What’s the advantage? I’ve never converted to Rec.709. What’s the importance on that step/ do you have any workflow videos on that?
Thanks so much, appreciate it! Yes I always shoot in 4:3 as it utilises the full sensor when filming. It also allows for more wiggle room when stabilising in post and is more suitable for vertical content. You only need to convert the footage into REC 709 if you shoot in d log m otherwise there is no need. Don’t have any workflow video yet but maybe I will post one :)

So, all I have to do to take these wonderful videos is to buy this drone? 😅 Huge respect to you and your flying abilities. Wonderful review and simply stunning location and video. Thanks!
Mate ...Your video is absolutely stunning! I'm only starting on a mini 3 and looking forward to go for a fpv when I will gain more skills. However. You've made me confident into thinking that the Avata 2 must be my next drone. 😌 Thank you for this video and all the best from France. ✌️
Stunning footage! I've just added the Avata 2 and searching for the best video settings. Question, are you using Gyroflow, or the internal processing with "rock steady"?
Amazing, would love to do this as a job... any tips.. i've got this drone and taken a few decent videos... also love the music in the waterfall video what was it called? huge respect Fab
Just superb footage, flying skills and amazing review. Quick question, how did you capture the sound from the motorcycle or was that sound effect added in post?
Do you have a video on how you color grade like the rice field clips? This is exactly how I want my colors to pop but I can't find any video at all showing how to do it
Great video and appreciate the thorough description of the capability of the drone and showing it in action. Question... When you were doing the shoots by the waterfall area, were you using the joystick during that time or the normal controller? P.S. Mine will arrive Tuesday and I'm so pumped!
Grazie mille Michael! The only shots taken on the joystick were the ones at the rice fields, at the bamboo villa and one at the first volcano. You going to love yours 🤘🏽
really liked your video. my only complain ( because I was trying to find the answer ) is knowing which controller you were using on each flight. for example, can you or did you fly down the waterfalls using the motion controller. I am admittedly not good with the RC controller. I own the original avata.
Hey Phillip thanks so much! Great point, I wish I would have added this little detail, next time! The waterfall shots were taken on the RC not the motion controller
@@fabreezy_ Great video anyway!! I think it would be a fun video ( self-serving for me lol ) for you to make a video that pushes the Motion Controller to its limits. Thanks again !!
Everything about your review is absolutely gorgeous. I'm a first time drone pilot having bought the DJI Mini 3 a few months ago. I absolutely love the shots im able to get as I leave near the ocean in Tampa Bay, close to the Skyway Bridge. I'm training myself to be a better drone pilot, and I want to add more to my fleet. Your review has shown me that the DJI Avata 2 is my next purchase :)
Amazing brother, that's awesome to hear! You going to have a great time flying it dude. Been going crazy on this trip but its definitely going to be a step up from your mini 3, Make sure to use my affiliate link in the description pls 😁🙌🏼
The DJI Avata 2 is freaking awesome! Love the colour of the ocean that you are getting. Wow! I am definitely ordering one! Thanks for the video. Subbbed!
Amazing Video, love the shots down the waterfall and the toxic lake. My question to you is, what editing software do you use? Davinci Resolve, Adobe Premiere Pro or Final Cut Pro, etc... Thanks in advance.
Bro thanks for making this video, its really good point of view from a person who always fly traditional custom fpv drones. And it was great experience doing this project together bro 🤙
Thanks so much brother. Was so good to catch up again and fly together. Really appreciate your support in this video and for making sure my drone was dry before the next flight haha. Can’t wait to fly again 🙌🏼🙌🏼🙌🏼🔥
I have now seen plenty of Avata 2 reviews but non of them was even close to this one in my personal opinion because this review is mostly about the Avata 2 as the tool for making the incredible videos, instead of discussing all of the technical stuff.. Regarding the final videos, are those stabilised in the GyroFlow in post or you have used built in stabiliser in Avata 2 ? would like to see some processing/editing of one of those videos from raw to final export if possible in near future... again dude very impressive videos and stunning colors I can see on my Apple Studio display
Thanks so much for your detailed feedback I really appreciate it. It's good to hear you like the less technical stuff and more of the "what you can do with it" approach. I definitely want to focus more on that so that's good to know it's well received! Yeah great idea, I might do a video about that soon, cheers :)
Great video! Thank you. Question. Can you do the waterfall dive type of shot with the DJI Motion controller as same as regular remote controller 3? I am thinking of getting an Avata 2 bundle, but that only comes with a motion controller, and wondering if I need to get the regular remote controller as well......
