SUMMER IN A VAN CAN BE BRUTAL... van life in extreme heat

Imagine trying to fall asleep in a sauna! That’s what our van Ody can feel like during a heat wave - where temperatures routinely reach over 100 degrees Fahrenheit (38C). Van life in the summer has it’s pros and cons for sure, but recent weather trends in Europe have made these new heatwaves pretty brutal, which is why we insulated our van a lot during the van conversion, and that’s also the reason we normally never stray too far away from the ocean-because a quick swim before bed is the only way to cool down! This week, we’re leaving the coastline behind to travel towards Meteora, a majestic collection of monasteries in the mountains of central Greece. Tons of fellow travelers have recommended them to us, but one question remains. Will it be worth battling 100 degree heat to see this “must visit” spot? That’s what we’re about to find out…
