Shore Fishing UK - NON-STOP ACTION - My best shore fishing in years | The Fish Locker

  • Fishing from the shore at a rocky mark I haven't visited in many years I use my homemade pulley dropper rigs and a mixture of baits to have the best shore fishing session ever!!! None stop action with fish coming in constantly. I explain my tactics and show how to prepare bait so you can do this too. Amazing settings, a wonderful sunset and solid hard fighting fish. How can I top that?
I also discuss the feeding habits and the biology of Smoothounds - also called Gummy Sharks.
Don't forget to check out our sister channel ‪@thefishlockerworkshop‬ for helpful reviews and videos.

Well i guess im going to give the pully dropper rig a bash. I usually use up and over for simplicity but i like the snood change. I suppose i could put a swivel on with a genie clip.
I caught a couple last weekend just under the 10lb mark, there was a bit of a swell, was using a 2 hook flapper with size 2 aberdeens and a bass rod, fishing for flatties etc but these showed up.
Lost the starry right at my feet, tried to wash it up onto the rocks, swell dropped and sucked fish out, straighted my hook out and it was gone.
I had to be careful of the swell. Caught it on rag.
Cheers for the awesome vids as usual. Tight lines m8

When circle hooks were all the rage ~20 years ago I tried them and lost a few good fish so went back to J hooks. A year or so ago I bought some pre-made rigs not knowing they were circle hooks, gave them a go and now I love them. What you say is 100% correct in that they grab the corner of the mouth and rarely (if ever) gut hook. They key is not to whack the fish too hard when they bite - just a lift of the rod will do the trick! BTW I am really enjoying your videos - thank you.

I caught the first smooth hound. then one after another, all 11 of Us add a smooth hound at the same time on our lines, the bites went from me,,to my nephew, to my brother, then my son.we was all in a long line on the rocks.and the bites was all in order, from me to 11th person. they feed in packs I've had three rods go off at the same time as well.never fish 2 baits on the same rod when your fishing for hounds.wen they come in the area, and come on the feed.its non stop.ive always done better on low tied, about 80 to 100 yards out.keep those lines tight my friend, love your videos.

@@TheFishLockerHi John, I just wanted to say that we get gummy sharks here as well in Sth. Aust and they are nice eating but only if you dispatch them, fillet and then skin them fast. Like all sharks they urinate through their skin so if you put them whole on ice and keep them for a few hours the meat will have a strong ammonia taste. One other thing, ours do have teeth but they are small and rounded so only used as crushers, much like a stingray and they do have a nice hard bite if they grab you. No lasting damage though.

I probably won't get another chance to go fishing but your videos are a very good second best. Old age gets us all but I well remember hooking 'something like a megladon' in a large mill pool. I never even saw the s*d. Took all my line and broke it. Probably a pike of course and rods of 50 years ago were not like modern ones.

I grew up fishing fresh water. We used worms/nightcrawlers live plus minnows live. Now I did do some snorkle/scuba in Florida but that was spear fishing. A different sort of thing. You all have a lovely eco system going there. I will say that several of those fish would have gone home with me on a dinner date as you say. When next you come back to the Colonies check out the Thousand Islands state park at the tip of South West Florida. You will need a boat. Peace upon you and yours. D

@@TheFishLocker Completely agree mate, not a preacher but like to set an example especially for my lad. We had somone lost up at Llandudno, fishing and falling off the rocks last year.
I used to jamb my foot in a crevice when near the edge rod handling. I'd rather a broken ankle than loose my life. I now use a harness and teather if there's anchors in the rock or buoyancy aid if in an unknown area.