Fantastic !! Just have a question. I got myself avata2 in Taiwan and brought it to Europe and thinking to get Dji care for Europe though I am reading misleading info. Some says that product and dji care needs to purchased in the same country is that really the case ?
good a few questions for you, Would you put your 5inch FPV drone apart to start fly more with avata 2 ? And you're using reelsteady for pos footage stabilization or using rocksteady from avata 2 ?
Greet questions! I wouldn’t stop flying my 5inch but definitely add the Avata 2 to my repertoire. It can do pretty much everything my 5inch can do. Only difference is it can’t go as fast and may not be as crazy agile as the 5”. I mean you saw the footage so no need to explain, it’s wild how good it flies. Everything was stabilised in post with gyro flow :)
Awesome review, which I thank you for. Have been thinking of buying the avata 2 which now watching your video has confirmed it worth it. Just asking what stabilising program did you use dji rocksteady or gyro flow?
How was the range and signal in different situations? How far could you take it? Did you push it til’ you lost the signal? I always get nervous when a drone is more than 300-400meters away 🙈 What was your experience with that?
Excellent footage and locations! Nice to see what the Avatar 2 is capable of as I just took delivery of mine a couple of hours ago and everything is charging. I've never flown FPV let alone used a motion controller so I'm looking forward to getting the drone into the air. Thank you for an inspirational video!!
Awesome, and congrats on the purchase. You going to love it man! Make sure to practice a little bit in the sim before you fly outside. It flies completely different compared to a mavic. Good luck :)
11:01 can someone tell me the "after" here is after edit right? I'm absolutely new in drones, don't know nothing, a complete newbie. If that is edited, it looks phenomenal. I just wanna know if I get this drone, how hard is it to edit to get these highly saturated colors? I wanna get thia because supposedly it's very newbie friendly and I just wanna fly high and record shit. It's so fascinating to me, to be able to see / have this view from air live, it feels like I'm flying and get to keep the recordings. I just wanna know how hard is it to get these kinda colors, specially here 5:17. This is such a breathtaking shot and the colors. Please tell me how do you edit these. NGL my eyes got widely opened look at 5:17. Basically what I'm asking is: Is there a noob friendly way to edit like this? Like slide on some bars or some filters maybe?
Hi, amazing shooting! I am just starting with video editing and I have 2 questions: 1) I see you use 4:3, does it mean you simple crop to 16:9? 2) Are you using rocksteady or gyroflow? If using rocksteady, are you on ultra wide or wide? Thank you bro.
Hey brother, great question! I shoot in 4:3 and during the stabilisation process it stretches it into a 16:9 frame. I use Gyroflow to stabilise the footage and shoot only in WIDE as you otherwise won't be able to use Gyroflow
Amazing video man! Thanks a lot. You're one of the reasons I bought the Avata 2 as well. Thanks for all awesome content. Question though. I assume you use Gyroflow to stabilize your footage. I think by default it exports to H.265/HEVC. I see the file size is heavily compressed when using that format. Does that loose a lot of coloring data if you want to edit your footage in DaVinci Resolve/Premiere Pro etc. afterwards? Or do you recommend to still use H.265/HEVC because of the convenient compressed file size? What do you usually do? Thanks a lot!
Jesus. Just bought my first drone out of the blue and chose the Avata 2. This vid is so professional! Ur awesome! I just don’t know if I can handle such a drone and how to learn it.
nice shots of the surfing! I can really agree how difficult that is. You have so little time with the battery (i was with the avata 1) if you consider that they have to find the right wave, catch the wave, you need to catch the footage. I also had a hard, but certainly fun time shooting surfers
Love this look at how it all comes together! Definitely getting one soon! May have to wait on the upgraded controller (for budgeting reasons) but at least I can get used to the motion controller first!
