Great tips. I’d add my own 2p worth. On a lure session you will cast hundreds of times, so as Henry mentioned braid management does need to become muscle memory. I do same, cast, manually set bail arm then extra step for me I use finger to guide braid into corner guide of bail arm same time ensures no loose turns and that from my first wind on reel the line has a little tension. I get way fewer wind knots than I used to. I hardly catch any fish though😅
i do that 2 mate, i feather my lures like a roach angler with a stick float, i keep my finger out a few turns of the bail closed 2 just to make sure theres no slack on that first bit of pick up

Noooooooo. I love the sandeel pencil. Probably one of my favourte lures. Its always the first lure ro go on to "find" the fish then I can make changes once i know if and where they are. My go to lure for the surf aswell.

Savage gear is hardly overpriced mate, they’re cheap gear in the grand scheme. Look at megabass vision 110s and other popular bass like pachinko’s. Makes savage gear seem cheap

there is no harm of getting like for example 14-56 rod. so rod tip will be mh or h which you can play top water lures a lot easier. 7-28 rod tips a bit softer so kinda hard for when you doing wtd action. also you can lift the fish with it lets say you are on top the rock against big waves. cheers

Just got into lure bass fishing and just loved all the tech info shown. However, why oh why are you and other anglers unhooking by hand when you have a proper pliers strapped to your waist??? It just looks cruel when guys struggle to unhook a fish by hand? This practice actually puts newbies off angling when seen on the box! So Mr Gilbey, who should know better, use your expensive pliers like the rest of your gear otherwise why bother buying it in the first place?????
we stick hooks in fish for our enjoyment, if you don't want to cause any distress to any fish then I'd suggest not fishing perhaps? I know fine thanks, thank you though for your advice
Pliers are usually used when the hooks are deep in the mouth and because most of us use barbles hooks it is very quick and less stressful for the fish when releasing..so there you go.
Silly question Henry, but what's with the mask? Obviously a reason that I haven't learnt yet....

because I've had a melanoma (the bad skin cancer), and if at all possible I'd like to avoid getting it again, don't know if I would get lucky second time around. So I might look "silly", but I'd rather protect myself if that's okay by you
