As an occasional, semi-retired urbex'er, this seems like a great way to scope out spots. You're reaaaally selling me on this Avata!
Man I would be super careful flying in those buildings, my avata goes absolutely nuts if gps signal lost during flight.
Hey Billy, not sure you noticed but those doors by the stairwell are all open for access inside the building, so you could go in thru the door and out thru the big broken window in hte middle of the building

Do a video of you flying the drone in the building
He’d lose signal quickly indoors with the Avata.. The O3 transmission in the Avata works nothing like the O3 in the Mavics and Inspire.. between not having GPS indoors and the flaky signal surrounded by all the metal and concrete he’d just end up with a lost drone that he can’t get to retrieve unfortunately.. I bought mine to do more indoor flying work and it just doesn’t work like we’d like. Plenty of fun outdoors and when I’m shooting large indoor open warehouses though. Cheers!

Next time really take us inside that building for an exploration. Flying indoor is another experience especially in sport mode, lol. With the fly simulator on your RC Pro you certainly got the skills.
Great exploring. I do the same thing. I first scout the area with a camera drone, than the Avata for the closer shots. I know that area where the abandoned building was located. Thanks for sharing.

I have just got an Avata, and it is seriously impressive. I can fly and have a bunch or Race drones so found the Avata to be very easy to get sorted. The motion controller is also great to to use and makes the flight more cini like verses the RC Controller 2. And of course the video from the Avata is almost as good as I can get from the Gopro 10 but not quite as smooth as the AIR2S. Love that Mavic 3 PRO video is mind blowing.
The motion controller has range issues though.
Pro Tip before hitting gaps like that find access to that floor, Also change RTH if signal lost to HOVER, IF you lose signal in the gap its better to hover than try to return to home and wreck you can always get closer or get out of the car.

Hey billy great video. Great building to explore. Strange there was no bird there. I have the pavo pico if you’re wanting that to explore. Small and would be easier in some way , but with the features of the avata might be safer . Well done 👍

I have a similar situation here in my town. There is a huge old steam plant with all of the boilers and turbines and even the dials and gears intact inside (city has rehab plans and posted a few pix). But, the outside is completely surrounded with chain link fence with razor wire. But lots of big windows upper floors and easy access for the Mini 4pro. Easy! But, what if I lost the drone in there? There is NO way I could get access to retrieve it!
So...this is three months later now...still haven't gone in?

Almost hitting those power lines at 10:00 gave me a mini heart attack. Lost my mavic 1 pro to a prop fail last week and I have some lingering PTSD of seeing the drone spin wildly out of control through the monitor 😢
Now this is what I wish walksnail video system would do, if I went to the other side of the building I'd be worried about loosing video, just not confidence with walksnail. But can't wait till you go inside!
That building was VA Ponte Paper Recycling Plant. That is the building you where flying around. The RCA plant was on Market Street witch is also known as the Nipper Building

Im frustrated. If I tried those maneuvers with my Avata, it would fall to the ground. Mine exhibits that gyro issue very badly. Not sure what the issue is. I don’t have the issue with my FPV drones…
I worked in Camden +20 years ago at an Architectural firm around Federal street and 18th. Camden has is ok and bad areas. I may have brought a friend at that factory though.
Your content is great. I wish people would stop digging in on Camden. Over the years it has become much safer. I fly Camden often and always get out of my car.

At the 9:44 mark, on the left in white, with conduit which might supply electricity and a return feed to what looks like a small microwave dish(I don't really know whet it's really called). Any way, someone is using it for some sort of communications. It looks too new to be part of that building originally. Also, I like the part when you said, 'the wheels are turning'...that looked epic.

Not sure why my previous comment was deleted. All I did was say “Nice! I did a similar video ” I mean it’s all about networking I just find it ironic that I shot a video of an abandoned building a couple weeks ago and then I saw this video. It was a wow factor to me to be quite honest. I can see if the link was on some spam type but it was a TH-cam link.