@@fabreezy_ In FCC mode, you get all the channels and RF power available from the Avata 2. However, in CE mode, channels are restricted and RF power is massively reduced to meet European regulations. Also the top speed in manual mode is limited to 19m/s. I talked to DJI and they told me it‘s not Hardware regulated it‘s done by GPS Position so it switched automatically… but luckily there are already possibilities for us poor European People 😂
Hey Fab! I have a more “personale” question about the Avata 2. How Does it feel to fly it? Like, is it powerful enough, is it good in turning and flipping etc. Also I love your vids man🔥
As you could see in my video I had no limitations when flying the drone. If anything I felt like I was able to push a little further since I knew I have safety features that my usual FPV drones don’t have. It’s definitely not a freestyle drone but who cares if your main concern is to take dope content with it. Hope this helps 🤟🏽
Insane ! Great work ! How do you match the mixed sequences, the vlog part which I assume is shot at 24fps and the Avata shot at 30fps ? I imagine you have a 24fps timeline, but there’s no stuttering and also it doesn’t seem the Avata footage are slowed down.
Thanks so much, appreciate it! You are almost right, the camera footage is recorded in 30FPS. I made sure of that because I absolutely hate stuttering footage. Timeline is 30fps therefore no jitter 😎
Amazing footage man! Im thinking about buying this one. I do have one question. Will I get the same result with the luts on top of the normal footage, without d log m? Or do I really need to shoot in Dlog to get the best out of the luts? Thanks a lot!
hey man great footage. couple of questions: - did you use any ND filters for the shots? - what settings did you pick - how did you stabilize the footage? In drone settings or post?

However. You've made me confident into thinking that the Avata 2 must be my next drone. 😌
Thank you for this video and all the best from France. ✌️
Appreciate it bro ur so welcome :)
the footage quality and color grading are amazing bro. I'm going to be getting the avata 2 for my next DJI drone I'm loving FPV
Awesome thank you! Make sure to use my affiliate link if you can 🙏🏽
Stunning footage! I've just added the Avata 2 and searching for the best video settings. Question, are you using Gyroflow, or the internal processing with "rock steady"?
Wow, great review and superb footage. Is this footage straight from the avata? Or do you use software to get it that smooth/stable?
Thanks so much, yes the footage is from the avata 2 and is stabilised with Gyroflow
What music is that? ( Really good!)
Amazing, would love to do this as a job... any tips.. i've got this drone and taken a few decent videos... also love the music in the waterfall video what was it called? huge respect Fab
very good quality👍 i think you can change the battery cells 3500mah ones without soldering
thank you, oh wow good to know!
Just superb footage, flying skills and amazing review. Quick question, how did you capture the sound from the motorcycle or was that sound effect added in post?
Do you have a video on how you color grade like the rice field clips? This is exactly how I want my colors to pop but I can't find any video at all showing how to do it
I do have a LUT pack that's available for purchase. However I may do a colour grading video in the future
Transition to the desktop was gnarly \m/
Great video and appreciate the thorough description of the capability of the drone and showing it in action. Question... When you were doing the shoots by the waterfall area, were you using the joystick during that time or the normal controller? P.S. Mine will arrive Tuesday and I'm so pumped!
Grazie mille Michael! The only shots taken on the joystick were the ones at the rice fields, at the bamboo villa and one at the first volcano. You going to love yours 🤘🏽
@@fabreezy_ anche a te! Mi piace il tuo video tanto!😀
really liked your video. my only complain ( because I was trying to find the answer ) is knowing which controller you were using on each flight. for example, can you or did you fly down the waterfalls using the motion controller.
Subbbed!
Thanks so much Jeremy appreciate it! Make sure to use my (affiliate) link if you do so 🙏🏽
Men I just see your video and go right away to bu it the Avata 2. Your shoots and color correction are a peace of art.
Thanks so much man !!!!
Hey man, I fly AVATA 2 as well and am amazed of your footage. This deserves a Hollywood star at the walk of fame !
