good stuff! you don't even have to convert to midi to pitch hi hats and snares- once it's on a pattern sequencer by itself just use cntrl+optn+n (note) and you can pitch them in the sequencer- super easy (unless you want individual notes of a roll pitched differently)
Most Logic Pro Guys rushed to put out a video on day one. One guys kept saying I haven't figured this out yet. How relevant will that be next month? These tips will live on forever. Thanks for this video. I made my first beat with 10.5 this week and love the step sequencer but everything in this video I struggled with and was telling myself I need to learn the shortcuts, I had not figured out the swing, so thanks again
Second video I watched today on this channel and im so happy with the new shortcuts you showed me. Thanks! It inspires me to use the sequencer more often.
Great tips! Have you found any way to finetune and repeat a velocity sequence? I want to create a hihat sequence that has a complex velocity rhythm to it. The only way I can see is to create each cell and manually adjust each velocity slider one by one. So tedious and difficult to dial in the exact number. I feel like there should be the option to type in the specific number and once you have the sequence for a few cells, just copy and paste to fill out the sequence. Any suggestions? Thanks!
If there a way to hot swap without drag drop like Fl studio has a mouse middle click option to swap midi or sample. Thanks for the videos you are awesome 👏
Great tutorial, brother. Thanks. That first key command you gave us was "alt - o". On Mac that's "option - o" just in case anyone, like me, didn't know.
Great tutorial! I'm wondering if it's possible to drop a midi pattern into the step sequencer that I've played in via the midi keyboard? I tend to just play everything in (then quantize) as it's more fun than clicking notes in, but I would like to work the step sequencer into my workflow somehow especially for editing and adding trills etc. Thanks!
If I build a pattern and that add additional sounds to the DMD later, the additional sounds don't show up in the pattern region. Does anyone know how to add the additional sounds to the exiting pattern region?
Hey Shane, great tutorial. I have a question though. When I converted to midi and separated by notes, it actually copied 8 of the first track (kick drum)... it didn't separate to their individual track like you did on your video. Am I doing something wrong?
i try to change the note to 1/32 triplets but it changes all the notes to 1/32T not just the note SMH.. i ended up going back to ultrabeat and piano roll
dang i guess i should have accepted all the new key commands when logic first prompted me when i updated to 10.5. i was worried it was going to overwrite all of my custom key commands. do you know anything about this? thanks
If I want a high hat to be 1/8 and then a series of 1/16 notes can I do this in the same row or do I need to create additional rows of the same sound to achieve this?
yo shane! I don't know if it's just me but when I try to quantize by key in the piano roll, the quantize button is greyed out now and I can't click it. this is happening across all my projects and only started after i updated to 10.5. any clue as to why that happened?
@@EchoSoundWorks oh not the quantize to grid command! I know you probably don't use it but when you open the midi clip and it shows the piano roll, on the left where it has all the functions there's something called "scale quantize" and the Q button for that is always grayed out. I'm not sure why

Advanced, Hidden Tips/Tricks are always better, that's what make Tutorial the Best.
Otherwise regular tutorials are all over the TH-cam.
Always such great videos man, you're an inspiration and deserve so many more views and subs. Much respect and thanks X
Awesome tutorial, Can you show how to pan, add reverb or delay to an individual cell
Could I use battery 4 drums with the step sequencer?
Shane ! Need an opinion .. Komplete 12 or Omnisphere ?
thanks for sharing these shortcuts!

how do you do choke groups?
Don MadDonald commenting just to lurk.
@@89ji76 what do you mean with that bro? I don't understand.. to lurk what?
Don MadDonald to see if there’s an answer later lol
@@89ji76 hahahahahah got you!!!
@@DonMadDonald Open Drum Machine Designer and click the little gear for that piece of your drum kit. It's called "Exclusive group"
Great tutorial! Thanks a lot!
Helpful thanks brother
As always dude your amazing. Thanks for always sharing! Stay safe and healthy brother!

Nice tips, thanks! What drum samples are you using?
These ones were from a couple of our packs. Mainly X Keys
Awesome man! Thank you so much you're very good at explaining things.
Can I copy velocities from one region to the next region? I'm not seeing it!
hello , you can say how made patterns with (for example...)a controller like launchpad mini or similar
What drum kit are these samples from?
Nice video! 💯❤️
Amazing job man! Much appreciated!!!!!
Might have to get back to using Logic Pro, to test these new additions! Phenomenal tutorial man!

You can combine the two by finding out that doesn’t work and then tweaking your current set up
When will ESW Floom Vol 2 be released? 🤔🤔🤔🤔🤔🤔🤔🤔🤔🤔🤔🤔🤔
Great tutorial by the way, absolutely loving Logic 10.5!
dude, if only my beats were as good as your logic tutorials 🔥
If I want a high hat to be 1/8 and then a series of 1/16 notes can I do this in the same row or do I need to create additional rows of the same sound to achieve this?
Chris you can do it on one but it might be easier to do on two!

Good vid
This was a very good tutorial.
nice tips!
Thanks for checking out the video
Great Video! I learned a lot. However, the drag and drop each sample is so tedious. Logic really needs to come up with a quicker way just swap samples
