    Fun no spoilers fact: The bald guy Saul sent was never intended to be in the show. The actor playing Saul Goodman was originally written in this episode to go and help Jesse, but the actor, Bob Odenkirk, wasn't available and the writers had to think of a whole new character to replace him in this episode.
    Minor spoiler about the appearance of a character:
    So with Odenkirk not being available we have to thank him for the creation of one of the best Breaking Bad characters: Mike Ehrmantraut.

    13:20 It is fascinating how older generations know some cues and the newer ones do not. Not only these reactors, but several others of the same age, all did not immediately know that Jane's father was an air traffic controller when they showed him. To me, an older person, I knew immediately that he was an ATC and also that it is one of the most important jobs out there and that him being distracted was a big problem.

    If you think about it the plane crash is a metaphor for Walt's current situation. His actions inadvertently lead to that in air collision just like his actions lead to the collision of his personal life with with his secret life as a meth cook. And both had disastrous results. So it's totally fitting that the planes crashed right above him.
    You guys are going to love season 3.

    • @MontgomeryWenis

      Vince Gilligan made sure there were connections in everything. Walt needed $737,000 to be safe and secure, and then a 737 crashed and burned right above his house. The bear foreshadows Gus' end, aaaaand Walt is wearing the same color as it, symbolizing his involvement. The bear could also be a reference to Walt's two personas: one just as it seems, and the other all messed up because of his behaviours.

    I'm seeing alot of comments on here about the episode titles easter eggs. I would like to say to all of us watching these reactions, I think it is more fun to see them discover this rather than being told after the fact. Another reaction channel (Kyuujin Reacts) was given the formula to figure it out and we got to watch it dawn on them, which was so much more fun. Every other reaction channel gets told about it and we later see them say "we know", which is not as much fun as the discovery.
    Just something to think about for the future benefit of reacters and commenters alike.

    • @justanotherviking2461
      @justanotherviking2461 5 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I mean if you don't see it at this point, then that's it. They're not gonna explain it in the show. Nobody spoiled it before the ending of the season. This is the only time and the most logical one to tell them about it.
      Only time it doesn't apply is like after this you tell them something for them to figure it out on their own, but you should tell us then that, so we know not to comment about, but I am sorry, you're in the wrong here.

    • @mikepeters807
      @mikepeters807 5 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@justanotherviking2461 I'm sorry you seem to miss the point of my comment.
      My comment was meant to get viewers to think about how to better help reacters have a better experience for both them and us. It was made as a recruitment to those who made the comments revealing the easter eggs to join more of us who want to point reacters in the direction to figure it out for themselves. This is why I very purposely offered it as "something to think about", rather than as an "I'm right/you're wrong" argument. My goal was not to tell these people "don't do that", so much as it was "why don't we find a way to have more fun (for all of us) with this show by thinking ahead on things like spoilers/easter eggs".
      Again, I offer this for you to think about.

      @@mikepeters807 Maybe I am stupid or something, but I really don't understand what you say here and there's no point in continuing the discution and try to explain it to me (maybe because english is not my native language). Have moderators (maybe you're one of them) and show the girls only the comments that you consider appropiate and fun for them to read. At this point, there was not gonna be an explanation for the titles so I figuered (I didn't post a comment to explain Imon and Aby, but I might have done for other channels) it was the right time to tell them and their minds to be blown (sure, off camera). Again, an initiative like this on youtube won't work, so i'd suggest pick comments for them to read if you want them not to be "spoiled" (again i don't understand) this as they wouldn't have figured it out on their on at this point (I haven't and not a lot of people have).
      You suggest like asking them "Hey, remember that pink teddy bear? What are the titles of the episodes it appears on? It's just like telling them, they'd still not have figured it out on their on and I think they are going to be as excited/surprised/mind blown by the show's ingeniosity.