I really appreciate it man!!!!
You have great energy and your footage is insane. Loving your work dude.
@@district5rookie thanks so much man, appreciate it! If you enjoyed this video you might like my most recent edit too of my time in Vanuatu 🙌🏽
Can’t wait to fly again 🙌🏼🙌🏼🙌🏼🔥
what camera setup do you use? looks super nice, maybe a lens filter too?
the color grading is perfect too
I have now seen plenty of Avata 2 reviews but non of them was even close to this one in my personal opinion because this review is mostly about the Avata 2 as the tool for making the incredible videos, instead of discussing all of the technical stuff..
Maybe you can make a quick video showing how to apply the dlog??
Great video! Thank you. Question. Can you do the waterfall dive type of shot with the DJI Motion controller as same as regular remote controller 3? I am thinking of getting an Avata 2 bundle, but that only comes with a motion controller, and wondering if I need to get the regular remote controller as well......
I would say you can't really do a full crazy dive with the motion controller. Definitely get the controller 3 for best results
Fantastic !! Just have a question. I got myself avata2 in Taiwan and brought it to Europe and thinking to get Dji care for Europe though I am reading misleading info. Some says that product and dji care needs to purchased in the same country is that really the case ?
Thank you! Woaah that's a really hard question I would honestly have no clue man, sorry 😢
good a few questions for you, Would you put your 5inch FPV drone apart to start fly more with avata 2 ? And you're using reelsteady for pos footage stabilization or using rocksteady from avata 2 ?
Greet questions! I wouldn’t stop flying my 5inch but definitely add the Avata 2 to my repertoire. It can do pretty much everything my 5inch can do. Only difference is it can’t go as fast and may not be as crazy agile as the 5”. I mean you saw the footage so no need to explain, it’s wild how good it flies. Everything was stabilised in post with gyro flow :)
@@fabreezy_ amazing help Fabio thank you 👍🏽
@@joanvanz Anytime man 🤘🏽
Awesome review, which I thank you for. Have been thinking of buying the avata 2 which now watching your video has confirmed it worth it.
Just asking what stabilising program did you use dji rocksteady or gyro flow?
Awesome glad I could help! Make sure to use my affiliate link in the description 😄 I use Gyroflow which will get you the best results!
How was the range and signal in different situations? How far could you take it? Did you push it til’ you lost the signal? I always get nervous when a drone is more than 300-400meters away 🙈 What was your experience with that?
The furthest I have gone was 2km+ which I would NEVER do with a cinewhoop lmfao
Excellent footage and locations! Nice to see what the Avatar 2 is capable of as I just took delivery of mine a couple of hours ago and everything is charging. I've never flown FPV let alone used a motion controller so I'm looking forward to getting the drone into the air.
Thank you for an inspirational video!!
Awesome, and congrats on the purchase. You going to love it man! Make sure to practice a little bit in the sim before you fly outside. It flies completely different compared to a mavic. Good luck :)
Amazing video and shots. But couldn't understand, where was the second location?
What power bank would you recommend? Is it powerful enough to charge all three batteries when I'm out in the field?
I used a 20000mah battery and charged 2.5hr batts with it I believe. It really depends how depleted the Avata battery is
11:01 can someone tell me the "after" here is after edit right?
Like slide on some bars or some filters maybe?
very underrated channel. Amazing video. Subscribed
Thank you so much, glad you enjoyed it! Appreciate the sub 🙌🏼
@@fabreezy_ So whats the advantage to shooting 4:3? Wider field of view?
Amazing video man! Thanks a lot. You're one of the reasons I bought the Avata 2 as well. Thanks for all awesome content.
Question though. I assume you use Gyroflow to stabilize your footage. I think by default it exports to H.265/HEVC. I see the file size is heavily compressed when using that format. Does that loose a lot of coloring data if you want to edit your footage in DaVinci Resolve/Premiere Pro etc. afterwards? Or do you recommend to still use H.265/HEVC because of the convenient compressed file size? What do you usually do? Thanks a lot!
this video is insanely great. I do have one question for you thought. What is that video editing software that you are using please
Wow incredible footage. Are you using an ND filter on the drone?!?
