Man this thing has a great tone. It deserves to be on stage making music somewhere 🤘

  • @nicholas_james

Had a '77 LP Deluxe for many years. Great tone; dark is what everyone thinks when they hear "Seventies Les Paul" but those minis have a cutting tone that provide a rich fullness with sustain. Mine was Wine Red, and I sold it because it would cut off circulation in my shoulder nearly causing me to faint on stage. They built 'em heavy, but you can hear that in the sustain!

This may be the best I have heard Lemmo sound playing an LP, really deft touch. That guitar sounds like a bell covered in honey. If Bonamassa heard that Norm will probably get a phone call soon. That was awesome.

I have a 69 LP Deluxe that I bought back in 2002. I wanted a new Les Paul Standard but couldn’t afford it. At the time no one wanted Norlin era guitars so you could get them real cheap. I’m glad to see them get some recognition. This one sounds amazing in Lemmos hands! They are great Les Pauls.

Always associate these with Townshend in the 70s. Those early to late 70s Who tours were the staple of this guitar (usi=ually numbered 1 - 6) and the p/ups I think featured on the signature model. Would see them in Firebirds as well

That Deluxe sounds great! I bought a Tobacco Sunburst one new in 1973, first year for that finish. Mine didn’t sound as good as the Goldtop in the video, but I think a lot of that was the amp I had at the time, a Kustom K-200 with 3-12” Altec speakers.

I find it unbelievable that people will still buy this crap from the 70"s. Nostalgia. Same with the Fenders from the 70's.Just because it is old does not make it a fine instrument. PS. I managed Danny Gatton's store in the mid-seventies. I do need to complement you on your playing.

... my first guitar was a 73 goldttop... and... people at that time down like it very much... because of the 3 part neck and the pan cake etc.
.... I lost it... the neck was broken on stage... and the insurance gave me money and took the guitar... 😢
it took more than 40 years and I found a 74... and I would say it was better than my first one... and.... really I think it is better than this here.... people here are amazed about it.... but I say... this 74 is more creamy than these 71...
what I heard in the intro..... so let me hear the whole video
    but refer to the intro
I say... this 74 is more creamy than these 71...
really... I have not heard such sound from the wood before.... not one.... it s great and unique...
so I bought it.... wasn t cheap at this time.... but now you won't get one to this price... 🙁
    now... I heard more:
oh yeah..... the first minutes.... it really sounds great.... oh yes...
    it has magic...
but I keep on say my 74 has more the creamy sound.... I haven't heard on such a guitar before
    but.....l m also fascinated by your 71....
    it s magic...
😊.... there was a song in the 70ies.... "do you believe in magic..."
    oh yes I do
and people say that they were no good guitars are completely wrong....
ok.... some are not as good as these guitars and have not this magic.... but I think each one sounds better than the ones from the custom shop
so.... have a good time... and a happy new year...
    greetings from Germany