    FWIW, the aircraft are traveling at hundreds of miles per hour. It can be difficult to pick them up visually when this happens. Mid-airs are rare - once the planes get off the ground the sky is pretty big, and ATC is usually very good about keeping them separated. en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Gol_Transportes_A%C3%A9reos_Flight_1907 was a crash similar to the one depicted here in Breaking Bad, a smaller plane hitting a 737. This crash was because the ATCs put the two aircraft on a collision course at the same altitude. Brazil tried to blame the small jet pilots for not changing altitude when they changed direction, arguing that it should have been automatic. The counter-argument is that you always maintain the altitude ATC puts you at and only change when they tell you to do so (which ATC should have done when the aircraft changed direction). Turned into a minor international incident. Tragically, the 737 was critically damaged and crashed, killing all aboard. The smaller jet actually survived and landed reasonably safely.

      @@Jeremy-jm3fe There's no guarantee that Jane would have overdosed. She was a junkie for years and appeared to have known how to handle herself and how to prevent choking in her sleep (laying on her side). You're suggesting a woulda-coulda-shoulda scenario. Plus, they planned to secretly elope to New Zealand. How would Jane's father even find out if she did overdose? He'd have no idea where to even begin looking for her.

    Being emotional about something is not ptsd. I’m not trying to be rude and I’m sorry if you’ve been diagnosed with ptsd for your friend’s situation. I’ve just seen a lot of younger people use terms for things that aren’t actually what they are.
    Anyway I’m enjoying your reactions. I love this show

    Hello ladies. Finally we see what that intro was about. 2 plane crashing. In a way is Walter's fault indirectly. Also, shouldn't the other controllers have been able to notice something was wrong? And intervene to stop the crash.

    So all of Walt's actions led to this. He killed Jane and due to that her father let a plane crash.
    Walt is just like his cancer: spreading throughout the lives of many. Jesse, Skylar, Jane, her father are so far some of the victims of this cancer.

    • @NerdChronic

      John Doe The schedule is pretty full as it is, and it’s relaxing to have a show that doesn’t need to be recorded, editing and uploaded week by week to just binge. Also Dexter has a pretty unanimously hated ending, so it’s not one most people would even want to see.

    Come on, do you really think Gus didn't know Walts Brother-in-law is a DEA agent before this episode?

    • @rustincohle2135
      @rustincohle2135 5 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Gus didn't know Walt had an in-law in the DEA. Why would Gus inquire about Walt to Hank had he known their relationship? He wanted to clarify that Walt was not DEA. Gus not knowing about Walt's connection to the DEA is actually foreshadowing. In that, doing business with Walt was a mistake from the get go which will inevitably lead to Gus's downfall. Gus should have trusted his initial instinct and not trust Walt from the beginning.

    • @TGND333
      @TGND333 5 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      @@rustincohle2135 This is Gus man. He would not have hired Walt before he checked up on him, and it would be incredibly easy to find out that his wife's sister is married to a DEA agent. They just put this scene in here to establish that fact that he knows. He makes it a point to ask if Walt is one of their agents for transparency to the police.

    • @rustincohle2135
      @rustincohle2135 5 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@TGND333 "He would not have hired Walt before he checked up on him"
      Gus didn't hire Walt at this point in the story yet. Gus had only made a one time bulk purchase of Walt's formula. He hired Walt afterwards to cook for him after the 38 pounds were sold off AND after he had learned Hank's relation to Walt. Gus didn't know Walt had family in the DEA until this very episode, otherwise why the fuck would he ask Hank if Walt was "one of their agents"?
      That's the whole point of Gus, Walt and this story. Gus had always been a successful meth peddler and a very cautious one at that. His initial thoughts of Walt was that it was a mistake to work with him (and he was right) and he went against his better judgment to sell Walt's formula. It was only after Gus's path crossed with Walt's that Gus got sloppy and his character undergoes radical changes (just as every character does after clashing with Walt/Heisenberg). Gus had always believed that "fear was not an effective motivator", BUT after Walt murders Gale, Gus then cut Victor's throat with a box cutter to scare Walt and Jesse into submission. Gus also said he would never work with junkies as they are untrustworthy. BUT after Walt's insistence, Gus hires Jesse and etc.
      It was agreeing to work with Walt in the first place that was the beginning of Gus's downfall. It went against his better judgment and he paid dearly for it. That's the point of this show. Walt destroys everyone he encounters.