Thank you :) Yes I am, 95% of the time depending on the lighting conditions
@@fabreezy_👏I’m gonna need that link sir lol
Which controller were you using for the surfing footage in the beginning?
Used the RC 3 for this one
Jesus. Just bought my first drone out of the blue and chose the Avata 2. This vid is so professional! Ur awesome! I just don’t know if I can handle such a drone and how to learn it.
What camera/lens/gimbal is filming you throughout this? Great video 👊
nice shots of the surfing! I can really agree how difficult that is. You have so little time with the battery (i was with the avata 1) if you consider that they have to find the right wave, catch the wave, you need to catch the footage. I also had a hard, but certainly fun time shooting surfers
Yeah surfing is so much fun to film. Was definitely nicer to film with the Avata as it has such longer battery life 😄
I'm actually cheering too when you guys put the battery after its dry. NICE MAN
hahaha amazing man thank you
one of the best videos iv seen about avata 2
Thank you so much :)
Love this look at how it all comes together! Definitely getting one soon! May have to wait on the upgraded controller (for budgeting reasons) but at least I can get used to the motion controller first!
Amazing thanks so much :)
very nice - what is the portable battery charger you were using? That for me is a massive plus - you can in theory be out all day/night
where exactly did you fly the avata 2? Very good video bro!
In Java and Bali, thank you :)
It's so much fun to watch guys ,respect great skills and shots, especially when you chase ´´race´´ the avatas. Great shots!
wow amazing shots.... sadly in the EU the Avata 2 is very limited... but there are Walkarounds
What are the regulations there ?
@@fabreezy_ In FCC mode, you get all the channels and RF power available from the Avata 2. However, in CE mode, channels are restricted and RF power is massively reduced to meet European regulations. Also the top speed in manual mode is limited to 19m/s. I talked to DJI and they told me it‘s not Hardware regulated it‘s done by GPS Position so it switched automatically… but luckily there are already possibilities for us poor European People 😂
@@realbano oh wow crazy I had no idea. Thanks for the insight 🙏🏽
@@fabreezy_ yeah it sucks.. so when you are filming here bring your other drones and your bag with all the batteries 🤣🤣🤣
Wow. Insane Video, Planes and avata2.
Thank you 🤩
@@fabreezy_ Thanks!
@@fabreezy_ Makes perfect sense. Thanks for the info and keep up the good work !
Amazing footage man! Im thinking about buying this one. I do have one question. Will I get the same result with the luts on top of the normal footage, without d log m? Or do I really need to shoot in Dlog to get the best out of the luts? Thanks a lot!
Great video! I was debating about picking up the Avata 2, but your video convinced me to order it! Epic footage!
Awesome dude, that’s great to hear! Make sure to use my affiliate link in the description 😀👊🏽
Stunning review! 👏 I’m more accustomed to cinema drones but now I’ve been converted 🤩
Amazing thanks so much :)
Thank you for mentions the homepoint return. I had been wondering about that part!
Any time!
Can you record in vertical format with this drone? For Reels, IG stories, etc. Thank you, amazing video.
Yes you kind of can in 4:3 which is perfect for vertical
Nice footage! I have a dji mini 3 pro and I was wondering how you can do those fast spins around the POI?
hey man great footage. couple of questions:
- did you use any ND filters for the shots?
- what settings did you pick
- how did you stabilize the footage? In drone settings or post?
- yes ND filters used
- watch my best settings to see which settings I used
- Gyroflow
*fabreezy thx for taking the time & effort to make & put up this cogent review. I have a question re: the goggles - I am 'a bit' older than you and require reading glasses. With my DJI FPVs (goggles V2) it isn't optimal glasses inside the goggles. Frustrating! Can the goggles you use here in this video be used whilst wearing reading glasses?*
*Thanks again for this superb review video.*
Hey Frabreezy, how are you? Could you tell me which camera and lens you used to record this video? I'm looking for something to do in this style, I think it's too cool. Awesome video man, I'm from Brazil, I'm going to the US at the end of the year, I hope to make some awesome images like you. see you man,
