... Dokken... like Poison, offered some great music and entertaining live shows.
fantastic! i had the album! yes i am that guy!
One of my all day time favorite ballads from a band not enough folks take seriously. Hey, could you react to some Cheap Trick? Maybe The Flame if you want another classic ballad, or anything from their live at Budokan show. California Man or Downed, Ain't That a Shame, etc.
Love can hurt so much sometimes, it leaves a scar for life. Maybe you did some other songs by Poison but here's a little list of songs you could react to. Love songs like Life Goes On, Until You Suffer Some, Theatre Of My Soul, I Won't Forget You and the beautiful Something To Believe in wich is not really a love song but it's a ballad, some more rocking songs like Talk Dirty To Me, Nothing But A Good Time, Fallin' Angel, Ride The Wind, Look What The Cat Dragged In, So Tell Me Why, Stand, I Want Action.
When this song came on the radio...i flipped the channel🤣🤣😂😂🤣🤣
Brett was on tour when he called home to his girlfriend. She answered the phone he heard another man in the background. Brett hung up heartbroken and never spoke to the girl again. And wrote this song.
When he says, " yeah it does," it just past his video and whoever misses that soul message, never ever heard him sing this song. Funny it came from a band named, " poison."
The time when hair metal artists wrote a love song a few bands followed suit
Yeah and Bill and Ted gave it as a quote in their movies😊
I was never a huge poison fan, but this song is great
Every rose has it’s thorn meaning the rose is a woman and when a woman break your heart it’s like a thorn hurting you
I saw some of your videos with slipknot but fun fact before cory taylor did slipknot he was in another band called stone sour and the one I recommend is Gone sovereign/absolute zero
The chorus is a cheat code to get into Heaven when St. Peter asks you what's the meaning of life?
If you got that, you're my people.
They have another one I like very much. It's called Give me something to believe in. I'm not sure if you've covered that yet if you have not, I'm sure you will like it.
Written by Poison. More of a tear 😢 jersey is the next video 📹 Poison performs Something to Believe In.
C.C. making that guitar sing.
1993 me and brothers were at a party where everyone there crashed and me and girlfriend slept on pull out bed and I had long hair "80s" style and my girl had hair like chick with Bret and out of blue a dude walked through living room and said wtf is this a looks like poison video miss those days and being 16 years old
AUTOMATIC SUN THE WARNING 😎😜🤣🤘
Another suggestion for you by the band poison is called "something to believe in" and it's a sad song but also true fact Bret Michaels is diabetic
🤘😎
Check this song 'About Us-Right Now' from Nagaland, India. Please
You are extremely beautiful and cute making wonderful comments ❤❤❤
You should checkout What It Takes, by Aerosmith. Same vibe. Loved this video.
Next Noah band Hero live at music everywhere
He wrote that song in Dallas Texas at a laundromat after he called his girlfriend and heard another guy's voice in the background is the story that I understand about it
You said love hurts. Love doesn't hurt. Love bites by Def Leppard, you should check that out.
It's a break up song. I listen to hair nation on SXM. The band just finished a show they were at a laundromat and the lead singer Bret called his girlfriend and heard another man's voice in the background. He wrote the song while doing laundry
Reaction immaculate misconception by motionless in white pliss🙏🏻🙏🏻
Back when music was good
When Bill and ted talk to god, and say the chorus to him😂😂
Here are some videos you should react to Smooth Up In Ya by the Bulletboys Lips 💋 and Hips by the Electric Boys I Wish It Would Rain and Chain Of Fools by Little Caesar Sex by Kix Shout It out by Shotgun Messiah Runaway by Luis Cardenas Mon Cheri and Its all Over But the Crying by the Georgia Satellites
Can you can react to Spiritbox - Constance (Acoustic Live 2021)?
Nazareth - LOVE HURTS.
Btw Bret wrote song over a girlfriend cheated on him....
That's I got poison life's loves a tragedy on my neck
Also why I named son Bret Michaels and I've seen poison 16 times in my life best band ever second with Volbeat
They used the phrase its been around along time

If you want a little more of an aggressive breakup song there is always Everything Ends by Slipknot.
You look like Caitlin Clark 😂
Next song:
KAMELOT : FOREVER
Pls react to seventy thorns from kim dracula ft Jonathan Davies, I need it.
I remember this song in high school……….it still sucks.
Cheesy poop music. It was a big hit of course. The times...
I Bet you have a Perfect Relationship 🙏😇😎👍🤛🤙
I enjoyed philosophical Rachel!!!! ❤
Here's another cliche that seems quite fitting. "Its better to have loved and lost than to have never loved at all." I totally agree with this!
Miley Cyrus covered this.
You are a singer, right?
Alice in hell by Annihilator
Wrote the song in a laundry place after his gf cheated on him
I should take being told that I look like Brett michaels as a compliment a lot, but I don't because I don't like poison or Brett michaels.
south park
Its thorn, not "it's thorn"
You have a very sexy voice ❤️❤️❤️
A good song, iconic? Save that for Michael Jackson dance, Eagles live Hotel California, Pink Floyd live Comfortably Numb....just a favorite of yours. It's Like, He's like, ??? Still a teen in talks!?
música chata
Don't talk out of your hoo ha too much
Oh my goodness this is the dumbest song in the world. 🤦🏼♀️ How is “every rose has its thorn” analogous to “every night has its dawn” and “every cowboy sings a sad sad song?” I have fun at Poison nostalgia concerts but I literally lol at people crying with their lighters during this song. And I am a Gen-X-er so this was huge during my hair metal fan era.
Can you react Sick Like Me by In This Moment?
To see such positive responses to these songs from the 80's by 20 year olds only validates just how good our music was in our teens. Alway enjoy seeing these reactions.
miley cyrus does a great version of this song!!
@@normankennith7919 nobody cares about Miley cirus she will be irrelevant in 5 years
@@normankennith7919 no she doesnt! It sounds horrible!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
@@user-qv3ko7uq2w she was younger then but it was a good effort but she has become a very good rock singer now she is older!
