I am French 🇫🇷. We do not eat between meals. We drink water not sodas. We cook at home. Not as much process food as Americans. Very rarely delivery food except pizza. And voilà.

I think this is very healthy. Bit I also think it's really unhealthy that when you go to a bistro in France you'll be the only person eating lunch while others smoke their cigarette lunch and wash it down with alcohol. For me eating also includes the environment, for example not passive smoking.

As a French native I will happily share our real secret, although you have done and are doing a great job, all of your tips are part of the French lifestyle but the main one is to chew longer. Somehow the French do it and I think that's because we do indeed savor every bite as we treasure food but the reason it works so well is because saliva is the first digestive process your body starts, then food goes down to the your stomach and the rest of the digestive system where all kinds of fluids are there to take care of breaking down the food but it cannot do this properly if you swallow your food too fast and does not let your saliva prepare/pre digest the food for your intestines etc. On top of this, when you chew longer you eat less because you are more satisfied. Nature is very smart!
Find a way to chew longer and you will see the difference in your approach to food, your digestion improving and overall great feeling!
    Enjoy!

I was married to a Frenchman, and lived in Cannes and Paris for 4 years. My husband harassed me to lose weight, lose weight, be thin, show your cheekbones. I ended up weighing about 112lbs. The middle and upper class women in the Cities attempted to remain stick thin to wear Couturier style clothes and appear elegant. Sad to say, many of the Frenchmen I knew had younger mistresses, so the wives were driven by the competition. Meanwhile in the countryside and small provincial towns, the women were naturally well rounded.

Your ex husband is so dumb. If he wanted a stick, why did he choose to marry someone that isn't French?
It's not about your weight. He just wanted to lower your self esteem. Because French women are gorgeous, yet their "husbands", STILL have mistresses.
It has nothing to do with you, it has everything to do with him. 💁‍♀️

Fresh, Fries have zero. Once a person becomes sodium balanced, they just do not crave it anymore. Sodium holds ALL the fat calorie, weight, because the body is scared to get dehydrated. We are also much more alert when sodium is low. Just read every label. No name tuna, for example is 14% while high end is 1%. Its like the gov purposefully wants folks less alert. I never watch fat content, only sodium, so it's not a diet, it's just a health and shopping choice. easy to google too, and there are no foods that you are not allowed to eat, and most often, much better tasting. Thank you for the lovely video. There's one thing I struggle with. Every since my husband died I eat in front of the TV and I realized it was for the "conversation". Terrible. But I look forward to it so much. I know the loss of a spouse completely upsets one's eating habits. You don't need to respond but I just thought I'd throw that in. God bless you Sandra and have a wonderful day.

Diane I understand loneliness completely. By eating in front of the television and while someone is talking makes you feel like you have someone dining with you. Perhaps if you prepared your tray ( or wherever you eat) more festive as though someone was really in the room with you, it would feel more like dining with friends or your late husband. Try it. Love your way. ❤️

Have you thought about lighting a few candles, along with a few ' low light lamps', in order to dine ? I understand, and it is a matter of shifting the mindset , and to be honest...I agree with Sandra when she commented that it would feel more like dining with someone, or even your late husband. Allow yourself to feel like you WANT to " treat yourself well", even when it comes to dining , and I wish you the best. Blessings~

I think the French have it all right....food should be a celebration to be enjoyed with others or even alone.....not mindlessly consumed.
Your table is set beautifully. I love having my food on a gorgeous setting and I am alone.
I've been seeing this phrase on alot of foods lately...including restaurant portions "a thoughtful portion". I saw it on some frozen foods also.
I think if we look at Americans Super Sized fast food industry it's easy to see why Americans are heavier than they have ever been in history.
And it's like a rabbit hole...increased weight can increase health issues.

Bea, I think we are all guilty of over eating sometimes. Or even guilty of emotional eating when we are not really hungry. It’s just important, at least for me, to think of eating and food and my relationship to food in a different way. If you start pushing yourself away when you’re full and perhaps using smaller plates for your food you will be surprised that you really will start to lose weight. Best of luck and I know you can do it.❤️

I believe just being simple is key. I am 50 and just about every teenager I pass start talking to me like I’m their age. I’ve been this same size since high school due to fasting and cooking basic healthy along with eating raw vegetables 🥦 🥕 🥗 & juicing and never been on medication for anything except a painkiller when my wisdom tooth was pulled. Many people are emotional eaters and feeding into social media, constructs, trends and behaviors causes people to be distracted and then use food to soothe all this information that bombards snd clouds their judgment concerning themselves because they compare themselves to everyone and everything. It is simple and love how you refer to your setup when eating. It’s everything because it contributes to the detoxification of your well-being. Being conscious and living in the moment helps me enjoy the moment more than the food although the taste 👅 is palatable. Being healthy mentally, emotionally, spiritually aids in being healthy physically. Of course, all the tips you have provided are fabulous and true. Thanks for sharing!

Now, even though I dislike exercise, I find that I miss doing my little workout, if I don't! It's actually shown some positive results. Victoria. It really is true that we are what we eat. It is also true that it is how we think about food in our relationship with food that keeps us healthy. I am sorry that you lost your husband five years ago, but your happiness now is very important. I am sure your husband would want it to be that way. Thank you for watching today.❤️

So glad you have discovered Pilates! I had always felt drawn to try it and bought a barely used Pilates reformer on Facebook Marketplace at age 64 . I love it! it has changed my body into a long, lean, strong, fit, toned body. It's a sexy body now! I feel better, have more energy, much better balance, mobility, and flexibility. It is the best form of exercise I have ever done. I also love using the cardio rebounder attachment to simulate running on it. Life changing machine machine which gives a great mind-body workout!

Enjoyed your video! I am French and can totally relate - it is very difficult for me not to have at least 2 courses with a meal - I need a salad! My husband would love to eat in front of the TV, on his lap or coffee table, and the kids would agree with him.
We all laugh at me (including myself) because I just can't eat on my lap without spilling... plus it's not enjoyable. I have to agree that eating a meal rhymes with enjoyment for me, it is also a time to get together as a family. It's not just good for your figure, it's also great for family time!

It was driving me crazy. I am so happy I was able to get him off the couch and have a nice dining experience with him on our balcony. Thank you so much for sharing today. Maybe we can get all of our husbands off the couches at least for one meal😊❤️

Amen. I do almost everything you do but I add intermittent fasting often times up to 18-20 hours. My goal is to eventually get to Omad at least a couple of times a week. This would be beneficial for my cancer and wonderful for aging. I have an Aero Pilates machine that I use and love bc, I too, hate to go to gyms. I also do keto and try to eat nothing but organic with huge salads. Thank you again, just love your suggestions.

Hi Sandra. You shared some great advice! I agree with all these suggestions. As I mentioned to you before, we are renovating an old apartment, here in Georgia (Europe). Our new place will have a fitness room and we already work out there, 5 days a week. I will also be making a goal to set a beautiful table, like you have, for sharing our meals together. Right now, in this other apartment, we don't have a dining table and have to sit on the coach, and lean over a coffee table. We also are watching our programs on the laptop, while we eat. That will change when we move in our apartment, this spring. It's always a pleasure to watch your videos, every Tuesday.

Christina I am so excited for you during your renovation of your new ‘old’ apartment.,It must be really hard work but a lot of fun seeing everything come together. I can understand your eating arrangement right now because it’s not a forever situation. You have to make do with what you have. When you do finish your renovations though how exciting it will be to dine leisurely with your husband. Keep us up to date on your progress!!❤️
