Good vid. Thank you. Just one point. James kept saying he had one hook snood below the weight and one above it. They were both above the lead. ie. a 2 hook paternoster. If the bottom hook snood was below the weight and the weight was free running, then it would be a wessex rig

Shelters are no use on wide beaches such as in Northumberland, you just have to tolerate the weather as the tide retreats several hundred yards

us Northerners arent bothered by cold wind or rain anyways mate ;) only shelter i use is the bus shelter and even them have their windas smashed around here lol

That was a great video and catching dog fish n pouting is something I use to do on a regular basis when I was living in Douglas on the isle of man , we would catch mackerel in the summer also and I caught my first and only ever codling there aswell, but as my ex would tell you my target often was flatfish ANY flatfish and although their not as present as dogfish people do catch flounder and dab and plaice but even when beachcasting from the tiny beach other side of the harbour where most flatfish are caught and I had all the right rigs n rag n lug worm I only caught dogfish and a rockling. Anyway if you fish that beach again maybe try some rigs with beads n attractors size 1 hool baited with ragwort about 40 yards out and you may have picked up some species of flatfish.
Give it a go , I'm 37 years into my fishing and I'm still learning new tactics 😀
