- In every DOOM game, the weapons are the tools of destruction that the DOOM Slayer utilizes. DOOM The Dark Ages revealed some of the new weapons that the Slayer will be able to use, but what other weapons could be used in the campaign? In this video, I will be discussing the new weapons that have been revealed and talk about possible weapons that we could see by the time the game releases.

What is your all-time favorite weapon from all of the DOOM games?
SSG, no contest. It's stayed consistently useful throughout the entire series since it's introduction in Doom 2 :)
SSG, but the Unmaykr is close because of how cool it is.
BFG - 9000
SSG. Always was, always will be.
Super shotgun because it's the slayer's Excalibur. Also, the shield-saw because it's freaking awesome
I wonder what the new rocket launchers gonna be, Im expecting some type of cannon
Haha they’d be crazy, I seen a post that maybe there could be argent energy powered weapons that the maykrs give us
Like something with an arc for the projectile fall off?
@@Chipchipchip715 Maybe, could also act like the cannon from serious sam
The Terminator 2 "blooper" grenade launcher. You know they'll do it
The way I hope they do it is the weapon wheel being split into 2 weapon types, guns and melee. Like one side would have the nail gun, shotgun, skull gun etc. And the other side would be the flail, sword, cestus to do up close kills. Either way they probably wouldn't do that and insread do their own thing, I'm still hyped for what they got for us.
That nail gun looks really cool and wouldn't be new to ID games at all.
I can only imagine what the game’s BFG will be like or maybe the super weapon will be a buffed unmaykr since the unmaykr has a more ancient origin
Imagine if he gets his hands on the Demonic Unmakyr
Accoring to the codex of the Ballista in Doom Eternal, the night sentinels used it to defend from a demonic siege, so it might exist in the time period of the Dark Ages.
I'd like weapons like a 40k warhammer, a giant greatsword and spiked fists. More out there weapons would be ripping the head off a boss and using it against its will and using it as a gun, maybe Revenant cannons or just one Revenant cannon and using it as a rocket launcher that'd shoot slow moving lost souls that'd explode. A demon warrior's gun could be like a bfg that charges with demon souls. Maybe a demon crusible that does the same. Since its a large scale war now maybe we'll be able to summon allies and customize them. I hope there's a castle siege level. IMO the game's gonna end with The Doom Slayer being tricked and having a temple fall on him like in Doom 2016's lore.
Asking me what DOOM gun I like best is like asking which testicle I like best…
You have eight testicles?!?
Left
It's gonna be bloody
I really want to see the combat shotgun return, i just can't play without it.
There's definitely gonna be berserk powerup.
I think the rail spike will replace the heavy assault rifle, and the skull crusher might replace the combat shotgun. And I do think the balista will be there. The accelerator seems to be very similar to the plasma rifle imo
As you speculated, and as supported by the absence of the Meathook, I also think Mods will not feature in TDA, and possibly grenades as well.
It makes sense from a control scheme standpoint, where you'd have the right bumper and trigger unaltered, while the left ones would probably be assigned to the Sawshield. I imagine LB for blocking/parrying, and LT for throwing it. But what do I know, I'm just spitballing lol
The artwork is outstanding...
I’d love to see other melee weapons other than the flail. For example battle axe would fit the slayer super well
I'm wondering what kind of gameplay loop they will go for. In the trailer, there doesn't seem to be any indication of resource management. I'm sure id software wouldn't want to repeat the same ideas, cause then that would be the same game over again. 2016 was basic roots, eternal was fast paced combo shooter, dark ages is a mystery. Can't wait
Bfg 9000 and the super shotgun
You know the doom are may have all of very fantastic weapons and vehicles
The Unmaker hands down
What if we got a revolver?
New weapons inspired from Brutal Doom
Eventually we might not use weapons from the earth, but use sentinels' instead
The SSG from the trailer is the most Toys-r-Us-like toy since the days of laughable Serious Sam 2.
More realistic-looking SSG would be much more badass, such as the one in Doom 2016, or better yet
from Doom3: Resurrection of Evil or Clive Barker's Undying. The Skull Machine or whatever it is, seems
to be more like a BFG-type thing from early versions of the OG Doom, (currently remade as "Doom Delta"),
judging by what it does in action. Although, ripoffs from Painkiller in terms of arsenal are a rather lame move.
I reckon there will be more ripoffs than that: particularly from Necrovision and Evil West, as far as gameplay
loop and special moves go. Doom without a chaingun would on one hand seem weird, but considering
how little love the chaingun was getting design-wise after 1997 (if you don't count the mods), with its
sluggish action and that stupid-ass spin-up, so it's not impossible to imagine this weapon's absence.
Although, Simon Buckner wielding two damn Maxims(!) at the same time - is WAY more impressive than
all these Toys-r-Us Santa-Claus-slayer scenarios. Why...? LOL Because Maxim MG was an actual weapon, and
we know exactly the degree of impossibility of someone wielding it like a mere pistol, let alone go akimbo.
It just screams "superhuman". I guess we will see what ID still can (or no longer can) pull off.
He's gotta have an axe and a some kinda massive sword 😂
I was thinking this too, I'd take a sic axe throw option in lieu of the shoulder cannon. Make the animation quick, have the target get knocked back a step or grimace to give the attack some weight. Oh and a gross "flesh being pummeled" sound upon impact as well please!
i think the rocket launcher will be also one handed weapon, that being held like the one used by the doom hunter in eternal
plus it could be a grenade launcher mode as well.
9:02 I believe that we might have a lever action shotgun to go with our arsenal right alongside the super shotgun. This wouldn’t be the first time we’ve seen lever action shotguns in a doom game before, as both the combat and super shotguns in doom 64 were lever actions if you look back on their designs. While probably designed to be lever actions due to the limitations of the reload animation back then, I believe Hugo made a note on this and considered both shotguns to be made this way to work around holding the shield in one hand.
Isn’t this super shotgun a lever action? Or this isn’t the same one
What about like an exploding cross bow in place of the rocket launcher
Rail spike = Precision bolt
I am so, excited for Doom The Dark Ages! I have been watching the trailer everyday.
We need a 20min gameplay footage.
Shield can only parry green attacks
